We grab the table on the left just outside. It's great to people watch. They have a decent happy hour for pints of lager and this time we got a Nutella crepe and a shot of the absinthe. The staff are always friendly and seeing the large crowds walk by is fun. Will definitely come back next year!

We split a raclette sandwich and it was really good. It was an experience watching him heat the cheese and melted it directly onto the sandwich which was on a fresh baguette. It's very close to the tertre de arte park. There's no shortage of cafés and restaurants in this area but this one is great for Takeaway there's two very small tables to sit at and it's better to just eat somewhere else. I would definitely come back

Nothing fancy, nothing too in your face and over-priced, just a decent selection of freshly made sandwiches, salads, paninis etc. Good, fresh, competitively priced lunch time goodies. I imagine (although don't know for sure) that this place is open only for breakfast and lunch to cater for the thousands of business people who work in the area (not many residential properties in these parts). You can decide to take away or sit outside on the terrace that is, amazingly, relatively peaceful. Much better value than many of the midday restaurants in the area that happily serve whatever they can get out of the kitchen to feed the hungry suited hoards at midday.

We tried the jambon sandwich and chicken baguette, paired with a golden ale beer and coffee. Both sandwiches were outstanding--freshly made with incredible bread, generous fillings, and a perfect balance of textures. The strong cheese they offer on the side is a must; it pairs beautifully with the sandwiches, and the staff even lets you try it before deciding, which is a great touch. We did go around 2pm and unfortunately the pastrami was already sold out, which speaks to how popular it is. We also waited about 30-40 minutes in line, but it moved steadily and didn't feel too painful. We were lucky to find a spot to dine in, though most people grab their food to go. Service was friendly and quick despite the constant rush. The atmosphere is more grab-and-go than sit-down, with very limited indoor seating. Most people take their sandwiches to enjoy at a nearby park, which actually adds to the experience. Be prepared for a queue, but it moves faster than expected--and the payoff is absolutely worth it for what might be the best sandwich in the city.

These sandwiches are curated, edible pieces of art made with love by the one and only Alain. It's easy to see why they're so popular. People love the sandwiches so much that his stall inside Marche' Des Efants Rouges can see lines lasting upwards of an hour or more. And people stay in the line. We lucked out and only had to wait about twenty minutes. I tell you, I'd wait all day if need be. I often dream of the sandwiches we had and can't wait to have them again. A picture is worth a thousand words and therefore, my photos can tell you everything you need to know about how good the sandwiches were. It makes me smile when I look at the pic of us with Alain. What a wonderful human being producing wonderful food for the people.
