Fresh ingredients and colourful presentation. Portion sizes are a good size, I ordered the large portion and found myself full from eating half of it, next time I will go with the regular size. I was looking for healthy options and something quick and filling, this was the perfect place. You have an option to choose your base, white rice, brown rice or mixed greens. You order at the counter, and there is a few seats if you feel inclined to eat there. Inside the store feels bright and has a beach like feeling upon entering. I would come back to try other items.

When searching this place up on Google, I noticed they had an option to order via Ritual with no difference in pricing so I opted to do so as I felt it was easier to build my own bowl being able to have all the options laid out in front of me with all the prices listed. I ended up getting a snack size BYOB and the Big Island, which only comes in their regular size. It took about 15 mins between me placing my order and it being ready for pick up. Upon entering, your first impression is that the shop is quite small. The place looked relatively clean at a glance. My encounter was short but the service was good. My takeout was packaged well and so, travelled well with everything staying intact and still looking beautiful in presentation. Freshness and flavor were both there, which is probably the most important thing when it comes to poke. Overall, most of their packaging was sustainable. With paper-made bowls and bags, while the lid is clear plastic and they use plastic forks (but you can also opt for wooden chopsticks!)

Mediocre at best... Tried ONO because it's steps away from my house and thought I'd give it a fair chance. It's a small place with 4 bar seats. I had low expectations and it met me there. It didn't taste like anything, it was really bland and boring. Sorry to say, but I won't be returning. There are definitely other options in and around Markham with better quality and portions. Go if you're in a pinch and you're steps away from this place. It's expensive for what you get, but they have daily specials. Someone else's review of this place is exactly how my experience was, I don't want to repeat and/or drag the business.

New Year (re)solutions on healthy eats! Making my healthy choices Ono Poké Bar, a Hawaiian Asian-inspired poke bowl restaurant that takes pride in using quality ingredients and flavourful sauces! Ono Poké Bar just SOFT OPENED its Markham store on Chinese New Year 2022 ^^ It is located in the same plaza as Gal Sushi. They took over where Pokewave used to be. There is one table inside if you wish to dine-in, please be sure to show your vaccination! I would highly recommend Kabayaki Unagi Bowl ($16.99) and the Taro chips ($3.50, thick cut). Both are so flavourful, and I'd love to order them again! If you want something lighter, the Classic Salmon is also a great choice! You can also DIY your own poké bowl too!

I got the classic salmon & spicy mango bowl. If you're looking to a healthy alternative to poke bowls, this place is for you. Everything taste very fresh & clean plus all their sauces are homemade. I also got the thick cut taro chips which for some reason was too sweet so unfortunately not my favorite kind of taro chips. The ladies there are really nice & helpful. Even though it is takeout, the service was impeccable!

Awesome poke spot. Lots of fresh ingredients. Great make your own bowl options. It's a really small spot I think it has seating for 3 along the window but seems like a take out spot. Service was fast. Thoroughly enjoyed. The daily specials are worth it.

Finally tried ONO Poke Bar after passing by it several times while grabbing bubble tea in the area. They have a number of signature poke bowls, including some which come in snack sized portions. One has the option of building one's own poke bowl. The staffer serving us was friendly. They also offer a loyalty stamp card which is not something you see at other poke places. Hubby and I personally enjoyed the ONO Torched Paradise bowl. It came with torched tuna and torched salmon, furikake, taro chips, avocado, seaweed salad, crabmeat salad, pickled ginger, mango, tamago, green onions and terivaki mayonnaise. One can choose a base of white rice, brown rice, greens, or a mix of two of these. We got half brown rice and half greens. We found the ingredients to be fresh, and there was plenty of protein in the bowl. We liked that the torched fish is something we haven't encountered at other poke establishments that we've been to. At $19.99 for a large poke bowl, it does seem a tad steep in price. I appreciated that they offer 15% discount to frontline healthcare workers with proof of ID. Not sure why they have so many 1 star reviews but our experience was positive and will most likely return to try more of the poke bowl options.

Had the Saikoro steak with white rice, cucumbers, tomatoes, wonton chips, torched cheese, green onion, red cabbage, red onion, furnace, and togarashi mayo sauce. I omitted the mushrooms. This is one of the few poke places I have been to that has meat options like both steak and chicken. For me, this made it one of my new favorites.

This spot offers daily offers as well as monthly specials for walk-in orders! For the month of July, they are featuring their ONO TORCHED TUNA in addition to these amazing offers, you will also be able to get 10% off your purchase in exchange for a Google review. Their bowls are huge and super loaded with a large assortment of fresh ingredients & toppings. I love the variety and different textures of the bowls however, one thing is that I personally would have preferred a bit more sauce in my bowls.

