Last Friday, my friend and I decided to go to the One World Observatory to celebrate Nurses's Week and Mother's Day and it was the perfect choice. The views took our breath away and it's absolutely an experience to live. We also had dinner and everything was absolutely delicious. I had the cauliflower for appetizer and the branzino for my main course. I can tell you, I was really happy by how delicious everything was. I was too full for dessert so I had an expressio martini, the best one that I have ever had. If you are in NYC, make sure you save some time to treat yourself there and have a lifetime experience like we did.

Good check in with all the staff being knowledgeable and kind. It's a bit on the pricier side at $40ish but I think if you're a tourist you can probably bundle it with other things to do. I spent like 2.5 hours there but you can spend 1 hour if you're crunched for time. The elevator ride is interactive for the 50 seconds it takes to go to the top. Loved the visuals and mini movies. The view at the top is incredible. Pro tip: come on a weekday an hour before sunset and watch the sun go down in Jersey and the lights come on in the city that doesn't sleep. It's completely indoors so you don't have to worry about the weather. Also, I brought binoculars so I can enjoy the tops of the building. I would recommend using a SLR with high ISO for night time photos. It was my first time viewing NYC from such a high vantage point and it was magical. Take 4/5 to fulton or R to Cortland St.

This was a great view of the skyline of NYC. If in NY I would add this to the list of places to check out as it represents an important part of our history in the U.S. There will soon be an additional tower added on the Brooklyn side in the next 10 years, so plenty of time to see it before you cant. The on staff tour guides are informative.

Dubbed the tallest building in the US due to the large spire on top of the building, One World Trade Center was built on the former site of the twin towers that collapsed during the tragic events of 9/11. Although there are several notable observatories to choose from in NYC, One World Observatory atop the One World Trade Center offers the highest vantage point in the city out of all of them. Providing a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view of New York City. There are different levels of tickets you can buy at increasing price points. Offering perks such as guided tours, audio iPads, and flexibility with arrival times. And make sure to get a good spot in the elevator next to the walls when you go up. As they are actually LED screens offering a cool, time-lapsed view of New York's transformation from the 1500's to today as the elevator ascends upwards.

I had high hopes, but it didn't exactly meet my $44 expectations. It was slightly more positive than negative. Ive always been obsessed with this building so it was amazing to go inside it. But the observatory while it had amazing views, it has one of the most cash grabby annoying experiences you can have in NYC. Pros: The views are amazing, probably the best views of NYC in my opinion, and especially so if you like lower manhattan more. The go to view for harbor views. don't listen to people who say midtown is too far away, it only looks that way in photos, its plenty close enough, so yes you'll get good ESB views and whatnot. The see forever presentation was pretty cute and the reveal at the end was pretty awesome, me and my friends enjoyed it. Cons: Security. Like its as strict as airport. You basically cant have anything slightly hard in your backpack or else they'll think your a terrorist. Nada While the elevator ride had cool visuals, it was way too fast, and ruined my ears for the whole rest of the day cuz of the pressure change. I hope my eardrums aren't damaged. You get bombarded with constant unwanted photo shoots (staff will practically beg you to take them, and yes they cost alot extra), and they literally force you into a npc dialogue trying to beg you to buy their $15 crusty ah ipad which is unnecessary as someone who knows around the city. You have to basically shoo them away, but ive seen videos where they prevent visitors from moving on ahead and force them to see a minute long presentation on these ipads. The illy cafe has normal prices, but the seating is awful. Awful as in there is no seating. I understand alot of quick bite places in NYC dont have seating , but what makes it worse is that its right next to One Dine with comfy seating probably to make you feel bad that you didn't get a reservation there.

This is one of the best views of the city. We arrived about an hour before sunset, so we were able to enjoy the cityscape both in daylight and at night. Also, remember that there's a TSA-level security check at the entrance, so add about 10-15 minutes to your entry time. My main complaint is the lack of seating areas with views. The only seating areas have views that are blocked by people standing in front of the glass screens. Otherwise, the views are incredible and among the best in NYC.

Overall, One World Observatory is clean, well run, and provides great views of New York and beyond. However, it was pretty pricey, even after the discount of the City Pass. The best part was the elevator and how it moves you so quickly while showing you what NYC was like throughout the decades. The downside I would say, was having to pay extra to rent the audio tour. Annoying.

Amazing 360 degree view of New York City. If you go after 8 pm tickets are discounted 30% and you get lovely sunset pictures.

We wanted to visit the location of the twin Towers, and see the entire city and one world observatory was the perfect stop. We saw the Memorial, which was gorgeous and had no problems going through one world observatory. We went during slow season I believe so it wasn't as crowded and we were able to spend as much time as we like through each section.

