I recently visited to sell some items (Quebec St location) and look for things for my child. For the majority of my time there, around 20 minutes, I remained very kind and empathetic trying my best to understand the process. However, the staff's approach left me utterly frustrated and ultimately led me to leave with no intention of returning. From the start, when I politely asked "How does this work?", I was met with blank stares and **no explanation whatsoever**. The staff used **unclear shop shorthand**, and when I sought clarity, they were condescending. It felt like the entire interaction was an **obstacle course designed to keep me from understanding or participating easily**. It was only after enduring this prolonged period of a **total lack of transparency and an alarming level of apathy** that I finally expressed my breaking point, saying "If I were a jerk I would be screaming at you right now because of how you're handling this and your total lack of transparency." Their response was merely a shrug showing a complete disregard for my legitimate frustration. I received a voucher but please understand I will not be redeeming it. This was an incredibly poor customer experience and I cannot recommend your establishment. Management should be aware that this level of indifference is deeply damaging to your customer relationships and business. read more

If you have children, you need to check out this large space. I have never seen such a large resale shop for kiddo items. The best part is, it's cheap!!!!! They do a great job picking items they buy and re-saving in the shop at reasonable prices. Now I myself have only tried selling items here and you won't get a whole lot for the items you sale but I do have a great appreciation for the fact they are as picky as they are on what they buy and resale. They also have special discount days where you can get 90% off red tag clearance items which is amazing if you need to stock up on something for your kiddos!!! The store is clean and well organized and the staff is super helpful. I plan to continue doing shopping and reselling here as I have stuff to unload my kids no longer need or use. The one thing I really appreciate here is when you sale them items they keep it in a container snd show you only, not the kiddos. Because had my kid seen what we sold, which she doesn't even remember owning probably because she stopped playing with it, she would have had a meltdown, fit, argument, and well.... Okay. Where do I begin? First of all. The staff is super rude to customers. 80% have attitude. Look like they are all annoyed at customers. Second, their clothing and toys are all over-priced. $4.50 for 1 6 month pant? Really? And then a bunch of onesies are marked between $8-11 dollars each. With that amount I can go to Target across the street and buy a 2-set for $1 more. I don't want to give out a treasure, but Kid-to Kid store is WAY better. It pains me to write this because I love consignment. But the staff at this location... phew. They can't believe you have the audacity to show up at their place of business to sell your foul belongings. You're not at least 8 feet away from the sliding door when they open? You should have known better, peasant. The paying customers enter first. You think your offer will be ready in less than 4 hours when you're the first person in line? You must be stupid to assume something so foolish. 5 dog hairs remained on a fleece zippy when you lint rolled and folded the entire bin in a meticulous fashion praying you'd live up to their standard of perfection? Everything you own is garbage. I will say this narrative seems to apply to the younger staff. There is an employee who is older, but not old. Maybe 40? I'm sorry if you're not 40. She's a delight. A real gem. She tends to ring up purchases, and you can feel her cringing at her colleagues behavior. Her eyes are apologetic, and you can tell she's embarrassed. I want to make it clear, I support making accommodations for employees with health-related needs and/or disabilities. I think it's fantastic and the right thing to do. It's the poor execution and implementation of their strategy here that's flawed. There's a difference between being assertive and condescending. And oftentimes there are a ways to accommodate both the employee and the customer. For starters, don't let a customer leave the store prior to doing an initial pet hair scan. Post signage and make an effort to communicate these policies on the front end. Bottom line for those still reading this, if you want to sell some of your kids clothes, you will be able to do that here (should you first use a magnifying glass to identify pet hair), but be prepared to be demoralized in the process! Because my nephew is growing like a weed, Lauren C and I ventured over to check out the latest offerings from Once Upon a Child. STAR #1 = The selection of goods is MASSIVE, and they have just about anything and everything you could want! Racks are completely stocked full of clothing, toys, shoes, books, strollers, backpacks, sporting gear - anything you need for a little one in your life! STAR #2 = Staff is so welcoming, friendly and 100% helpful. We were looking for a few specifics so when we were acknowledged upon entering and pointed in the right direction, I was impressed! The checkout process was seamless, quick and informative! This location is always hosting events, unveiling Halloween costumes early (this weekend!) and is completely genuine with each customer. STAR #3 = The lowest prices in town! Because 95% of merchandise is donated (by households or stores), pricing is marked down, marked down, marked down - making the nicest of item, super cheap! I left with a pair of hockey skates (yes, my feet are tiny, and I bought them for me!), and a Bronco's jersey (for my nephew!), my total was a whopping $13.65! The quality on both items were amazing, hence the reason I snatched them up before someone else did! I have to knock off a star for the store being completely in disarray. I get it, there are a ton of donated items and it's hard to fit them all in one place, but my goodness! Organize. With my ever-growing nephew and desire to start my own family (soon!), I know I'll return for various needs! ProTip: Check out their donation program - as the store will pay YOU for donating good quality items OR if you're like me (an avid donator of goods) simply get a receipt for tax season and pay it forward. read more

