Lots of photo ops here from different angles and in the outdoor section, there's some balcony seating. There's a glass floor window to the bottom, nerve wracking if you have a fear of heights. On a windy day, terrifying! I couldn't even sit on it. Overall, a great experience. There seem to be a few more of these high view point experiences besides the Empire State Building popping up in NYC. Definitely check it out while you are visiting. read more

I was very disappointed with Edge. Originally, I had wanted to do the City Climb experience, but they were doing renovations to it, and it wasn't available. In hindsight, it was for the best. As it was, I paid extra for priority access, which allows you to skip the lines. But there was no line to get in, and no line for the elevator up. There was a line for the elevator down that I got to skip, but it was only about 10 people, so I basically saved 5 minutes. The whole experience took me about 15-20 minutes. With Top of Rock, you've got the beam, the lift, and the short fun little movie at the beginning, with Empire, you have the historical aspect of it, and with Summit 1, you have the ballroom. There's nothing special or drawing to Edge. The views are ok, but the deck is on the smaller side of the ones I've been to. Security was a little rude and off-putting. The first security guard said I set the alarm off and sends me over to the side. That guy waves me through, then the original guy starts freaking out for me to stop. I go back to the 2nd, and I'm like you waived me through, and he just keeps saying it's ok. And pawing at my stuff, mind I had a clear bag so you see everything in case I set an alarm off. We paid extra for sunset hour, and was it worth it? Debatable. Cloudy weather has been the villain of this entire trip, so sunsets felt like a gamble. We lucked out and still caught a decent one. Small victory! One of the highlights was the see-through glass floor. Absolute chaos in the best way. The height-averse members of our group bravely stepped onto it, screamed a little, laughed a lot, and walked away with the cutest, silliest photos. 100% core memory material. It has been over 10 years since I have done an observation deck in NYC. On our recent trip I wanted to visit one we haven't been to before so I picked the Edge. I ordered the tickets that came with a glass of champagne to surprise my wife. The weather was beautiful on the day we visited. Visited the Edge this morning. It was very easy to locate in Hudson Yards with signs. Pre-ordered tickets online so there wasn't a line or a wait. There are some photos ops on the elevator up. The elevator takes you 100 flights up. The Museum of Ice Cream is having a pinkmas event there. Definitely adds pops of colors to the environment. Any food or ice cream is an additional charge. Many opportunities and areas to take photos of the city and beyond. It wasn't overly crowded. There was lots of space to walk and take pictures without people in your background. It does get chilly and windy so best to take a jacket dependent on the season. Must do once or on a special occasion. Tickets can be pricey, so try to look for deals. read more

I was on the fence about checking out the Edge, being that we had already done something similar with the View from the Shard in Central London, not long before that. But we needed something to kill the time that was close enough to the hotel we were staying at without needing to use the train, before we set off for the Oasis show. Fortunately, my wife was on board with checking out the Edge on the 100th floor of Hudson Yards, as the view is quite spectacular. It is a little pricey to go check out. For two people, the cost is approximately $110 after tax, etc. If you want photos that show you in front of different backdrops, they usually cost $45, but drop to $40 if you are indecisive and back out. The staff we spoke to weren't clear on whether the magnet we wanted to have our picture placed on would be included or not. The person we talked to on the top floor said it was included in the purchase. The ones on the 4th floor, when we returned, said it wasn't and mentioned it would be a line item on the receipt. They also weren't the easiest to communicate with, so that was irritating. Outside of that, the views were amazing. The glass that surrounds the outdoor observation deck is at least four thick panes that seem very durable. There is also a glass floor that allows you to look directly down 100 floors to the bottom, where you can see 10th Avenue. You have uninhibited views of the Hudson where you can see the Financial District with the World Trade Tower and the Statue of Liberty in the further distance, as well as Brooklyn with the Brooklyn Bridge, the Empire State Building, Central Park, and up the river seeing the rest of Manhattan into the start of what is the Hudson Valley. They also offer cocktails on the outdoor observation deck, which was nice to enjoy palomas while we enjoyed the view. They also have a restaurant on the next floor up if you are so inclined. read more