This review is specifically about the observatory experience -- not the restaurant, cafe, or building itself. The big (obvious) positive: the views are wonderful. We could see for miles and clearly make out every major landmark in the area, such as the Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge. But I don't know if I really feel like I got my money's worth considering the amount ($121.75 for two combination tickets purchased online in advance, taxes and fees included) I spent. The tickets we bought came with priority access, which, on an April weekday a bit before noon, didn't get us ahead of anyone. We found the areas we walked through past security on our way to the elevators to be quite dark at times. After a fair amount of walking, we reached the short line for the elevators and got assigned to one pretty quickly. Going up was an interesting experience as videos showing the hundreds of years of development of the area play. We got off the elevators and were put into another short line to enter a theater. After a few minutes, we went in and found there were no seats but more of a wide hallway with screens shaped like skyscrapers along one side with a metal bar in front. We were told rather forcefully to all move as close to that bar as possible despite not coming close to having enough people to fill the room. The video that then played was honestly just confusing to me; from my recollection, it was just b roll from all around the city with music playing. At the end -- spoiler alert -- the screens lift to reveal your first look at the view from 102 stories up. I'm someone who enjoys a good "moment" -- a similarly-designed moment at Kennedy Space Center for the reveal of the shuttle made me cry --but this one felt unnecessary. After this, I think we were in another short line? I've lost track, honestly. I believe this was when we had to wait for a staff member to become available for an upsell to the iPads, which our tickets included. But the devices looked a bit banged up and not super clean, so we skipped. You can start getting some views of the city wt this point, but the primary views are accessed via escalator. There was, to no surprise, another upsell that had each party pose for a photo (to be viewed and purchased) before accessing the main viewing area. So then we'd finally made it to the views, which again were great. There was a good amount of seating for our day, but I'd imagine that it's quickly taken up on busy days. On the interior side of the glass, the window panels have metal skyline silhouette cutouts at the bottom, pretty obviously to ensure no one sits down (unless they like pain), so I'd be very careful getting too close if I had little ones prone to tripping. I also wished there had been more -- or perhaps deeper -- information posted like I've encountered at other major buildings. But we didn't stay very long because from the moment we passed security, we kept running into areas where it seemed like a very strong air freshener was being pumped in. My mom, who is rarely scent sensitive, commented that she was getting a headache from it, and I had already noticed myself getting one. So after a quick Look through the gift shop to see if the two $5 vouchers that came with our tickets were worth using (they weren't; a bottled water was $8), we headed back down. So in summary, I'm pleased I went and would have perhaps stayed longer had I been able to handle it, but I don't think it would be my top choice to visit again. And I definitely wouldn't visit in busier times.

What a great attraction! We got the $45 tickets for about an hour ahead of when we were there, but one of the guides told us that we could go up then because it wasn't very busy. It costs more if you want to go without a wait. We got lucky with the timing on a Friday afternoon, but I imagine it can get very crowded. It's an amazing view and worth the price, I think. There is some food up here but we didn't try anything, and by reading some of the reviews there are other things to do up here. It's a 360 degree view of the New York area. The only thing that is tricky is where the sun is at the time you are up here. If the sun is shining on the side where you are, your pictures will suffer. When the sun faces the other side, then the fist side will great for pictures. I thought it was worth it and the 9/11 memorial and museum is directly across from the One World Trade Center.

Lots of potential but need new management. We had the fixed menu for 5 people and a 430 reservation so we could watch the sunset. This timing we would highly recommend. However the restaurant was not ready. They were still putting the lights on the tables and took forever to even get drinks to us or explain the menu. When the drinks finally came they were good. Best part of the whole meall!! We went through 3 or 4 waiters throughout our meal we are not sure why maybe because gratuity was included so they just passed us to whoever had time. They all treated us like we were a bother. The menus were gross, dirty wrinkled and covered in food the furniture was poor and service terrible. For all these negatives we were mostly happy with the food. Everything was pretty decent. Mushrooms, pastas, shrimp, cauliflower, my husband and I both had the filet medium rare and when they arrived one was perfect and one was severely undercooked. Unfortunately the deserts were lame also. A lava cake from a mold vanilla ice cream or a teeny toffe cake also from a mold we had all three since they were free and they were garbage not worth the calories. Go to the observatory! Have a drink! Do not eat here it is not worth your time.