I'm always excited to try new poke places as it gets boring to always eat Poke Guys. I tried the build your own bowl option since I'm picky about my toppings. I was excited to try the taro chips which are an unusual offering and available to order as a side as well. The chips were great and added a crunch to the poke bowl, but I found the rest of it kind of bland. It definitely tasted more on the healthy side which may be what some people are looking for, but I prefer the marinated poke that most other places offer.

ONO is right, because that's exactly what I said after taking my first bite. I love poke, but this did not cure my hankering. Maybe it's because I ordered through Uber eats, but I don't think I would give it another try. The quality wasn't really an issue but more so the taste. It just didn't really taste that good. Maybe it's slightly cheaper than other poke spots but I'd rather pay more for something a little better. Nothing is seasoned. Everything is bland and the only thing you have to tie in the flavours is the sauce. You need the premium toppings like the seaweed salad and crab salad to carry the flavours together. The portion of fish is really small and it's not enough for the amount of rice and other veggies you get. It doesn't taste like poke, it tastes like salad. I was more surprised that the fish wasn't seasoned. I tried a piece on its own and it's just cut up unseasoned fish. Yes I know that's what poke is, but usually places will marinade it in soy sauce or something at the very least. Sad to say it was not very good. I had to add ingredients from home to make it more palatable. I've made better poke at home with less ingredients. Imagine eating sushi but they forgot to season the rice. That's pretty much what this tasted like, but cut the portion of fish in half. I was looking forward to trying the crab salad the most but they forgot to include it with the order. What a shame since that probably would have added some much needed flavour.

ONO poke bar recently celebrated the grand opening of their 7th location in Markham. They are serving up some of their most delicious Hawaiian Asian inspired poke bowls which are loaded with fresh ingredients with a focus on quality and health. They also feature some very unique ingredients in their bowls such as taro chips and crispy wontons. I was thoroughly impressed that I could taste the freshness in each bowl and it wasn't loaded with added salt or seasonings that normally leave me thirsty. Everything was very clean and light and naturally flavorful. What I ordered: Ono torched paradise Taro chips, Avocado, torched salmon and tuna, crab meat, seaweed salad, pickled ginger and teriyaki mayo sauce. Kabayaki Unagi Unagi, crabmeat salad, cherry tomatoes, crispy wontons, masago, unagi tare sauce. Dont miss out on their current lunch special BOGO DEALexclusively at their Markham location. From March 4th to March 13th between 11 to 2pm you can get BOGO on their Saikoro Beef and Avocado chicken bowls. Also stay tuned for more deals throughout the month of March as the celebrations continue! Service was amazing and everyone was super friendly and helpful. Parking can be somewhat of an issues at this plaza during peak times

Initially we were going for the idea of breakfast, but timing was a bit off from what we anticipated and it was a really nice lunch date instead. I love the Markham Marriott, the staff is always warm and welcoming. Draco has a very sleek, sophisticated and cozy atmosphere. We both ordered Bacon & Cheddar burgers. I opted for a Caesar salad as an appetizer and hubby ordered their Grilled Wagyu Flat Iron Steak. Let's start with the apps. The Caesar salad was SO good! I wish I had taken a pic, but admittedly, my phone was tucked away and I was caught up in the cozy seating, great food and Christmas vibes of the restaurant and lobby. Grilled Wagyu Flat Iron Steak: $33 - Buttercup Squash Puree and Truffle Oil - Everything you want Wagyu to be - tender, cooked to the perfect temp which left a nice warm red centre. This was melt in your mouth good! The burgers - these were perfection! Draco Bacon Cheddar Burger: $25 - Aged Cheddar with Crispy Bacon Strips; Crispy Onion Straws, Arugula and Garlic Aioli. This was a very well seasoned patty, so juicy and a substantial sized patty of fresh not frozen beef. The bun was lightly toasted, bacon crispy, easily taking this into my top 3 fav spots for burgers! Options for sides include fries, sweet potato fries, poutine, side Caesar or garden salad or truffle fries. We finished off our meal with 2 really good cappuccinos and just took our time before heading home. This was our first time back here in a few years. The food was exceptional as was the service and the warm staff. Draco is the perfect spot for an early morning breakfast, work or lunch date or a nice cozy dinner. They also have Christmas & New Years dinners and brunches. Relax in the restaurant with drinks or in the adjacent lounge, this is a great spot to unwind with some great food and drinks.