Pretty cool views of the city. I've been to almost all of the observation decks in Manhattan and this one is like the others. Nothing super special, but it's a good view. I'm deathly afraid of heights, but my husband hadn't been to Manhattan before, so seeing the city from this high up is a necessity I feel like. You wouldn't catch me standing on the glass on the floor that you can look straight down on the city or standing on the Edge glass panels, but it's still cool. Uhhh, it's a great view. That's probably about it. You can access via elevator on the 4th or 5th floor of the Shops; from there, you'll walk along a few ornate shops until you reach staff who will check your ticket, then take another elevator to the 110th floor to the top (the elevator ride is the best part of the experience). The view is spectacular, but personally, I think the novelty dies out quickly. Probably best not to waste money on a ticket and instead get invited here for free for a work or celebratory event, where you can enjoy the view along with a drink from their rooftop bar. We did the Skytop Yoga experience, so we at least got to enjoy yoga while the sun rose, and I'd recommend that as long as you're willing to wake up early. read more

This was our last experience in the city. 100 floors high and the elevator gets up there in 52 seconds! It goes so fast it feels like you're flying. Edge is located on the 4th floor of Hudson Yards. It's a great experience and so worth it. They even have a glass floor area that you can stand on for a photo op. I think this was an amazing experience. I had this place as our first "tourist" destination on the itinerary. The views up top were incredible. So I purchased my tickets weeks in advance, planning every stop accordingly so we don't run circles around the big apple. I'm one of those guys. Planning a perfect day weeks in advance. That's me. Anyways! Located at 30 Hudson Yards in the big apple is the highest observation deck in the WESTERN HEMISPHERE! A breath taking experience. Amazing views of New York. Just a pro tip. Go early in the AM. It gets hot up there. You're over 100 stories closer to the sun, you can really feel it up there. Just be ready to put out a sweat not only from the heat but also the knee buckling glass floor. Man was that scary! You get 360 degree views and photo ops to share a lifetime with your family. My fearless 1.5 year old daughter was not impressed with the glass floor she was pulling me closer so we could take a photo. Overall an amazing experience. Yes we purchased photos. How often do you get to do that? Also just a heads up don't expect all the people who work for this place to be all smiles or happy to be there. We did experience some employees on the unprofessional side. Some really needed to be trained or retrained the steps on providing customer service. In guessing that New York water had something to do with it. I'm not sure but just beware not everyone is going to provide top tier service. But! Some were outstanding so always be polite and courteous so you can at the least be treated with respect. And after you're done with the edge go shopping downstairs! Lots of stores to explore! We decided to take a trip to Edge after 4 years, this time with couple of new family members who had not seen it before. Bought the tickets online to ensure we had a timeslot available on the day. The ticket prices vary depending on the day and time. Upon arriving at Hudson Yards, we followed the foot traffic to navigate ourselves to the elevator that takes everyone to Edge's entrance on 4th floor. I'd preferred to see some signs outside to make it easier for tourists to know exactly where they need to go. At the entrance there was no wait time. We scanned our tickets and walked all the way to the main elevator. I loved the futuristic visualizations of the walkway, that included some of the modern architecture and technology used in building Hudson Yards. The elevator took us to the 100th floor that has the indoor and outdoor observation decks. The outdoor one was very crowded. The view of the city all around was fantastic. I tell everyone that Edge has better view than most other observatories. Because of its location, midtown, downtown, East River, Queen's, Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty, Jersey City/North NJ, all are visible from here. I liked some of the improvements they did inside as well. The gift shop had better quality products. They added indoor games for visitors that are available for reservation and open play. We spent about an hour here. The outdoor deck was windy but it was clear skies, so we got some beautiful view of the city. I bought some magnets. Very high prices, $14 each. Once we were done, going back down was pretty quick process. There we retrieved our green screen group pictures. I was surprised to see they had an all digital download option only for $30. The package included some occasional backgrounds like Easter and Birthday. To sum it up, it's always a great experience to visit Edge, one of the best tourist sites of NYC in my opinion. I would like to see them integrate some occasional/seasonal decorations as well so that it appears little unique to local visitors like us. read more