Won't be back here again! Got a jacket and a bunch of clothes for my boys. Take the tags off and the next day go to put the jacket on and the zipper is broken and no zipper pull. So of course I'm going to return it. Go take it back and they won't return it because I don't have the tags just my receipt. I can understand if I was just trying to return it getting store credit but it's broken. I expect my money back it's their fault not mine. We had every intention of keeping it but couldn't because they sold broken ass junk. It was a $7 jacket. Yes I could say oh well it's just $7 but WTF can't this place just give me my $7 back for the crap they sold me broken. Now I'm out the gas money AND my $7 because I sure as hell won't be back to this dumpster fire to spend my $7 store credit. There's far better places to shop. I highly recommend going elsewhere. Will not be back. My husband walked in at 6:45 tonight to sell a swing, bouncy seat and a few other baby things we have. Before he could even get in the door the woman very abruptly and rudely told him "we aren't buying anymore for the night!" Here we are with all this stuff unloaded and 2 small children and they say they aren't buying anymore. I read the sign ON THEIR FRONT DOOR as we were leaving and it said they stop buying 1 hour before close. They close at 8! They were lazy and just didn't want to deal with it. I would give zero stars if I could. The staff that is in charge of looking through the clothes is very rude. I took a bag of clothes in and a leaf had flown into the bag because it was very windy that day. They called me to come get my bag because of a leaf. They will also refuse to look at your clothes if there is one dog hair. It understandable to refuse if the clothes are dirty and covered in dog hair but this place is a little crazy. The sale prices are decent but their regular prices I find to be overpriced for used clothes. I won't waste my time giving them business. Plenty of other places to shop used. read more

Great selection for newborns and staff was super friendly. The bathrooms are super cute also with the little hand/foot prints! I also checked out the book selection and there was some very new/gently used books at a great price. I'm from Austin so I was bummed out to realize there is no half price books. So when I discovered the book section here. I was happy! Not the biggest selection but still a large variety to choose from for all ages! This place is a little bit more of a drive. We have sold things here before for few years with no issues. I just brought in something to sell, and they returned it damaged/torn, and it was definitely NOT like that when we took it in. They told me it was torn, which I thought was erroneous, but it looks like there are 6 new puncture holes in the material that weren't there when we took it apart. I can't prove this, but I know that we are not lying; they may have made it unsellable. The staff seems to be new and they were also incredibly rude and condescending. I will not ever go here again, and will sell things at the new kids consignment store that is literally on the other side of Target (really close to here), Kid To Kid. read more

