Jesse James Carpentry removed an old sun room and replaced it with a larger 3-season porch. We love the way it looks and a friend of ours said "it looks like a new house"! He took a job he didn't understand and did not have the knowledge to complete. He had to be taken off the job. Out of anger he instructed his employee to complete their now smaller role in the job incorrectly. I caught this and made sure the guy did it right. After this winter I discovered the work he did before he was called off the job was also not correct, as I have a leaky new roof. Carpentry jobs are too important and expensive to take chances with subpar work or an arrogant , vindictive, entitled and unqualified carpenter. Don't take chances with this guy. read more

I hired Jesse to do a complete bathroom remodel and he showed up on time and completed the job in a very timely manner so we weren't inconvenienced for very long. That's saying something when you consider it required a new toilet and moving it's existing location, remove a tub and install a shower as well as a new sink. We also had him move the existing bathroom door and install new lighting and medicine chest. The work was done very professionally and my wife and I couldn't be happier with our new bathroom. We hired Jesse to do a few jobs for us, such as replacing rotting exterior trim and framing out an exterior door with custom trim. He started those jobs and we had to continue to contact him to return. Seeing how he seemed to always be too busy, we should have never hired him to extend a deck and add a covered porch, but we had waited and decided to go with him to get the job completed before the fall. Big mistake. He would give us start dates and always push them back. When he ordered product for the project, it sat for a while in our back yard and he was not there to make sure the product was correct (and some of it wasn't - we did the calling to correct it). When he finally started, he would show up a day, then disappear for days saying he was busy with other jobs. When we protested he would say that his other clients would not be happy if he left their job for ours. We had safety issues, such as tearing down a set of stairs and not putting anything temporary in -- we had to ride him to comeback to fix it. It was never a scheduling problem that he caused, it was us being too demanding. Many times he would send his subs - without any supervision from him in person at all - to finish a particular task. We complained about one his contractors sitting on our roof with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth and he said "what do you want me to do?" He would come late morning many times and leave early telling me he had to coach his son's soccer team, pick them up from school, or deal with other family issues. Our job site was cleaned up a few times by my husband and I, including trash (construction and other), cigarette butts, etc... We had to alter and change aspects of the design because he did not think them through properly. We omitted a part of the design and he still ran over by several weeks (he promised us 2 weeks), and he ran over budget. When he showed up the last day to get the check, he tried to charge us hundreds more than he quoted. When we refused to pay the extra, he allowed his people do shoddy work to finish us and some things are not done at all. Nothing was ever his fault and he dealt with any issues with arrogance and a complete lack of respect for what his customers go through. To add insult to injury, he posted our project, complete with location, on his Facebook page. When we asked him to take them down, he did, but then he added them to his website later on. read more
