However, only two days later, my manicure began to chip (shellac manicures usually remain fully intact for at least a week). Disappointed, I returned and asked the salon to fix the manicure. They then proceeded to paint two of the chipped nails the wrong colour by accident, despite the fact that I told them the colour I had gotten done only two days before. Thankfully, they didn't charge me for the service, As of today, less than a week after the initial manicure, all of my nails are chipped and look worse than before I got them re-done. Despite the staff being very friendly, I won't be returning due to the poor quality of the manicure.

They are busy so an appointment is recommended. Upon entering, you're greeted by two huge fish tanks full of rufa fish. By dipping your feet into one of these tanks for 15 minutes before your pedicure, you essentially lose a good deal of dead skin. That's right, they eat it right off of you. I didn't try it this time but I'm curious and saw one brave soul squirm for the first 5 minutes of the procedure then she settled in with a magazine. My pedicure ($35) included a workout for my feet. Be prepared for a tough (lots of punching and slapping) foot and lower leg massage and a massaging chair. In and out in a half hour, it was worth the price and I'd go back.

I called to inquire about color changing nail polish and was told that they did have it available. I asked the price of the refill and if the color changing nail polish was included and was told it was. When I looked at the colors - I asked once again - if it was included - and was told again that it was. When I finally decided on a color - I asked if it was included with the refill and was told it was ! Once it was time to apply the polish - I asked to pay (as I always do at other salons) and was told not until it was finished (which seemed odd) Now I know why !! I was shocked when my bill was a whopping $30 (instead of $20) - I asked why and was told because the polish is extra !! I explained that I had asked at least 3 times and was told it was included. I could not understand why - NOT once did they say that there was an extra charge !! They did not care - they wanted $30 and did not care at all about customer satisfaction ! No wonder they did not want me to pay before the polish was applied - I would NOT have used this polish if I knew they were going to charge $10 for it !! Now I realize that this was a scam from the start !! I am sure it will not be too long before I pass this store and see the brown papers on the windows - and with the way they acted today - they deserve it !! I went in for a refill (they tidy up your nails with powder (I call it nail cocaine) and a new polish colour) and it cost me 40$ with tax and tip. Not cheap and I'm not sure they did a much better job than the last place I went to. The place is hard to find unless you know your way around the Montreal downtown underground. It's in the tunnel that connects PVM and Centre Eaton. They close at 7pm on Mondays and I finish work at 6pm. When I got there there were already 3 people finishing up so I really thought they weren't going to have time to fit me in but it wasn't a problem. The removal of my old polish was really fast. The man had all sorts of gadgets and tools. Then he cut my fake nail tips, applied the nail powder (cocaine), and finished up with nail filling (I originally thought you file the nail and then apply the powder). The guy who shaped my nails was a pro! He was filling it every direction making sure every inch of my nails were cut evenly and smoothly. It was great! The part that turned it into just an ok visit was the application of the colour which was done by a lady. The colour I wanted was mislabeled and so they didn't have it in stock anymore. I had to choose another colour on the spot so I'm not completely in love with it. And also, the lady who painted my nails painted one of them crooked. You can't see it when my fingers are together but you can totally tell once the finger is alone. For 40$, I don't think that should happen. Maybe my nail is misshapen but shouldn't they fix that then? Instead of using gel polish that is just polish, she used the kind you put in the little cooker thingy. I don't think I like that method because, even though it's faster, I don't think it feels or looks as good. In the grand scheme of things, it's small. They still did an ok job and it is a very convenient location. They were also very friendly. Verdict is still out on wether I'll return.

My appointment was at 10 am on a Saturday, although when I arrived it was still closed. I went to Pharmaprix to wait since it was -30 that day. When I returned, they were open at about 10:15 am. The woman who did my shellac change polish was efficient and didn't speak much. As she was removing my current shellac, she told me to choose a color. She used the electric nail file before putting the cotton with acetone and foil. It took about 5 minutes for the nails to soak. She removed the shellac polish in a few minutes and applied my new color. The total time was quick about 45 minutes. My second attempt to return to this salon was not successful. I made an appointment one week prior for Saturday afternoon. I called the day before the appointment to confirm, and the same day during the morning. Each time a woman answered, they did not appear to see my appointment but told me to come. Upon my arrival, there were two clients waiting. No one told me how long it would be until I would be next. The two clients before had been waiting a while, seeing how they would be first is not impressive. I waited several minutes and decided to leave due to lack of communication by anyone working. Make sure to make an appointment and expect to wait if there are clients ahead.