Out of all the places that we went to view the skyline of NY, this place probably had the best overall experience. It seems like everything was organized and really well run. We got there at around 1900 for their sunset package and it was gorgeous! I really like that once you are up on the deck, you aren't really "timed," and having to leave. There are some good spots to take photos inside and outside. They also have a cool little spot where you can walk on glass and see completely below you - didn't do it because I was scared of heights but the people in my party did. There is a lot of spots as well that you can just sit and hang around and watch the sunset! 10/10 recommend if you are looking for great photo ops and views! read more

The Edge was a transformative experience. There is nothing like taking an elevator up to one of the highest observation decks, walking out, and overlooking the city. This was not on my bucket list of things to do, but I'm so glad that I did. This attraction is for thrill seekers and risk-takers for sure. Also, for those who just want to do something out of the norm. Once up there, it's like a party in the sky. There was singing, dancing and some drinks being served, which temporarily made you forget how high up you were. Standing over the glass floor was quite scary but after seeing people lying down and taking pictures, it was hard not to join in on the fun. The 360 view is incredible, and it's great for capturing pictures and making memories with family & friends. One thing I would suggest is purchasing your ticket through Groupon, as they often have discounts. My family and I had a wonderful time! The Edge is an observation deck about 100 floors up in Hudson Yards. I visited this past weekend, when I was in the City for a few days. You take escalators or the elevator up to the 4th floor of the Hudson Yards Mall. Then you walk through an area that explains the history, architecture, and design of Hudson Yards. I really appreciated this walk to the elevator. I learned that Hudson Yards is the first LEED Gold Neighborhood Development to be built in the City, that the development of the neighborhood created 6 acres of new public space, that it compacts its trash underground under the buildings, that it collects 10 million gallons of rainwater each year (which is used to water plants and trees), etc. All of this environmental design was a surprise to me - a good one! But I was, like everyone else, there for the elevator ride and the viewing platforms. So after learning about all this good that Hudson Yards is doing, I took the 52-second elevator ride up to the 101st floor (even that was cool - an animated video plays on the walls of the elevator). Then I arrived on the 101st floor, where you can take in the views from indoors (where there's also a small cafe and bar) or wander outside to the viewing platform. The views are pretty incredible. And the angled glass walls make you feel like nothing is separating you from those views. It's not inexpensive, and it's touristy. But it was also really cool to do once, just to see the city from this height and angle! Overall, a pretty cool experience to do on a trip to New York - I liked it as a break from my weekend of art art theater art art theater art art! read more

Edge is an observatory in NYC that has huge outdoor space with glasses around. It also has an area you can see through to the streets (very scary for me). We purchased tickets online with designated arrival time. We arrived half hour early, they still let us in. You can purchase at the counter too. Check in process is very smooth. Security line is smooth. Then you will go through brief history and engineering information along the hall. And the end it's the high speed elevator to go up. The day we went, one corner of outside platform was blocked off. Could be it was too windy. Other than that I enjoyed NYC view. Very spacious. Lots places to walk around. Stairs of seats to relax if you want to hang out a little longer. Coffee shop and souvenir shop are always a big hit. Overall great experience in the Edge. We purchase our tickets at the booth outside the Edge entrance. There was no line when we arrived, so we were escorted to the elevator and up in no time. There's a bar adjacent to the Edge entrance called Peak. Reservations are required. You can make a reservation on the 5th floor or online through their website. The Edge is a 100-story-high observation deck with a partial (small) glass floor, bar & 360-degree views of NYC. You can find other activities on their official website. Of course, it's extra for that. The glass floors were a popular attraction. It's a small area, so don't expect the entire floor to be glass. I'll make to short and edgy. THE CUTTING EDGE This observation deck, which is open air (yes, exposed to the elements), is located at Hudson Yards. Tickets can be purchased online, OR on site; follow the signs as you enter the building. I opted to buy the tickets online. I paid around $107.00 for two tickets, taxes and fees included. EDGE OF TOMORROW Guests are able to chose a entry time when purchasing tickets. If buying tickets on site, there are multiple kiosks for guest use. THE EDGE OF GLORY The views are incredible!! Thankfully, the weather was cooperative as it was raining the day before our visit, and the weather forecast was for rain the following day. There is a glass floor that one can see all the way to ground level. Don't look down if you're afraid of heights. If one wants to take a picture at "the point" of the observation deck, please wait patiently in line. There's also stadium stole seating/steps where one can relax and appreciate the views. I truly love this observation deck. It's located in Hudson yards and I've been twice, once on a Saturday early afternoon/evening and once during the day. I will say it def gets windy up there so ladies keep that in mind when trying to go with your hair down. Also, not the best idea to go in heels like i did the first time i went. You walk a lot and like i said it does get windy. However, i did get tickets for 3pm and stood until sunset and it was beautiful! Got great shots. They are great at keeping the crowds to a minimum and the staff here is nice. I did notice the difference from coming on a Saturday at 3pm vs a Wednesday at 11am. We got tickets about a week in advance, using Wells Fargo affiliation (it gives you $10 off the standard ticket price). We arrived about 15 minutes before our designated time, and there was no problems to get in earlier. Quick ride on a very fast elevator for about 100 floors and you walk out into a huge space with floor to ceiling glass windows. If you want to stay inside and walk around admiring views you can, but you can also go outside onto the glass protected platform and admire the beautiful city views from the 104 floor. It is really fun to walk around, look at all the tiny objects on the ground, and take countless number of the photographs. We didn't visit cafe or a store so I can't speak to those, but the opportunity to enjoy birds view of the city and its surroundings was well worth it. Definitely recommended. read more

