She taught me about what the organization provided and as a family we participated in their food and clothing drives at church. Security staff are relentlessly rude and will put out the person on the receiving end of a scuffle rather than the instigator. SMDH! Expect to jettison what few belongings you might have. Needed an electrical outlet to run my CPAP at night. I had to jump through hoops for days to get moved to a bunk near an outlet. Then other guys would unplug my machine in the middle of the night to misuse the outlet to charge their phones. Do not leave anything of the slightest value unattended--it WILL be stolen. If you want to lock your storage drawer you will need to foot the bill for a lock. Avoid, even if it's your last resort.

It was a great experience…read more This is a small neo-Pentecostal church which has the good qualities of a much larger contemporary style church and yet maintains the best qualities of a small church. The congregation is made up of a nice balance of young, middle and older people. The worship is as good as it gets anywhere. One thing I haven't seen before is that the worship team returns after the sermon and continues the praise as an afterglow. But, back to the beginning. Before the service you can come in at 9 am for breakfast and fellowship. The worship service starts at 10 am on Sundays and is the expected hour and a half long with the afterglow going to about noon. They do, however, need to make that schedule clear on their website and app. Their greeters are top notch. Dave and Carolyn introduced themselves to us right away, Dave having spotted us before we got to the front door! The pastor, Justin, is a very good preacher. For me that means that the sermon was helpful for my spiritual life. He is skilled in delivering a message that you don't forget as soon as you walk out the church door. He made a special effort to come up to us at the end of the service. He said "I'm Justin" and asked our names. Made me feel welcome and at ease. They have an app, which can be used for giving as well as providing information. They will probably see us again. Want to check out the breakfast, too! They would rather woman just go away when they don't like them. They filter us out! I am sorry but I was discriminated again because I had an emotional support animal and they just want us gone because of a situation they caused and admitted later they are not equipped for that level of care which cost me and others there safety more then a couple of times! This was due to lack of employees! They are all quitting because of the woman Makita sorry she never took the time to introduce herself to me so I think that her name. In my eight week stay I saw 4 employees quit! When I left they had NO CASEWORKER, They were now short a counselor and 2 advocates! 4 of us went back to our situations or worse because they left us honestly NO OTHER CHOICE! I was tormented more in there then I was where I came from. They put me in danger more then once and broke HIPPA Information about medical and personally protected information. Not only to me they told my roommate peoples medical information. Something needs to be done before you read about one of us dead because No one cared enough to investigate the situation. I even cried out to my advocates at Noah DVstop I called anyone I thought could help me because I was unsafe and told I could do nothing about it I had to leave my safety up to staff members that escalated the situation to get rid of us! Well yes we are all gone employees and clients and the clients I am talking about didn't get an option of housing or transitional. So still they are receiving funding and not helping the woman

EVMC has a 94-bed shelter that provides comprehensive programs and strategies for each resident. For many men facing challenges because of past substance abuse, criminal involvement, life changing events or simply a long life on the streets, it means a long road back and that journey starts here. EVMC does pre-screened of potential residents before enrollment. They are asked to be candid about the problems that resulted in their homelessness. Once at the facility, EVMC staff ensure that each resident comply with established rules. During their stay, all residents must work full-time and save 85% of their income. Some area churches has given bicycles, reflectors, helmet to help residents travel to these jobs. A New Leaf and EVMC believes that the key to success for the residents in re-entering society is providing life skills training, work assistance, counseling, socialization skills, food, basic needs and shelter. There are also Case Managers who work individually with residents to set personal goals and address their barriers in becoming productive and contributing members of society. The Quality I received was throough, as I got help getting off the street. I think they liked my dog, as they took care of him first. Shots, License, check-up. I love Justa Center as they are perfect for getting help when you are homeless. It has been close to 3 years, and I am getting ready to go homeless again, as I am having surgury in the next week, and cannot work to pay my rent. I need more help, this time with a pro bono lawyer about my past that stops me from getting a place I can actually afford. It has been over 23 years, and I still have a record that says 'just live in your car' and my record is really old and now the drug is legal. Case worker Nokia would not return calls or address our concerns . The place was poorly run at best. One major issue I had was employees taking things donations that were to go to residents. This included food clothes and purses. Yes many of the donated bags went to employees. The receptionist Jasmine liked to show off her Micheal Kors bag she was"Given". I wonder how the ladies who gave their bags would feel if they knew the employees now had them and no donation was.given to those in need.
