I proceeded to find a picture online to show her. Before I could even show her a picture, she said she had determined what the shape was and proceeded to start cutting the nails into shape. She didn't even wait to see if that's what I wanted. Her work was sloppy with no attention to detail. She did nothing to my nails or cuticles except buff them before applying the gel. She rushed through the application though there was no one waiting. I left there with a feeling that they didn't care about having my business. I will not go there again. Disappointed.

I went in for a refill (they tidy up your nails with powder (I call it nail cocaine) and a new polish colour) and it cost me 40$ with tax and tip. Not cheap and I'm not sure they did a much better job than the last place I went to. The place is hard to find unless you know your way around the Montreal downtown underground. It's in the tunnel that connects PVM and Centre Eaton. They close at 7pm on Mondays and I finish work at 6pm. When I got there there were already 3 people finishing up so I really thought they weren't going to have time to fit me in but it wasn't a problem. The removal of my old polish was really fast. The man had all sorts of gadgets and tools. Then he cut my fake nail tips, applied the nail powder (cocaine), and finished up with nail filling (I originally thought you file the nail and then apply the powder). The guy who shaped my nails was a pro! He was filling it every direction making sure every inch of my nails were cut evenly and smoothly. It was great! The part that turned it into just an ok visit was the application of the colour which was done by a lady. The colour I wanted was mislabeled and so they didn't have it in stock anymore. I had to choose another colour on the spot so I'm not completely in love with it. And also, the lady who painted my nails painted one of them crooked. You can't see it when my fingers are together but you can totally tell once the finger is alone. For 40$, I don't think that should happen. Maybe my nail is misshapen but shouldn't they fix that then? Instead of using gel polish that is just polish, she used the kind you put in the little cooker thingy. I don't think I like that method because, even though it's faster, I don't think it feels or looks as good. In the grand scheme of things, it's small. They still did an ok job and it is a very convenient location. They were also very friendly. Verdict is still out on wether I'll return.

I decided to try to nail salon as it's very close to my apartment and not very busy during the…read moreweek. I got a shellac manicure and the manicurist clipped off all my cuticles to the point where it was slightly painful. I was satisfied with the colour and style of my nails and left satisfied. However, only two days later, my manicure began to chip (shellac manicures usually remain fully intact for at least a week). Disappointed, I returned and asked the salon to fix the manicure. They then proceeded to paint two of the chipped nails the wrong colour by accident, despite the fact that I told them the colour I had gotten done only two days before. Thankfully, they didn't charge me for the service, As of today, less than a week after the initial manicure, all of my nails are chipped and look worse than before I got them re-done. Despite the staff being very friendly, I won't be returning due to the poor quality of the manicure.

They are busy so an appointment is recommended. Upon entering, you're greeted by two huge fish tanks full of rufa fish. By dipping your feet into one of these tanks for 15 minutes before your pedicure, you essentially lose a good deal of dead skin. That's right, they eat it right off of you. I didn't try it this time but I'm curious and saw one brave soul squirm for the first 5 minutes of the procedure then she settled in with a magazine. My pedicure ($35) included a workout for my feet. Be prepared for a tough (lots of punching and slapping) foot and lower leg massage and a massaging chair. In and out in a half hour, it was worth the price and I'd go back.

Found this place one bus from home and right next to school. The tech was busy so I set to come back the next day at 11. I showed up at 10 and they accommodated me early by having the tech assistant shape my nails since he knew how, and then Anna took over. It's been two weeks now, and while most shellacs I get look slightly rushed and chip within a week, this time they looked impeccable and have barely even chipped at the tips, nothing anyone but me would even notice. Quick, friendly, inexpensive ($25 cash, no tax for students), huge choice of colors, and impeccable work. Super happy and will definitely be getting all my manicures here from now on.

I visited here recently and received a decent pedicure. Here's the low-down:…read more-the place is small but clean and the tools are all sanitized and individually sealed for one-time use before being sterilized again. The pedi tubs have plastic tub sealers, too. Very hygienic and clean. -there are tons of different polishes to choose from; however, they are all scattered about the salon and not all kept together. Polish displays are on different walls and tons of individual bottles were placed on every counter surface throughout the place. -the pedi chair was great, with its massage features. (I love that!). -my pedi tech was quiet and didn't speak at all. -the pedi itself was fine if but perfunctory. Minimal leg massage with a warming cream. Zero leg massage with an exfoliating lotion (perhaps they don't do that here in Montreal. I'm used to a citrus exfoliating massage in Vancouver and Seattle salons). The tech used a pumice on my heels and the balls of my feet. Usually I'm ticklish and squeamish during this process but this part of the pedi lasted just a few minutes - so fast! - so it didn't bother me at all. Meanwhile, that night when I checked my feet, my heels were still calloused with rough skin, so the tech didn't really do a thorough job at all in this area. (The entire pedi was over really fast). -good job doing my cuticles and nails, and nice polish job, too (but they didn't put on a top coat). -one thing I disliked: when drying my toe polish, they sat me by the front door, with my toes in a portable machine to dry them. It was freezing cold out, a wintery and stormy day, and every time the front door was open (which was frequently, as people came and went), a huge draft came in, right on me. I was freezing. (There was nowhere else for me to go, as I waited for my toes to dry). Not the best set-up. All in all, if one wants a basic and quick pedi, this is a fine salon to go to. If you want some pampering, I might go elsewhere.