After checking in you're brought up the elevator which shows the architectural changes over the year in New York City. Once let out you can either walk directly to the observatory deck or walk around the lobby where they have small shops and a bar. We opted to check out the observatory before having a drink. The views of the city are absolutely breathtaking, they have an amazing views of the City and Hudson River. The observatory deck is 2 floors. You can walk up the stairs to the second smaller deck. As a NYC resident, I've visited most of the city's major observation decks, so when a friend came into town for the weekend, we decided to finally try The Edge. Unfortunately, it ended up being my least favorite experience of them all. We booked our tickets in advance, but when the day arrived, the weather was rainy and extremely gloomy. Upon arrival, we were informed that the glass triangle floor section would be closed due to the rain. This was especially disappointing because the glass floor is one of the main features that makes The Edge stand out and was a major reason we chose to visit. We were offered the option to rebook for another date and time, but only if we paid an additional $38 per ticket. Considering we had already paid full price, the extra charge felt excessive. We decided to keep our original reservation, but the experience continued to disappoint. Right before stepping outside onto the observation deck, we were told that umbrellas could not be opened outdoors. So we ended up standing in the rain, completely soaked, while also being unable to access the glass floor attraction we originally came for. To make matters worse, the observation deck itself is not even a full 360-degree view, which made the overall experience feel even less worthwhile. Overall, we left very disappointed. There are far better observation deck experiences in NYC. I would personally recommend Top of the Rock or the Empire State Building instead. read more

I visited the Edge in July 2025. It was such a cool experience. My aunt had timed it so we got there right as the sun was setting. The price was definitely worth the views. I was surprised how many people were there. It was like hoards of people in the best picture spots so that was kind of a bummer. I dont know how they could time/limit how many people are there at a time. Some people looked like they had been there for hours. I was so happy with the views and the experience overall. The Edge was the only observation deck/tower I got to visit while I was in New York so without any of the other 4 towers to compare it too I still enjoyed the overall experience. Inside the building once you get to the entry level they have kiosk outside where you can purchase your tickets and select the time you want to go up. They also have a website where you can purchase tickets on your phone and save money if there happens to be a special with promo codes. The line to get in is cool with lots of facts and visuals about the early days of New York City, the elevator ride up is pretty good as all 3 walls of the elevator display the formation of the city over the years. The outside deck is pretty cool with the Edge facing all of New York City, there's also a glass floor that you can stand on and an area with stadium still raised up seats so you can get a little higher view of the city. The funniest part of the tower is when you go back inside and you see the view of dirt hole New Jersey on the other side. It totally makes sense why the Edge only faces one way instead of being a 360° outside deck. The location of the Edge being in Hudson Yard worked out for visiting other site seeing spots since the Vessel is right across the street. If you get out here earlier enough you can check out both without waiting in any real long lines. read more
