While traveling from Indianapolis to St. Louis, my rental car developed a leak in the left front tire. Budget could not provide any service (without a promised hour's wait), but finally suggested that if I took it to a tire store, they would "consider" paying for either a new tire or fixing the existing one. With their help, we identified that not only was Southern Tire Mart at Pilot close, but they were still open. After weaving through the dozens and dozens of semis in my small car, I happened on the tire store. Amazing service from Christopher Wilson, the manager. Not only did he provide prompt service, he was a delight to do business with. His helper was courteous and industrious, and they soon had me on my way. What started as a real disappointment on my trip became a fun experience because of the quality of care and service. Also, it was quite affordable. I know they changed owners a while back, sadly. A few days ago I had a bad noise coming from the front of my car, serpentine belt related. One of the idler pulleys came off while driving there. I left it for an estimate. Well, I get a call the next day and they quote me 2 prices. With bad pulleys and belt - $527 With tensioner, all pulleys, and belt $1,157. I was gobsmacked. Im on social security so i told them no and picked up after paying the diagnostic fee. I have always worked on my own cars until i turned 69,, lol. Decided to do it myself. Gates Serpentine Kit $325. Turns out it is an easy job on my Infiniti G37X. Less than an hour start to finisn. I know garages charge more on parts but even if kit was $600 that would be $550 for labor. Like i say i know everything is more expensive. Seems like they want timing belt replacement prices for a serpentine belt. I need recommendations for a new shop.​

They were able to diagnose it correctly and fix for around $200. I came in worried about the transmission so $200 was ok! And they did fix the problem a few months later. Another visit with a different vehicle, asked for an oil change and just confirm there are no problems before we went on a road trip. $100 for that oil change and health check which seemed really high. Bottom line, they seem like solid mechanics. Just be prepared to pay!

I have a sensor problem with my brakes. He proceeded to tell me that it was my transmission. I don't know how he thinks that's going to work. I told him that the thumping happens between 30-40mph. He took the car on I-70. He said nothing is wrong with my car. The TPMS light was on so he reset that. Next day it was back on. He said if he didn't see it he couldn't fix it.
