This is what happened to me ..... We gave Eric Rubin from UNITED ARTISANS - BUILDING AND REMODELING a deposit to start building our home. He put his partner Rich Jewell in charge but he was impossible to reach to get updates , they barely started the job and didn't complete what we agreed in the contract. Due to legal and a messy issues , we terminated him. Eric agreed he didn't perform his job due to all kind of excuses and signed the termination . He gave us records of what he spent with the deposit and whats left to give us back. We gave him 2 weeks (14 business days) to return the rest of the money but of course he is not responding to texts, calls or emails. We sent a demand letter asking for the money back but of course it seems that we will need to go to court . Never pressured me for the deposits and always asked me to come out to see the progress they had made that day. Kyle is a very hard working guy and will stay until the job is done right. The discount we requested was satisfactory as it…read moreshould cover the cost of fixing the screen that was damaged during work and replaced (see pic) and some of the siding, and the electrical outlet issue, we had the same experience as others in that workers were not showing time, or would cancel last minute. Contractor estimated 3 days and the work took approximately 3 weeks. No one has come out for the punch list items after Tom said he would send someone out about 2 weeks ago. No paperwork was provided with the sliding door- so no manufacturer warranty. We don't expect any further contact.
