Summer haul for toddler- all of this for $95!
    Carly M.

As the weather gets warmer, we realized our 2 year old doesn't fit in any of his summer wear! I was lamenting to a coworker about buying a whole new wardrobe & they told me about Once Upon a Child. They exclusively shop here, so I figured I would try it. Let's just say I'm DEFINITELY coming back! Everything on sale was in great condition and they had a ton of variety. It was organized by gender, size, type, and color. The store was clean & very well organized. The customer service was top notch, getting me signed up to receive points super easily. You actually accumulate coupons from shopping there very easily. For $95, I got 8 pairs of shorts, 9 shirts, PJs, and shoes. Such a great deal! We will be back for warmer clothes, I'm sure of it!

Sometimes offers for items brought in are great and then there have been times where they are not so great. Today was ok for the offer.

Fair pricing for selling your items and fair prices for buying items. Not often you feel fairly treated by these resale shops.

Staff was courteous and they have pretty good selections. Much bigger and nicer than McKinney where we live. Recommend.

I am a 9-year shopper and 8-year consigner at Divine Consign, I have SO MANY GREAT THINGS to say…read moreabout it and I ALWAYS recommend it to others! I actually came on here to write this review after seeing that their overall rating isn't as great as I think it should be! PROS: --You can find almost ANYTHING here, relating to kids/babies!! SO OFTEN I find things that I had been eyeing at Target or elsewhere, and now I get to snag them for a fraction of the price! --I ALWAYS, and I mean ALWAYS score great steals of deals when I shop here. If I shop Saturday night as a consigner, I find items priced TO SELL QUICK and I see to it that they are SOLD QUICK--to me!! :) If I wait and shop on discount days, I find things that were hoping to sell at a higher price were passed over by the masses, so now they're HALF OFF or more, so take 50 or 75 percent OFF of 75 percent off retail. It's SO FUN, like a treasure hunt, to find things! ALWAYS worth my drive over. --Organization of items gets better and better. With the incentive to volunteer working at the sale, there are tons of volunteers to organize board games in ABC order, group books by type and series and topic, and keep all the toys grouped together for easy shopping. Keeps getting better! --Quality for the most part is top-notch. Compared to the other consignment sales in the area, there are FAR fewer disappointments when I take clothes to the inspection table and check for hidden stains. --Selection, especially on Saturday/Sunday, is excellent, especially in puzzles/games, clothes, and books. The earlier the better for good shoes. CONS: --As a shopper, the fee to use credit card --As a consigner, the tighter and tighter restrictions on what can be sold, etc. I guess it's how they're perfecting the sale as the years go by (and I KNOW they have their reasons, it's not just arbitrary), and apparently with the number of consigners it's working out for them to tighten things up, but I'm disappointed each year with the new, more restrictive rules, like limiting # of books, limiting # of accessories, completely stopping to accept certain things that have been there for years). --As a consigner, I wish the cost to consign didn't keep going up. Besides the 30% fee already going to the DC owners, it used to be like $5-10 flat fee PER 100 items, but now that's PER 50 items. -- For those considering consigning: It is A LOT OF WORK to Consign here! I love doing it and I love getting that check rather than just donating all my daughter's stuff, but I'm certainly not making minimum wage doing it, considering the HOURS of prepping, entering in the computer, cutting tags, pinning and taping items, boxing them up, then physically loading and unloading them to put them on the sales floor. It's a piece of work I tell ya! It worked well for me when I was a stay-at-home mom of a baby/toddler/preschooler. But it's not for the faint of heart, and not for the full time working mommas, I wouldn't think!

Easily the cleanest, stain free, trendiest kids resale in Dallas. I'm not sure why they don't extend to Austin and Dallas. No cover charge but there are some rules to attending. Other sales permit obviously stained items, it is Rare to find a stained item at this sale. If you do, hand it to an employee or drop it in the basket and they remove it. Checkout is easy, you do get a bit of a discount if you pay cash. Check the website for the size of wagon you can bring, they sell IKEA style bags, and to see which days kids are permitted, which days are 50% and 75%!

Store itself is super cute. Tons to look at and play with. Clear age and theme grouping. Had a lot of German toys in stock. I genuinely hate leaving negative reviews for small businesses because I know how hard it is to run…read moreone. But after giving this store a second chance, I feel parents deserve to know what to expect. A few weeks ago, I stopped in with my kids, who were excited to browse all of the adorable toys. Almost immediately, we noticed signs throughout the store emphasizing that this was essentially "not a toy store, but a place of business." The message came across as "children should be seen and not heard," which felt incredibly ironic for a business that exclusively sells children's toys. My kids are generally very well-behaved in stores. They know they aren't allowed to run, yell, or play with merchandise, and they certainly weren't being destructive. Like most children, though, they naturally picked up a few items that were displayed at their eye level. They were quickly reprimanded by both employees behind the counter for "looking with their hands." I chalked it up to a bad day. We left with a wish list because we don't typically buy toys unless our kids earn them. Today (8/12), my son had finally earned enough to come back and purchase something from his list. Unfortunately, the experience was even worse. While quietly browsing, both he and my eight-year-old daughter were once again met with visible annoyance and corrected for touching merchandise. If your business caters to children, it's unrealistic to expect them to browse exactly like adults. There's a huge difference between destructive behavior and a curious child gently picking up an item. Instead of making families feel welcome, the atmosphere made us feel like we were inconveniencing the staff simply by bringing children into...a children's store. Needless to say, we won't be returning. There are plenty of wonderful local businesses that manage to protect their inventory while still treating families with kindness and respect. May I offer one suggestion? If touching merchandise is truly such a problem, consider adding a small play table or designated hands-on area to redirect little ones. Or perhaps rethink the branding altogether. Ironically, my children receive a warmer welcome at the antique store down the street--where everything is actually breakable. Parents are your customer base. If you want their business, making both them and their children feel welcome seems like a good place to start.
