It was also my first day in Toronto and so he kindly gave a bunch of local recommendations for good eats! As far as the actual clothing selection, there were so many other cute items that I would've bought if I had the space in my luggage! They had outfits across the spectrum, ranging from casual everyday wear to more fancy/formal wear. It was also mostly organized by color which was helpful. I wanted to come into a store because I received a cozy robe and face mask as a gift, and loved them. The robe is still for sale in the stores, it's unisex and comes in multiple colors. There were more adorable earrings, purses, and clothes than I could fathom. My friend and I wandered the store for nearly an hour alternately exclaiming, "cute!" with mouth agape or chatting up the staff. As Erin H mentions, each showcased artist/designer works onsite once a week. The only downside to this is if inquiring minds have questions about something other than the artist du jour personally made, there won't be any answers. And as a person with some hard core metal allergies, I won't buy jewelry unless I am certain that it doesn't contain anything that will make my earlobes swell. However, I was lucky to encounter the artist who crafted the earrings that fell in love with and so, got to take them home with me (and support the local arts). Plus, I was able to be a helper that day (I love being of assistance). As the resident artist handed me a credit card receipt, I was able to pass along this little tip: legal colors only please! I passed on the pink pen handed to me and instead signed with a my own, handy blue plume. For, although I wasn't planning on contesting the charges, anyone could attempt to do so and without either a customer's blue or black ink signature on file, the store might end up "out" some fundage.

The store has a fair selection of toys that are reasonably priced from what I saw but what sets them apart is the service. If your looking for knowledgeable, friendly staff that doesn't try to upsell you on the most expensive toys then this is the toy store your looking for.

Pleasantly surprised when I entered Playful Minds. Both shops are like night and day... Playful Minds is the bright, sunny, happy place, ideal to bring your kids to. While the other, "Terminally Ill Toy Store, Queen of the West" is the dark, deathly night where trolls follow you around without a peep, hoping for a reason to chase you away ...or eat your children, I'm still not sure what their deal is. The store is very chic and expensive, and yet the staff are very down-to-earth, which makes me feel suspicious and yet, good about my shopping experience. HOWEVER, I did drop them down a whole star because I slipped pretty crazily when I entered the store because there was a massive puddle of wet slushy snow. You have to clean that up people! What if I had been wearing something worth ruining?
