On the day of my party, Mickey started late, could barely see out of the costume, was inaudible, and completely unable to engage the children. When I look back at the video footage, I get even angrier at the lack of energy that Mickey displayed at my son's birthday. Mickey didn't even stay for the full hour. The children were bored and uninterested. To make matters worse, Pam called me the night before the party to see if MY husband could buy batteries for HER stereo. Turns out my venue had outlets, but it didn't matter because the stereo did NOT work plugged in.

We used her full services for everything with the wedding from designing the engagement picture shoot, bridal shoot, to flower design, table settings, invitation designs, and everything else that falls in between for a wedding. She took all of my hard requests and executed them. For example, I wanted an aisle runner made completely out of pages from Harry Potter books and she made it happen. I also requested to have an owl as our ring bearer and she managed to find a company in Texas that offered those services. My final request was to have candles that looked as if they were floating from the ceiling and she made that dream a reality too. Trust me I had some "out there" request and Kat didn't even balk at them, she tackled them head on. My wedding was planned down to the last detail and it came out looking amazing. It was definitely a wedding that none of our guests will forget in a long time. Kat is one of the top wedding planners in Houston and it shows in her work and she has so much passion for her job so she really puts all she has into everyone's wedding that she plans. My only advice to future brides would be to make sure that Kat is present in the original negotiations of what kind of services her company will or will not be providing you, that way you don't fall into a situation where one of her assistants promises you more services than were being stated in the contract that you sign, which is what happened to us in the beginning. Luckily, Kat did rectify this issue and sat down with us to re-negotiate our contract so it truly reflected the services that we did want. I don't see this as a bad reflection on Kat or her company, just an unfortunate start to our wedding planning experience; but Kat did manage to right all of the wrongs and worked hard to give our wedding planning experience a quick 180 and it turned out magnificent on the day of. Kat brought a team of two day of coordinators with her to our wedding and they did a wonderful job keeping us on Kat's timeline and making sure everything went smoothly. If there were any hiccups at the wedding I have no idea that they even happened because Kat and her team handled everything so smoothly. Kat was fantastic to work with she really knows this business and has a lot of great connections so you don't have to run around looking for vendors since Kat already has a bunch that she can recommend to you to work with. We used almost all of Kat's recommended vendors for our wedding and they were all fantastic. Kat is quick to respond to emails and really takes the time to get to know her clients so she can make your dream wedding come to life. She is also very good at making sure that you stay within your budget. To cut money cost Kat offers a lot of in house design elements that really help to bring down the budget; but still look fantastic. Kat deigned and put together all of our wedding invitations, menus, table number holder and place cards for us and they were all custom made to fit our theme. She will also pick up any extra props that you need for the wedding as well Kat will personally pick them up for you and bring them to the wedding so that you don't have to worry about getting it and transporting wedding stuff to the venue the day of you can relax and just brings your dress and jewelry. We really appreciated that, it made it much more stress free for us the day of the wedding knowing that Kat had everything we needed and knew how to get everything set up in the strict 1 hour set up time our venue allotted. Kat really has an eye for details and takes direction very well but she also knows when you need to have something and isn't afraid to voice her opinion on why you should include it. For example, we just didn't see the benefit of having a dance floor, it was going to be $1,200 extra and we felt like the floor was good enough. She did persuade us into changing our mind and on the night of the wedding we had to admit that she was right the dance floor made a big difference in the room and we were very happy we listened to her. I would highly recommend Kat Creech Events to any future bride; she will make sure you have an unforgettable day.

First, Liz asked us what we would be wearing and, then, what types of designs we had in mind. She also gave specific and useful advice about how to prepare our skin for the painting. On the day of her appointment, Liz arrived on time and armed with a makeup case of deeply saturated pigments, glitter, and stick-on gems. She also had printed out enlarged photos of the designs we liked and discussed her thoughts about the color palette based on our intended costumes and coloring. And then she went to work. In one of her other creative lives, Liz is a figurative painter and it shows in her gentle, but effective brushstrokes in creating flowers, vines, and other decorative figures. Her finished work on me was a knockout, and based on classic Mexican majolica. My partner's design was equally stunning, as well as witty. Liz fixed both designs with a spray fixative, which was easy to wear but tough enough to keep the design in place and intact for eight hours. And during that time we received tons of compliments for Liz's incredible work. I can't recommend her highly enough!

I highly recommend NOT using Houston Characters. Setting up a Mickey-like character was easy…read moreenough on the phone - I indicated that I wanted Package B: 45 minutes of Fun & Games. They took my deposit via phone. My party was going from 10 am to Noon for a bunch of 2-3 year olds, and I booked the character from 10:30 am to 11:15 am so that the kids could dance, play games, take pictures, etc from 10:30 to 11:05 am, and then we sing happy birthday and finish up at 11:10 am (my pizza was being delivered at 11 am). I was told the day before that the character would call me in the morning to find out if the party was indoors or outdoors so he would know what shoes to bring. I never got a call in the morning, so at 9:40 am, I called the main number and no one answered. I called again at 10 am and got someone and they said the character was on his way and that he had picked up both sets of shoes. At 10:35 am, no character still, so I called again and the lady told me that the character was there (he supposedly had messaged her), but perhaps he was parked down the street getting dressed b/c he would be coming in costume. The character showed up at my door at 10:48 am - NOT in costume. He spent about 5 minutes setting up his speaker/iPod, and then asked for payment before getting dressed (which I had ready for all of the vendors that day so I went ahead and gave it to him - I wish I hadn't but at this point I wanted him to hurry up and get the show on the road!). He then went upstairs to get dressed (another 5-7 minutes). When he finally came down and made his entrance, it was 11:05 am - a full 35 minutes AFTER he was scheduled to start! Mind you, the pizza had already been delivered at this point and was getting cold. The character did 15 minutes of dance to songs (one of the songs he pulled out a parachute to lift up and down). No games were played. Then at 11:20 am we started taking pictures. At 11:27 am we cut the cake and had the kids start eating lunch (at this point we were running 30 minutes behind b/c of the character being so late). The character pretty much just stood around for the rest of the time since the kids were all eating. All in all, I paid for a package that included 45 minutes of Fun & Games. Not a single game was played. The Fun was only for 27 minutes and the rest of the time he was standing around b/c he came so late. I don't know why the character was messaging the main office that he was at the location on time when he wasn't! What's even more annoying is that I spent a good 45 minutes on the phone during my daughter's birthday party dealing with the situation (when I should have been enjoying the party!). I called them the Monday after and was told that someone would call me back by Wednesday to discuss the matter. No one called. I have called another 3-4 times since then over the course of two weeks and left messages, and no one answers the phone or returns my call. Overall, I do NOT recommend using this company. Customer service is lacking and they have no sense of keeping to a schedule. Starting 35 minutes when you are only scheduled for a 45 minute session for a 2 hour party is completely unacceptable. Even if you stay the full 45 minutes just standing around to kill time to hit your 45 minutes, it's not acceptable to arrive that late!

The lady who came to impersonate sponge bob came in the house first to set up her radio. She was very professional. She took the rest of the money I owed her in cash at that time before going to put on the costume near her car. The kids enjoyed the show and were still talking about it the next day. Everyone got to dance, take pictures, and sing happy birthday with sponge bob. I was dangerously close to putting on my mud mask and doing a clown routine for the kids (which would have been a disaster). I really feel blessed that there was a company that did not charge as much as the others and still made my daughter's birthday party an awesome one that she will always remember!
