This place had scam written all over it from the get-go. The person who called me to schedule an interview was vague (red flag #1). My appointment was 12:30 sharp, when I walked in it was standing room only and looked as if everybody else had been told to arrive at the same time (red flag #2). When asked if there a fee associated with registering with their agency the receptionist to me that she doesn't know, she's "just the receptionist" (red flag #3). At that point it was clear that these people were running a scam, so I said "thanks but this is not for me". Before I left I warned those within earshot and said "don't let them get your money. Anybody that charges you a fee to work is breaking the law". To which the receptionist sarcastically yelled, "thank you!" as if to say "leave!". I also noticed lots of parents with kids. SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!! They call you and ask you if you are interested in coming to an audition. Then they when you show up, you are one of about 25 or so people. Some clown named Lance comes in and shares this rehearsed speech about how he is the most important person in the world and that you might not make it during the interview, and that it will cost money to take professional pictures. Everyone that is called in is asked to a few questions, and the representative shares that he/she likes you and wants to interview you the following day. You schedule a time and leave through the back. The following day, they ask you to read a commercial script. The agent says that she is going to go and talk with her associates, whom are coincidentally busy with other potential candidates. She leaves and comes back twice, then she informs you "that after an extended consideration, they really like you and want to SIGN YOU." Then you have to initial that will pay them $40 a month and give them $600. LOL When I asked what that money was for, it was to upload camera photos on their website. YOU MEAN LIKE FACEBOOK? lol HUSTLER's HUSTLER's HUSTLER's They prey on vulnerable victims. I have been in two commercials without the help of an agency. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!! I had an appointment where you sit in a room with a flat screen and they call you up where they take your measurements and a few pictures. They send you back to the room where this pretty boy with an australian accent gives this rehearsed speech how they're looking for people with personality and talent. He says how HE has a few different offices, in New York, San Fran and Chicago. Yada yada. Then comes the interview where you sit one on one with some of the ladies there and ask you some personal questions about yourself. They then give you a date to come back for another interview. At this point, I should've realized how UNLEGIT this place is. I return the following day and meet this young lady Lauren. She had 3-4 questions written down on a piece of paper and literarily read them to me. Like.... Geez. Her tone was insecure and I even made her stump on her words. She then told me that she is going to go talk with Mr. Spencer about me. Returns approximately 3 minutes later and SURPRISE SURPRISE, they want to sign you. (They tell this to everyone but they make you feel special, which is how they get your money). She told me that they felt I would be great for catalogue modelling (yet they never asked me to rehearse scripts), AND HERE COMES THE PAPERWORK. Right off the bat, $149 initial fee to set you up a website, headshot photoshoots and build you an acting resume. Then they want $40 monthly, " because you don't want to run around LA with the same pictures," meaning for future retakes. LISTEN. If an agency wants you and sees your potential, YOU DONT HAVE TO PAY A DIME. Now, I told her this straight up and she insisted it was a great opportunity because they don't make commission from your paying gigs. If you don't realize how many empty promises they're giving you at this point besides some stupid pictures...stop reading. Everyone on here hasn't signed with them and I ended up setting up with them and I have no problem getting jobs. I've done movies, modeling for E! entertainment, hair shows, and other jobs. I made $640 on my first job which I worked for only 3 hours. If you think about it in the end the start up fee pays for itself. I think if your into getting your name out there this isn't a bad start because not just anyone can sign with an agency. Plus agencies take a percentage whereas one source let's you keep it so in the end you pay agencies more. read more