Entry to the top is through the "Observation Deck" entrance on the north side of the building (on W 50th St). Tickets were provided by our group, apparently one per family. After it got scanned, we went up the stairs to the mezzanine level and into an enclosed area. This area had a wide screen similar in size to the Immersive Theater in the Statue of Liberty Museum. A 5-minute film was shown summarizing 30 Rock's history, glitz and glamor. It culminated with a Christmas segment accompanied by a literal shower of snowflakes on us from the ceiling. "Now that's immersive," I thought. The door at the other end opened. We continued on until we entered the Welcome Gallery. At the far end, a staff member stood before a hall of elevators that would take us to the 67th floor. To our left was a miniature model of Rockefeller Center with light show and music. We were then directed a few at a time by the staff member to a specified elevator. Inside the elevator, an audio/visual material played from the ceiling almost like a fanfare to what was coming next. At the 67th floor, a staff member directed us to head right. I took in the view of the city skyline through the windows. Taking pictures was difficult due to limited field of view behind the walls. The unobstructed balcony view would be found on the 69th and 70th floors. Wife and Son weren't comfortable with heights so they hung out in the Weather Room. I was similarly acrophobic but that didn't stop me from taking the escalator to the 69th. After I got off the escalator, I saw the Beam to my right. Situated entirely on the deck and a maximum elevation of 10 feet from the floor, it didn't look as scary as the people sitting on it made it out to be. My attention quickly turned towards the balcony. From left to right as far as the eye could see, the unobstructed view was overwhelming. Reigning in my acrophobia - which was increasing the longer I remained at the Top - took effort. I proceeded to take pictures of the skyline. The 70th floor above me was accessible by stairs. The view was better. The Beam looked a lot less scary from the 70th floor. As I approached the windows, my breaths got slower and heavier. Taking each picture was laborious because the sunlight made it difficult to see my phone while managing the acrophobia at the same time. Yet I got through it and promptly went down. The experience at the Top of the Rock was much more enjoyable than that at the Empire State Building (ESB) back in Sep 2008. The wait line was much shorter (45 minutes alone just waiting for the elevator to get on top of the ESB). Top of the Rock didn't feel rushed. It offers a lot more space and more time to take it all in. I definitely recommend this place. If I ever return to New York City, I would like to try a different skyscraper (definitely not the ESB) for the next view from the top.

While there is an option to purchase tickets with NYC discount online - ( you put your zipcode in)- this somehow isn't possible at the ticket kiosks on-site as well as at their "welcome desk". Seems ridiculous in this day and age, honestly. I happened to be there in person but with a phone on very low charge ( it died as I was talking with staff person). I was directed to the welcome desk to speak with a manager to see about purchasing my tickets, however soon discovered it wasn't possible because of the way their system is set up. Tourist priority, I guess. However I then asked about charging my phone ( there was a wall outlet less than 20 feet away ), so that I could just complete the purchase online, as they seem to be encouraging NYC residents to do. This manager said it wasn't possible and that she was following policy- which I get- however in this instance, I wasn't just a random person walking up to charge my phone and walk away. This was literally so I could go on their website to purchase a ticket. She basically turned away a customer ( or would be customer at this point ) because she couldn't discern that even policy withstanding this was an earnest customer ask that would have resulted in their favor regarding not only a ticket for that day but any future tickets where I'd bring family, friends to in the coming summer months. When she mentioned using outlets in Grand Central Station to charge my phone and come back- I told her she was misinformed as there are no public outlets as GC Terminal. Anyway, I'm sure the observatory is nice, but this level of customer service left me feeling like it might not be be worth the trouble as a NYer and leave it to the tourists to enjoy. Why not make it possible to put in your zipcode at the kiosk when purchasing tickets? Really.‍

Anyway, It better be ok, I went to stop, and YOU waived me through. Overall, of the observation decks I've done, Edge has been the worst. 1. Top of the Rock 2. Summit 1 3. One Times Square 4. I went up recently, and let me tell you, it's no One World Trade Center. One World? Smooth, modern, straight to the top no nonsense. Empire State? Lines, more lines, security gauntlet, then they dump you halfway into a gift shop full of overpriced junk. Total tourist trap gimmick! They're making a fortune, but come on let me see the view already! But then you hit the 86th floor deck, wind smacks you in the face, city noise roars up from a thousand feet below horns, life, energy. Tremendous! 360-degree views that make you feel like King Kong himself. Nostalgic as hell Art Deco soul, real history you can touch. Not some sterile glass tower; this is old-school New York grit. Sure, if you want quick and slick, skip to One World. But the Empire State? Pure character. Worth every hassle. Go early, grab the express pass if you're smart, soak it in. It's legendary, folks. Huge! Make New York great again one windy deck at a time.