I decided to go for the baked seafood spaghetti with cold Dutch tea (both hot and cold drinks are at the same price!). The presentation was a bit messy but flavourful. I wish the staff gave extra plate for me to place the empty oyster and clam shell rather than pushing them to the edge of my plate. The staff never gave us any water until we asked. Kiu wanted a bit of a change from being known as the ramen place. This eatery is on the second floor with Cineplex, GoodLife Fitness, and more. You can get here by escalator or elevator. The Yelp event had the best sashimi. I sampled scallops, shrimp, and deep-fried shrimp heads. I also enjoyed proteins. They included New Zealand lamb, amazu chicken, and calamari. This eatery also had sushi. The torched sushi was especially excellent. I still haven't had ramen here. Someday, I will! Recently, during Lunar New Year, I was invited to my friend's place for dinner. I brought a dish. She brought a Kiu platter. It had something like thirty pieces of sashimi. It was chef's choice with the varieties. Everything was exceptionally fresh and yummy. I'm drooling reminiscing about how good the sashimi was. It was nice to know that you can still get takeout from this restaurant. I got the impression that the owners wanted more folks to enjoy the experience at their eatery. It was still special devouring amazing sashimi at my friend's place. There are individual gender-neutral washroom stalls in this eatery. Each one was wheelchair-accessible. It's located in the same plaza as Smash Kitchen and has a large, free parking lot. Despite how busy the plaza was, we had minimal trouble finding a spot. We made a reservation for 7:00 p.m. for a group of eight and were seated immediately upon arrival. They use iPads for ordering, and I appreciated that our table was given two iPads with different table numbers. It meant dishes were delivered to the correct side of the table, rather than having everyone ask who had ordered what. It was extremely busy, likely because it was the Sunday of the Civic Holiday long weekend, but the staff remained attentive throughout our visit. They were quick to respond when we had questions about our orders, acknowledged our thanks, and followed up well. Some dishes took a little longer to arrive, but order accuracy was consistently high. I also liked that the iPad clearly showed how many pieces came with each order, and the portions matched exactly what we received, making it easy to avoid over-ordering. Overall, the food was fresh and tasty. A few of the specialty rolls were a bit heavier on the sauce than we would have preferred, but everything else was enjoyable. We also appreciated the small self-serve station with salad, soup, fruit, puddings, and ice cream, which added a nice traditional buffet feel to the experience. One thing to note is that drinks are not included in the AYCE price, with only water and tea being complimentary. That said, the staff were very attentive with refills, and empty plates were cleared promptly throughout the meal. The only real drawback for us was the noise level. The restaurant was very loud, making it difficult to carry on conversations at our table. It was likely amplified by how busy the restaurant was, but it's something to keep in mind if you're hoping for a quieter dining experience. The two-hour seating limit is also closely monitored. We received a reminder around the 1.5-hour mark, along with notice that last call for orders was approaching, so it's worth keeping an eye on the time if you plan on taking your time.

I understand that we were late, but her attitude was extremely rude, harsh, and unprofessional. She spoke to us in an accusatory way instead of calmly explaining the situation. There were also several problems with how the reservation was handled. First, the information about the reservation "sitting time" was misleading and inconsistent. When I made the reservation, I was specifically told that the "order sitting time" was 1.5 hours. I asked more than once to clarify, and I was told this meant we needed to place our food order within that time. I was never told that we would have to leave exactly 1.5 hours after our reservation time. However, when we arrived, Kitty told us that because our reservation was at 6:00 PM, even if we arrived later, we would still have to leave at 7:30 PM. She also specifically said this policy applied only to customers with reservations. This was completely different from what we had been told over the phone. Second, the reservations are scheduled far too tightly, with no reasonable buffer between bookings. It is unrealistic to expect every customer to arrive exactly on time. Unexpected delays can happen due to traffic, accidents, parking, or other unforeseen circumstances, especially for families with young children. A restaurant should allow reasonable flexibility and have some buffer time between reservations rather than treating the reservation time as an inflexible deadline. If the restaurant intends to enforce a strict 1.5-hour seating limit starting from the reservation time, regardless of when the customer actually arrives, this should be clearly communicated at the time of booking. Customers should not learn about such an important restriction only after arriving. Third, even though we were late, nobody called to confirm whether we were still coming or remind us about the seating time. We only learned about the restriction after arriving, and it was communicated in a very unfriendly manner. When I asked to speak with someone above Kitty, she became even more upset, said she did not want to talk to us, and walked away. For a manager, this was extremely disappointing. A manager should be able to communicate calmly and professionally with customers, even when the restaurant is busy. We were paying customers celebrating my father's birthday, with two very young children. We came to enjoy a meal, not to be treated disrespectfully. Thankfully, another staff member, Lily (I believe that was her name, a tall woman with a braid), stepped in and helped calm the situation. We really appreciated her kindness. The food and variety were actually quite good, which makes the poor customer service even more disappointing. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and provides Kitty with proper customer-service training. Being busy is understandable, but it is never an excuse to treat customers rudely.