Framed Andy Warhol quotes on the walls and an ugly stone pattern rug on the floor. the receptionist is in the corner listening to music and staring at a computer probably on myspace at the time. They give you some papers to fill out and then you wait some more. they send everyone to another room with chairs in rows with a tv playing the movie The Devil Wears Prada. They make you watch the whole thing. Then a lady walks in, trying to be all professional, but really a stuck up cunt. she talks about the opportunities you have and the success stories blah blah blah then they call you in one by one to evaluate you to see if you can get a call back. I really didn't get a good vibe from them. After being scammed by another casting agency (Explore Talent) , I am a lot more careful about casting agencies. This one looked completely Bush league out of the gate. Their office is small, there no are real talents on their wall at all. You just don't get the vibe that they've done anything special. I did go their meeting/orientation. Yep they were playing the Devil wears Prada like other reviewers pointed out. It's not the type of movie or video I would show if I was going to at least pretend to be a legitimate acting agency. The orientation was the same bs many con casting agencies will tell you. I normally don't write bad reviews about companies because I don't like bashing places but would rather give a good review to a company that deserves it; however, this company is completely unprofessional. After applying for an extra gig on Craigslist, I get a call a couple weeks later from a lady who sounds like she's driving in her car. She doesn't introduce herself at all, so I'm completely confused to begin with. Most people who are applying for jobs apply for so many at once, it's nice to have an introduction to know who is calling you, from where, and what it's regarding. She sounds like she's rummaging around in her car, and she asks me if I want to schedule an interview. I ask her what the gig is for, and she can't seem to give me a straight up answer. I ask her if she can send me an email as to what this is regarding, and she says, "Uhhh, I'll just have someone else call you at a later time. Thanks." (Then hangs up). I get a call from another lady a week later (in the same unprofessional manner--no introduction or anything). She agrees to send me an email. I get the email with two choices of appointment times. I respond saying the one time will work, but before I schedule I'd like to know a little about what job this is regarding, if there's a fee to become a part of the company, and if there is a fee for head shots. I get no response from her about my questions and she just confirms my appointment slot. I respond a second time saying I won't be attending the appointment, unless someone can answer my couple questions. No response. I then get a call on the day of my "appointment" which I never confirmed. I answer the phone and the lady says, "Is Savannah there?" 'Yes, this is she.' "I'm just confirming your appointment for tonight at 7:30." 'Who is this?' She didn't even say her name, what this was regarding or ANYTHING! SOOO unprofessional. I proceeded to ask her the questions I emailed in earlier, and she goes "Well since this is regarding an audition I'm not sure we want to proceed with you in this industry." Like they own the industry or something. So I kindly said that if she wants people to take this company seriously they should first of all introduce themselves on the phone, state what the job is regarding, and respond promptly to questions asked regarding the company since it was found on Craigslist which most people find sketch anyway. I am a sucker I just moved to the LA area. This is what I have paid to date with no page as promised and NO touch up pictures for my two daughters. Set up fee for each $200 plus the monthly fee of $40. That's $480 the first day, just to sign up. Then they asked us back the next week to give input for each of their pages, while we 're there they make an appointment for my girls for a photo shoot with Jerome the photographer, and with Ishtar the makeup artist (at what we were told the affordable) cost of $1000 each. Then a few weeks later we get a call from Spencer saying that he wants us to call Allison to retouch pictures. I'm thinking shouldn't that be included in the $1000 photo shoot? The answer is no! They asked us to pay an additional $2470 to fix the photo shoot pictures. When we ask Allison she says that she didn't realize that my girls were sisters so she offers half off $1240 and stupidly I paid. My girls don't have the page promised. Even though we have paid for photo shoot with Jerome and Ishtar, and for Allison to retouch, no retouched pictures. My girls are heartbroken and I feel scammed! I asked specific questions, are you their agent? She said yes. We did all the castings for the show fear factor. They do castings for Nickolodian, Disney, Abercrombie, and many more they cast movies, tv shows, commercials jobs and print jobs, and modeling. They said they only take serious candidates ready to work, when my girls make money, they make money. No page equals No job offers. I want All my money back. The first time you go in, you are placed in a room with about 30 other people, where they go over general info about getting into the acting and modeling business. They make no mention that you have to pay them $500 in advance! Then they schedule you for a one-on-one interview, tell you the things you want to hear, and make promises of you making it big! It's only when you go in for your second interview that