Spirit is a big McDonalds like store for Halloween shoppers, the Costume shop had the same halloween costumes, plus many higher end costumes. You'll enter through a back alley and immediately be greeted by your very own helper who gives you ideas on what you're looking for. Being extremely last minute (like every year) for my Halloween costume I was a bit worried everything would be picked over. Not to worry, I found a perfect "Summer of Love" 50th Anniversary costume that will bring me back to the 60's and living on Haight Street. From small devil masks and bloody make-up to full costumes and even those funny 'blow-up' costumes. Jeff ( Geoff?) runs an enthusiastic staff who know what is hot ( new ) each year. Worst case you can call them up before driving over to browse. I would go early, at least 2 weeks before Halloween to ensure the widest selection but I have also dropped in 1 day before to find a small accessory to finish my costume. I suggest going with some clue as to the direction/theme of your outfit or plan to spend an hour just wandering the packed aisles. Have fun!!!

My review is only for the balloon shopping experience. I've never bought helium balloons from…read moreanywhere before so I wasn't sure the process. I was looking for birthday balloons for a 12 year old. Their selection is massive! A bit overwhelming for myself who is indecisive. The balloon selections are all blown up and displayed on the wall for you to see and each one has a number. You then tell the staff which number you want and you go pay for the deflated balloons. Then you take them to get inflated. They were not too busy on a Sunday afternoon and estimated it would take 20 minutes. They were ready in under 10. While I waited I browsed through their Halloween decorations and costume selections. The staff was kind and I appreciated their time and patience with me. It was a great experience.

That's fine but you could have had a sign up or made an announcement instead of letting us wait in your long line for nothing. Upon entering the store seems to have a solid selection of things from posters, to key chains, to statues, and whatever else you really expect to find at a store like this. Similar to other anime stores in Canada however I will say that the prices are much higher then the items could be boughten for online which seems to be a pattern with these stores in general. The big plus to this store however is the cosplay gear in the back of the store (not my thing, but I can see the appeal) so this is definitely the go-to shop if you are looking for some gear to add to your costume. Overall I would stop by again if I was in the area, but it's not a must if you are just a casual viewer or collector.