I like this place. I might even go out of my way to come, as they have an enormous selection - and an entire section of jammies! Plus during the holidays, entire sections of holiday outfits (dresses, jammies, etc.). There are a lot of cheaper brands, but there are also higher end brands to be found - I found a super cute Hanna Anderson dress in the clearance section. I also got snow pants/ overalls for $6 (!!!!!!), great fuzzy winter boots and snow boots for $7 each, a play tunnel for $12 in great condition, plus they have a TON of toys. Sure, it depends on the selection, and I the pink snow boots wouldn't have been my first choice new, but at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter because they are functional, in good condition, and my kid likes them. And they were $7, so I can't complain. There is a time and a place for nicer, more expensive kids clothes, but for daycare and playing, used is awesome. They're usually swamped with buys which is a little annoying, understandable but still annoying. They're prices are hard to beat and they seem to have a HUGE selection. I've usually been able to find what I need on short notice or a decent compromise depend on my time frame. We've even gotten some pretty cool wants recently. I kept hearing such good things about this store, so I drove the 20 minutes to check it out. The good: Tons and tons of clothes and organized fairly well by size. Good prices on most items. The accept items for selling at any time without an appointment. The bad: It felt dirtier than a lot of other kids used clothing stores and the aisles are very narrow. They don't have a ton of higher end brands, so you see a lot of target and Walmart brands (which are cheap enough new). The toy area is a mess and hard to search through. The shoes are in bins by size, equally messy, with the sizes all mixed up. So, I bought a few items, but doubt I will return. read more

I went this passed Thursday evening to sell and pickup new cloths for my son's. When I got the counter to check out the cashier (I forgot his name male, taller with blonde hair) greeted me and started ringing me out. I was close to a 20% off and I asked if I could do two separate purchases since I had a lot of cloths I was purchasing that evening. He was so patient and nice and work out all the numbers for me. It helped a lot. He had a few questions for his manager Caleb who was also very nice and helpful. He helped work things out so I could save the most money. I was very appreciative for the time they took to help me.  They were unable to buy all my items and Caleb was so nice to explained why. He explained that the swing I brought in had a recall. I had no idea. Plus they offered to throw it away for me as well. Which was awesome because I didn't know what I was going to do with it. After the sale, huge purchase and all my questions there was a little mix up and we forgot add my sell back to the purchase. I didn't hear my phone ring but saw the message when I got home. When I return to the store both gentleman apologized and thank me for coming back. Caleb also added some points to my account for the inconvenience.  I feel I need to give you a little of my background. Before having children I worked in retail for 17 years. I have managed a high end spa and fitness center in downtown Chicago and also was an Executive Team Leader for 3 different target stores. I have lead districts in customer service and trained other managers on the art of service. If I was still in the business I would have recruited both of them to work for me.  You have a great store but more importantly you have a great team! I went in today, broken foot and all with my little wagon full of 4t clothing and some toys. I had read all of the google reviews and already had in my head I would maybe have a negative experience. I thought to myself...well, I could have $20 bucks for this stuff or nothing if I just donate it. This is pretty nice stuff so I'd rather get something rather than nothing. I was pleasantly surprised with both the interaction, hospitality and what they offered!! $97!!! Wow! The guy that checked me out (so sorry I'm really bad with names) even helped me bring the box of stuff they didn't take out to my Jeep. That was so nice of him. My foot was killing me at this point. This place is soooooo cheap for clothes! Onesies were 10 for $10. Most clothes were on clearance when I went as well. Ended up with 17 items, including some sets that had pants and shirts for about $25. I've never sold anything back but I can't imagine they would give you much, just like any other place you sell clothes to, except the clothes are really tiny and have probably been pooped in. read more

I would give this business negative stars if possible. The elderly woman "helping" me was rude from the moment I walked in the door. I was reprimanded for my container (an ikea bag). I was then told that if they didn't get to my items in the next few hours if I didn't come back today they would donate my items and I would receive store credit. Finally I was informed my items would take 30-40 minutes, when I received a text 2 hours later and returned the elderly woman stated that they didnt go through my items because they had a "scent". Freshly laundered the day before, being the scent. I smelled them as I was in the store. This woman didn't like me from the moment I walked in the door, having never been here before I can honestly say I will never come back. Don't waste your time and energy, you can get more of a payoff by donating it and writing it off. read more
