Helped daughter get better interest rate on her 2017 car, so we added my name. Told BofA I could show deposits from daughter for payments of car. No, they want me to pay off car and have a larger interest rate then we have now. They don't want to loan money. Actions speak better than words.

Rather than have the customer rewrite the check I walked into this branch were I received a delightful greeting from behind very thick glass. I was asked if I was a customer and I said no - that I banked at a small community bank. I was promptly given a polite sales pitch on the benefits of switching to Bank of America. I politely declined. I was thereafter advised that not only would I have to provide a thumbprint to cash the check, but that a $6.00 fee would be charged since I was a non-customer. When I objected to this, I was advised that this was bank policy and that the fee could not be waived. Although objecting I cashed the check and accepted the fee as this was the lesser of two evils. Had I left, I would have had to wait two weeks for a replacement check from my client. What a scam. Try to get you to switch banks and when you say no, they charge you $6.00 to cash a check. I would have been charged less at a check cashing store. Had I thought of becoming a customer, this experience would have been a deal breaker. /s/ William E. Lewis Jr, Fort Lauderdale, Florida