they mention as a side note, that you have to pay them $500 in "marketing" fees and about $40 monthly for maintenance fees. If it sounds too good to be true, it's a SCAM! **Please refer to KREKORIAN TALENT SCAM PREVENTION ACT** So this is how my experience went. I must have signed up on their website online. The phone calls started. "We have decided you have a unique look, you are what we are looking for...blah blah blah". I ignored them and they kept calling and emailing. The voice-mails and emails already had me scheduled for specific dates and times. I ignored that again, scam scam scam. Until one day I had a casting near their office and decided oh what the hell I'll give them a try. They confirmed a few times by email and even by phone. The email stressed that punctuality is important and to come 15mins early before 7pm... Also the email said we should sort of dress up, no sandals or too casual but jeans were ok. I was coming from another casting in nice make-up, hair, dress and even bough high heels. Late, but finally at the address, a young woman my age stood outside asking if she could help me. I told her I was looking for One Source Talent and she said yes its this way, but you are really late (15mins late) and they usually don't let late people in. I saw people sitting in the small lobby but I said ok no problem and was about to leave because honestly I didn't think this was a real agency anyways, although they are located on a very visible part of the street and are the first suite you see in the nice building. The young woman told me to wait a second while she asked if it was ok for me to stay, it was and she had me fill out some paperwork. I did and asked if they had a bathroom. I was told no and I would have to walk down the street to Bed Bath and Beyond for a bathroom, WHAT, no bathroom at all considering all the people and kids you have in your office everyday? She wouldn't tell me if there was a bathroom in the whole office building which I am positive there was. Well at least she was polite. So I patiently waited in the small lobby for maybe 20 minutes doing nothing. Meanwhile there was an older African American lady next to me who didn't look like a model or an actress, another African American lady with a kid and an older Hispanic gentleman. I heard some loud,convincingly annoying voice mumbling something from the other room, where I was not allowed to go into even though I really wasn't that much late. I wondered what he was trying to sell to the hopefuls in the other room and why he would be talking so loudly if there were not that many people. Finally another African American lady and child came out of the other room and the door lady told us "you can go in now". I enter the other room and see 10-20 people seated in what looks like a classroom staring at at tv. Almost all of them are African American, maybe a few Hispanic and maybe another Caucasian family besides me. Almost none of them are as dressed as me and I raise some eyebrows. None of them looked like professional actors,one looked like she could be model. The front desk girls stand at the door with a clipboard leering over who could possibly pay for their next meal in the room, calling out names as families or single hopefuls go in one by one. I even heard a dog barking. After an hour I'm called in. As I go into some room I'm greeted by a hatted character who orders me to stand in front of his desk. I'm guessing he was the presenter of the lecture I missed earlier. He begins asking me some questions about my experience, his tone seems to get condescending and like he's not there to work with me as a professional representative of a model or actress. He sneaks in some comments about my age (AGE IS ALWAYS IRRELEVANT IN ANY NORMAL AGENCY, THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THE AGE YOU CAN PORTRAY). He then asks me if I have a regular job a couple of times. I mention that I have one but it allows me to have a free schedule to work anytime. Then he asks where my family is (who cares really it should be none of his business). He asks me if I have a head shot and I say yes but I didn't bring it, and that I have comp-cards I can update to be current. I also tell him I had an agent in San Francisco before and have done several jobs. He then starts slamming that I need to get great head shots because the ones I have (which I'm sure he didn't see even though I emailed it to them) are not good enough. I need to get ones that costs around $500. Umn no I don't you can get a decent one for free to - $200 as a model. So about 1min after I go in, the tirade ends with me getting no useful information what-so-ever. He says that I can come back when I have some decent headshots...WHAT? you have't seen mine. I ask how I can get him the ones I have and he tosses his business card to me and tells me I can go...OKKKK obviously not going to send him anything. TOTAL SCAM AND BS, DON'T WASTE TIME! BTW, none of the 3 staff people (two receptionists and the hat dude) looked older then 25 and don't look even mildly qualified to be running an office or getting your $. read more

