a sign for a dog park
    Jenn M.

Well, aren't these guys just the sweetest?!? This is a great place to stop for a rest. They have showers and laundry. The bathroom was clean, even in the middle of the night. Their dog park is amazing! Almost makes me wish I had a dog. One would think that all truck stops would be friendly towards long distance drivers, regardless of what kind of vehicle they drive. Sadly, one would be wrong. Not all of them are. I don't get it, but this is the way of the world. So, I was a bit nervous when I parked here for the night. Turns out, there was no need to be nervous. The employees here are great. I went into the store and I came in right behind a woman who was walking quite speedily. The clerk looked up when she came in, smiled, and said, "Down the hall to your right." :) I went back in around midnight and the night clerk chatted with me. Classic "where you been, where you going chat." He told me to be safe and said I should feel free to grab some sleep in the parking lot, if I needed. It was really nice and I felt very welcome.

Saw a worker pick up cups that fell on the dirty floor and place them back in the cup holder. Disgusting

Now that the On-Cue brand has taken over the station and added a dog park, I foresee this as being a mandatory stop for us, particularly when we're heading north.

My husband told me we had to hurry, so immediately we were on a time limit and dammit he knows my speed! I entered into a clean spacious store with a nice layout and no greeting. On the right it looks as though they temporarily shut down their restaurant with white plastic covering the menu. Though, they did make up for it by having many other hot food options. We grabbed two hot toasters with sausage, egg and cheese and fountain drinks then hurried to get in line for checkout. No one in line was practicing the distance rule. This is what we sometimes have to face when we have no choice but to be out in the public. Dylon was our cashier this bright beautiful morning. He was very quick, professional and curteous. His telepathic senses must have told him that we had to go! So he sped us through the register with no problems at all. Nice work Dylon!! Back out in the truck we ate the toasters, and they were perfect. The toast wasn't hard and it wasn't too buttery, plus they were very filling. Well done Jiffy Trip! We know now why you have lots customers, it's because you're just that darn good! Thanks for the quick service you gave us this morning, my husband is very happy to be rollin those wheels again.

They told me they charge 25 cents for anything over one. Headed down the road and started eating my chicken. I expected it to be fresh and moist since it was just lunch time. I was wrong. It was dry as a bone and almost tasteless. It must have been left from the day before or cooked at 5 that morning. I wouldn't recommend eating here if you have another option.

They do still have that $1 drink sign in the window that is the size of the front door. Kind of a bait and switch thing. Although I usually get off the phone to check out, at this point my phone was nearly out of batteries and I was discussing my grandmother who had just gone in the hospital back home (4.5 hours away for me) with my boyfriend to give him an update on how he can help out the family. The young BOY working behind the counter as I checked out thought it would be FUNNY to yell "HI! HELLLLOOO!! HOW ARE YOU????" while bending down a bit to look under my hat right into my eye. So I told my boyfriend to hang on a second. I set my phone down on the counter, he looked at the name on the phone and started yelling "HI SHAWN", my boyfriend's name, " HOW ARE YOU?! I"M OK JUST UP HERE WORKING LISTENING TO LED ZEPPELIN" While this is going on I am clearly getting upset by it and he just chuckles as the DITZY GIRL clerk behind him just stupidly twirls her hair and giggles like a complete airhead. The boy's eyes were dilated. He was clearly on drugs. THIS BOY SHOULD BE FIRED.

Finally getting to the counter, the guy said "Yeah, our new pumps don't work very good. You have to pre-pay." (Sure would've been nice if there had been a sign saying so.) So we pre-payed. Went back to the pump, and it still wouldn't pump! Went back inside. Waited in a long line again. Reaching the register, we asked for our money back. The guy was like, "What kind of gas did you say you wanted?", and we said "91". "OH! I entered 'Plus' (89)". Really? The effing pump won't work without pre-picking the exact right octane? We got our money back. Went to Stillwater and bought gas at a station that knew how to sell it.

But there were several interesting things about this stop. First, they have an area off the parking lots with pony's. Inside the store, they encourage people to write messages on the wall (asking them to keep comments suitable for work) and the walls are covered with writing. The store also carries some items not usually seen in rural gas stops, including Icelandic drinking water. The store is decorated in a Western theme and was fun to walk around in. Although the gas pumps don't take Apple Pay, the store registers do. Easy access from the Interstate and back onto it.