I hadn't visited the Empire State Building in probably 20 years, but I decided to visit with my…read morehusband last weekend. It's such a different experience now. 20 years ago, I remember just walking into the lobby, buying a ticket, and heading up to the observation deck. But today? You enter in a different spot, and it's a whole experience. There's a "museum" now and you can spend more time here than just taking in the views from the 86th floor. So why go? It was the world's tallest building when it was completed in 1931 and until the North Tower of the World Trade Center was completed in 1970. (Sad aside: It became NYC's tallest building again after 9/11 until was surpassed by One World Trade Center in 2012.) It features gorgeous art deco architecture and design. It's a cultural icon (one of my favorite parts of the museum experience was a room where you can see dozens of film clips which feature the Empire State Building). The new experience includes exhibits that explain the history, design, and construction of the building. What I learned about its construction was particularly interesting! The construction of the building involved more than 3,500 workers, many of who were Irish and Italian immigrants, and led to an unknown number of deaths of workers (official reports say 5, newspapers at the time reported higher numbers). While I felt this museum addition really added to the experience of visiting the Empire State Building, it has also certainly made visiting the building more expensive. So let's get down to the brass tacks. The base ticket (which gets you entry into everything up to the 86th floor) is $44 for adults, $42 for seniors, and $38 for children (plus a $5 booking charge for each transaction). If you want to visit the 102nd floor for that additional observation deck, it's $79 for adults, $77 for seniors, and $73 for children (plus the booking charge). Then there are ways to spend even more money: a Starbucks Reserve Sunrise ticket ($135 per person); an Express Pass (starting at $85/120 per person); a Premium Experience ($175 per person); and All-Access Tour ($500 per person)... I'm generally not into these expensive view experiences that have popped up all over NYC. But the Empire State Building is special. It's an icon and a view. But I still wasn't willing to pay $80 to visit, so we stuck with the base ticket that gets you access only to the 86th floor observatory. The 86th Floor Observatory contains an enclosed viewing gallery and open-air outdoor viewing area. It's the classic observatory you've seen in movies. And it was certainly enough for me - the museum and the 86th floor observatory! Don't miss/rush through the original main lobby as you leave the experience. Or - if you're not willing to pay for the experience to see the view - stop in at the lobby on its own - it's open to the public (follow the signs for the Starbucks Reserve which is entered through this lobby). The lobby is gorgeous - marble, terrazzo, a scale model of the building... But the highlight is that aluminum relief of the skyscraper as it was originally built (without the antenna). It's incredible. It's an icon for a reason, and it was fun to visit and to see it again after so many years. They've certainly made it more of an experience than it used to be (although now, you can't just pop by for the view on a pretty day, since it's prohibitively expensive for a quick visit), but I had a really good time.

The band had embarked on their North American tour from their native South Korea. Since I had never seen the band before as well, the adventure to a new space for me made the whole thing more interesting to me. Now I travel via the MTA, and from Bay Ridge this event space is a bit of a hike. It's the R train to the N to the 7 to a fairly decent walk. Those who are driving or taking an Uber might have a little better trek experience than I did but that being said once I made it past the famed Unisphere and over to New York State Pavilion, it was time to go into the Queens Theatre. When I arrived there were already about 100 attendees lined up because the band was doing all sorts of VIP things with them. A cool part of the agenda for sure. Inside the theatre is a spacious lobby area with seating all around near the windows. There are concessions there but I only saw drinks being sold when I looked. There was a small merchandise table for the band set up and I imagine that when other shows happen here this will be their space as well. Right off the bat I connected to a complimentary WiFi signal which was good but seemed to go on and off during the course of the performance. Once I was in the actual performance space I was quite impressed. The stage is sizable which was great because this was a five member band with a full backline and the seats were oh so comfortable. Yes this was a Rock Show and people would likely be standing throughout the performance but when it was time to sit you could do so in comfort. I positioned myself in the eighth or so row on the aisle since I needed to shoot photographs and I was happy to report that there were no bad sightlines in the theater. The sound was also clear and impressive which was partially a testimony to the bands team on the tour. While I didn't get to explore the venue all that much outside of the show, I did see one of the spacious side rooms which I guess they do talks in or smaller events. The band has set up their meet and greets there so it was in and out in terms of time to examine. There was a complimentary WiFi that I did find to be spotty at times but I feel this was based on the amount of people choosing to live stream the show. There were obviously restrooms and while I can only speak for the men's facility it was quite clean which is always a pleasant find. Overall this was a great experience for me but I cannot fathom when and if I might make a return based on the logistics and scarcity of what most interests me happening here. I will be keeping tabs on their calendar for good measure just in case and maybe some other localized Hard Rock bands can look into it or even local promoters who wish to do something that is no too crazy.

We had a hard time finding parking as the show was about to start and the park is always busy. There were two small lots nearby that were full. Upon entering check in was easy. They had a small concession stand. The seating was great with no obstructed views. The play itself was kid friendly and told the meaning and traditions of the special day. It was very informative and entertaining. I enjoyed the different styles of dances performed, the colorful outfits, the creative scenery (which was simple but effective). I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and look forward to visiting again.
