Now I find myself popping over to the baby section in Target and looking around like please no one notice that I'm perusing this section to collect weeks worth of fits for my nephew so when this kid hits earthside he has a decent sized wardrobe. It's somehow become an obligation to look in stores like Carter's when I'm near them. I stopped in over the weekend because I keep feeling the need to "just see" what's around. I picked up several new items for this little dude and most of the store was 40% off. I don't have a clue in the world about babies or small children so I'm buying all random sizes and as much as it would have been nice for our children to be close in age and me ask to use these fits in the future, that's never happening!!! Love Carter's always have! The quality still seems ok for little toss on items. If there's some new really cute baby gear store that I have no idea about, I'd love you to drop them in my dm's because while this is not my first rodeo I haven't been in this arena in 2.5 decades. Great store, selection and prices. I've gotta pump the brakes on his wardrobe and focus on mine since one of us will only be able to wear things for a couple months until they outgrow them. No one greeted us, and when we approached the register to check out, the cashier had her back turned to us while we stood at the counter. We waited several minutes before being acknowledged. When she finally turned around, the interaction was not very pleasant. Customer service plays a big role in the shopping experience, and this visit fell short in that area. My…read moreissue is with a fitting room policy that makes absolutely no sense from a customer's perspective. I walked into the fitting room area with three shirts. The employee counted them which is completely reasonable. Then I was told I could not enter because they were not on hangers. I explained that I picked them up from the sales floor without hangers and asked for three hangers. They gave them to me but then told me I still had to place every shirt back onto the rack outside the fitting room before I could go in. So I had to hang the shirts on the rack outside the dressing room just so I could walk inside and immediately remove them again. There was no purpose to it other than creating extra work and slowing the process down. As I was leaving I watched another customer get stopped because she had not rehung her clothing before exiting. Customers are now expected to do work that fitting room attendants have always handled. Retail stores are competing with online shopping where convenience is everything. Policies like this make the in store experience slower more frustrating and less enjoyable. I hope someone at the corporate level reevaluates whether this policy is actually helping anyone because from a customer's perspective it only creates unnecessary inconvenience.
