My air conditioner unexpectedly went out in the middle of a multi-state trip far from home and I was fortunate to find Thompson's Honda nearby to help me, especially with temperatures in the high 80s. I am forever grateful for the excellent service and the care I was extended by service advisor Scott Foote and the Thompson team. In a time of need, he really helped facilitate the diagnostic evaluation despite their full schedule. When they didn't have the part needed, he personally assisted me in securing a rental vehicle through another dealership and helped ensure I had excellent service every step of the way, explained everything clearly and outlined costs with clarity and transparency. His attention to detail and compassionate care are second to none. I was traveling from St. Louis home to Cincinnati. It was a miserable day--heavy rain. I was stranded on the interstate for two hours. Yep, I was getting a little wiggy. A tow truck towed me to Thompson's Honda. As car dealer service departments are "appointment only" , I expected that I'd be spending the night, or renting a car to get home. (( And a rental would mean I'd be driving back 200 miles some day in the future. "Man-O-Man!" ( I cleaned up my language for Yelp) ) The service advisors gained my confidence immediately--I could tell they REALLY appreciated my angst from being stranded in the rain for two hours, and that I had a long haul home. Sure there were appointments ahead of me, but they gave me a good idea as to when the techs could perform diagonostics. Their estimate was spot on. I was feeling much better--less angst. I hadn't eaten. I asked if they had a loaner-car that I could use to fetch food. They immediately provided one. Nice. I was on the road in less than three hours. I took the time to write this for one reason--the service advisors-- made me confident that I was in good hands. Friendly and professional. read more

Good selection. Two doctors, we came in dressed in shorts and t-shirts to test drive a Honda Pilot. 20-30 minutes later, still invisible to multiple salesman, we left, haven't been never addressed by anyone. My guess, wear a suit and a tie heading to this dealership. read more

I went to the Service Department on 8/11/2020 to have my first oil change done on my new CR-V as I was too busy to do it myself. Last week a did my second oil change, this time doing it myself. I crawled under the car and found the screws stripped on the skid plate that needs to be removed to change the oil, the skid plate hanging down and the plastic piece under the bumper cracked. The car hasn't been touched by anyone other than Thompson's Honda Service department before I changed the oil. A brand new $30,000 car and the service department doesn't care if they damage something or not. DO NOT take your car here. read more

We just came in for service (an oil change) in the middle of a long road trip, and they were easy to schedule an appointment with on short notice, quick to take care of our car, and also noticed that our cabin filters had gotten too dirty, which they then handled at a reasonable price. They also had a comfortable and quiet waiting room, and free WiFi. If I ever find myself in Terre Haute again, needing service, I will definitely come back. read more

My partner and I went into Thompson's Honda Terre Haute Indiana to purchase a brand-new Honda Accord Hybrid after we did extensive research to find a great automobile to fit our needs. The sales associate was experienced an addressed our needs professionally and promptly. Unfortunately, when it came to the final step to purchase of the automobile with the manager the experience was insolent. The managers professionalism was discriminatory, and discourteous behavior for a member representing this company. While me and my partner were sitting in the manager's office within five minutes, I had requested to have copies of documentation he stated they keep but we do not get them, I requested a copy anyway. After that ordeal then I started to questioned the Honda disclosure form, immediately while he was shuffling papers, no eye contact at all, stated in a blunt inadequate tone "oh your names is not on the paper work". He appeared very irritated. He at this point was still not making eye contact with either of us and shuffling papers. My partner (the one whom was signing the documents) "state she has my back". The manager then realized by our star struck appearance that his improper behavior and reckless comments were firmly recognized. The feeling we strongly absorbed from the comment was if a female partner was present in the process and was not signing the dotted line she was of less value and insignificant. American lifestyles, shared values and beliefs in matrimony and cultural changes are quite different in today's society than a decade previous. With this being said, if the manager were education in this area, I believe this incident would not have taken place. The manager did not take into consideration my significant other and I are going to purchase another brand-new car, and I would be the one signing on the dotted line. With the horrible experience, unfortunately we will not buy local and defiantly not at Thompsons Honda. And just to add a note we purchased a brand-new car and asked for the perk of weather tech mats and was given an unequivocal no, much to our dissatisfaction. So in no short terms do not ask for any perks from this company, you will not get them. Another note to mention, to this date no one from this company had follow up, or even called us to see if we were satisfied with the product or how our customer satisfaction was at the time of the purchase. Humm another unfortunate example of business practice not focused on customers service after the purchase. read more

We have had 3 Hondas in 15 years living in Terre Haute. One of them was NOT bought from this dealership and has been the lemon of the bunch. We know the staff better than we'd like to because of the lemon car. The staff is good at communicating, troubleshooting, fixing, driving us to work when necessary, and they are professional with everyone. I would recommend buying new or used from them, and having your Honda serviced by them. A++++ read more

My wife and I have been Thompsons Honda owner since 2012. We have owned 2CRV's in this time. One was a 2012CRV and the other, 2015, when we wanted newer and an upgrade. The purchase of both vehicles was a breeze and both the sales and finance departments were great. Now the reason for the review. With our second CRV, the 2015, WOW the issues. From tires to a battery/? issue. The tires were covered under a tire warranty we purchased with the vehicle. There wasn't any issue with the warranty, BUT it took Thompsons 2 weeks to get 2 tires. Really? We have also had issue with tire sensors. Low tire pressure, etc... During cold weather I understand. All that needed done was the use of nitrogen in the tires and done. Thompsons didn't do it another authorized dealer did it for us. Thank you to them. Now for the battery/? issue. The reason there is a ? is due to it still being an unresolved issue. The battery acts as if it dead. Click, Click, Click doesn't start. After use of a jumper pack, it starts right up. This has been ongoing for months now. We had Thompsons check the battery and they told us the battery was good. We did however have the receptionist at the Service Department tell us not to use the amenities, like auto headlights, on the vehicle. Long story short the battery isn't the issue, there is however and issue, still unresolved, with the battery not being charged while in idle and charging while only being driven. Also diagnosed at another authorized dealership. So, my review. Willing and able to sell a vehicle. A plus rating! Ability to diagnose and fix small issues, terrible and frustrating. read more

Absolutely terrible service department. I'd get better maintenance/repair service taking our CR-V to the local high school and letting the Shop class work on it! Multiple times they've replaced things that weren't even close to needing to be replaced (spark plugs last a LOT longer than 12,000 miles). Now I find out that they didn't follow Honda's procedure for flushing the transmission fluid at 120K miles. Instead, they just drained it and filled it back up, and didn't say a word about it. That was 50K miles ago, and I'm only finding out about it because we are starting to have drive train issues. That's the last straw. I'll never go back! read more