I am so grateful that I read the reviews regarding One Source. I forgot that I had looked on line to apply for this agency when I get some missed calls on my phone with no message left "this should have been and was my first sign." The second sign was when I asked specifically if they charged a fee, the girl (no name) said that there was no fee involved, as she also attempted up to scamble up fill in words to invest in the lie that she was telling (or at least from what I see from the reviews regarding the fee, verifies this statement to be true). I asked additional questions that seemed to be skeptical sketchy responses back as well. Since I forgot who the company was I signed up for, I agreed to go Thursday at 7pm although they had several days available. After reading the reviews I immediately realized what my gut was telling me since this company reminded me of a scam company back in the days, faces international. I called the girl back to cancel, she had given me her direct extension. I let her know to please cancel me and she asked me why. I let her know I did reviews, and she mentioned this was what she thought, and goes to say that only 10-15% of what people were saying were true and that you have to invest in yourself in the industry etc etc and if you have a comp card some people are waived and that its not true not everyone pays etc etc. I also let her know that she said there would be no fee and I read about the $500 fee, and she goes onto to give me some other explanations on how that was not true yada yada.... I am not thirsty to be an actress at all since the true meaning for hypocrite is actor in the greek; however, I do feel I have a talent and that God will allow that talent to be used if and when its time. OneSource states that those agents take a percentage of earnings (correct) as their fee. OneSource also indicates that you don't have a choice of photographers or other marketing tools...that you must use the agencies choices. NOT TRUE! A legitimate agency will not insist on a certain photographer. Also, a legitimate agency will NOT ask for money upfront. Again, they make their money from your bookings. Called me to "discuss our application to their agency". I keep detailed records and already knew their reputation. I asked the caller what the application was for. He made some story up. I'm a professional actor and voice over artist, and have been since I was 12yrs old (I'm in my early 30's as of writing this). One Source is NOT A REAL AGENCY. It's a falsified Hunter/Prey company. They never send anyone out on auditions (to which you must pay them ahead of time for), and they demand a 20% Agency fee! That is ridiculous. 10% is standard. When I went, there was a transgender male there asking me to audition for him. When I asked would it be for acting or modeling, he said both. I started to give my monologue, and during my presentation that dude starts to text message someone! I stopped and said that was extremely rude. Next he tells me that I have "it" and that One Source could take me places, for around $600 of course lol! I told him that a true AGENCY world never charge talent money up front. I hopped on Yelp and started laughing at the reviews because they were all accurate. One z source is a fake agency with garbage businesses practices from the late 80's. The staff is constantly turned over every few months. Listen to a real person. Do your research first, and never pay a single cent for anything other than training and headshots. I got a call back, and luckily it was picked up by voice mail. The woman calling (Kent,WA) was hard to understand, and very vague about the process - despite me asking specific questions in my initial contact email "Before I would show up, I need to know...." She didn't answer any of them. I drove by their location and it looks like it was put up quickly. I stuck my head in and asked a question, and "Do you have an appointment?" "No, just walking by.." and they said "No problem, come in, we're starting another; Do I have to pay?" "I don't know about that, I'm just the receptionist" When i asked to speak to the lady that called; she got noticeably frustrated that I knew more than I was letting on - "Come back when you have a proper appointment". I will be completely honest about my experience. I was skeptical at first...too good to be true I thought. Though, I have heard many success stories from One Source and great opportunities. I read the bad reviews before going to interview so I knew what to expect but instead, I was pleased. I didn't have to pay some crazy admission fee. I had to pay an acceptable amount for the database(Which is actually normal for this kind of company) and I was asked to pay $150 for the comp card(photographer and makeup included). $150 is actually an amazing price to receive a comp card from a company if you do your research. My advice, if you have problems...don't run away. Call the main office and explain your experience. They may be willing to meet you half way or even cover the price if you seem like a good fit.
