The owners are quite a hard working bunch :) This small local business opens 7 days a week... hardly ever closes, even during holidays! Service is always quick, meals literally come out in seconds - I can definitely count of them when I'm starving!! Waitresses there are always friendly and courteous - they love a good chat ;) I enjoy their hearty breakfast specials, reasonably priced and gets you full for $3.99 with a hot beverage :) I always get their scrambled eggs w/ corn beef sandwich or tuna salad sandwich - all made with 3 slices of bread (be sure you tell them to toast your sandwich!) They also offer great lunch and dinner specials - different everyday. Comes with: - Sweet bread with butter (served hot, dinner service only) - Soup (Cream soup or Russian Borscht Soup) - Hot beverage (can add $$ for a cold one) - Dessert... mostly mango sago, coconut pudding, etc. (dinner service only) I'd say their food is pretty delicious... but I find that they don't give enough sauce. Maybe I'm just obsessed with sauce? lol. But you can always ask them for more =p Overall, I enjoy eating there! You can get your money's worth... it is not expensive at all :) They also offer party trays from appetizers to main courses like fried rice, noodles, and curry beef briskets #yum! You name it, they can probably make it :) P.S. Parking can be a pain (depending on the hour) because you're trying to fight over spots with people going to T&T Supermarket, and all the eateries in this plaza. They seriously need a bigger parking lot =\

This is a little HK cafe situated in the same plaza as the T&T, so around busy times, parking may be harder to find despite the large lot. We came in at around 2pm on a sunday, and there were a few tables. We ordered two dishes that were about $10 each, and they both came with a drink and soup. They were both fairly large portions, so we left very full. Food is above average, compared to other HK cafes. There seemed to be a good variety of dishes on the menu. The staff was pretty attentive and friendly, and we got our food pretty quick, but that could've been because of the lack of customers. Will definitely return to try some other dishes!

I think this is one of the top HK style cafes in terms of taste. They do their curries, black pepper, and all other sauces very well. The baked curry chicken cutlet with fried rice is really good, and they also have one of the best Guilin noodles. The service is very quick and the staff are friendly and attentive. The only downside is the seating isn't the most comfortable as the restaurant is quite small and minimalist.

2.5 Standard HK cafe fare, very small restaurant. Service was attentive and pleasant, place looks clean and neat. Food was alright, extremely small portions for the price. Also butter the bread like no tomorrow.

New Fortune Stone is practically in the same plaza as T&T but being in an awkward location as their storefront is not really visible when you driving along Steeles, I never realized it exist until I read Cherrie T review! Typical Hong Kong Style Cafe with a huge selection on their menu and offers Breakfast, Lunch, Afternoon and Dinner Special. Baked Beef with Portuguese Sauce ($7.50) lunch set comes with soup and drink was really good. Portion is huge and enough for me to pack half to go for snack later! Everyone here is so friendly and treat me like a regular even it was the first time I ever set food in this restaurant! Definitely worth coming here for a quick cheap HK fast food fix!

4.5 I have Yelp to thank for being able to find this hiddne gem. New Fortune Stone is a great little HK style cafe that I will certainly be coming back to. Pros: Expansive menu Great Staff Food is above average for HK style cafe standards Cons: Place is on the tiny side New Fortune Stone is tucked away in the same plaza as the T and T supermarket that you will never find if you don't know about it. Like I said, if I wasn't browsing around on Yelp, I would of never found this place. When you walk in, the place has a old school diner feel to it. The decor is very well done and it feels very homely to me. I can tell from the conversations customers have with staff that they have many regulars who frequent the place. The place is fairly small so it will be busy during peak hours. Opening up the menu, I see that they offer a lot of items here. Everything you usually find at HK style cafes you will find here and them some. There are many daily specials to be had here as well. The prices here are very decent and most items include a soup and a drink. They actually has so many items that I had a hard time deciding what to order. I ordered the baked chicken in cream sauce and my GF ordered the fish in spinach and mushroom sauce of rice. The soup comes out immediately after you order and the food not long after. My baked rice was very well done. The portions were good and there mushrooms included which I love. My GF's rice was a little on the salty side but good nonetheless. If I was eating it I would of liked more rice but for her it was perfect. What really stands out about this place is the staff. This is a place where everyone does know your name. The staff are super friendly here. Overhearing the conversations the staff have with the regulars really lets you know they love coming here. It's like one big family here if you ask me. It's a great atmosphere to have a meal at. Out little one had a little spill at the end of our meal and they cleaned it up without so much a smirk. I can't wait to be a regular here! If you love HK style cafes, you need to give this place a try. Above average food, great prices and awesome staff. You can't go wrong here.

Place is pretty small, wouldnt come here with a large group. They have 5-6 items on the wall for lunch deals. Food is decent like any HK cafe. Plenty of parking around. Nothing too special though. Looked like people ordered for pickup or takeouts. Remember cash only place. I got nothing bad to say or good to say. Overall just average. $8-$10 comes with soup and a hot drink (coffee).

Came across this place after shopping at T and T . I really enjoy Hong Kong style restaurants and there are not too many good ones around anymore . Great selection on the menu and service was quick and efficient . There were 2 servers and they worked so we'll together and paid attention to all the customers . Definitely coming back

This place is surprisingly small! It think there are only 10 tables. This place gets quite busy during dinner time. My boyfriend ordered noodle soup for $6.50. Serving is decent. Taste is a-ok. Not salty at all. Same goes for the sandwich I ordered. I ordered the corned beef and egg sandwich for $3.50. It is pretty bland, but you get a big sandwich for what you pay. Prices are really cheap. It was worth a try, but I don't think I am coming back again. Nothing too special about this place.

Good baked rices that come in combos with milk tea. Very small resto, not many seats. Solid option for HK style cafe, not an overwhelming selection of options.

I love my HK Cafes and I have to say this is an amazing Little Hong Kong style Cafe. Located in plaza with ample parking should not be a problem which is a plus. It's a small place so at peak times I'm sure there is a wait. Menu had lots of items and specials listed on the wall. Went for the set dinner Hawaiian pork chop with rice or spaghetti when I saw it came with dinner roll, daily soup, drink and dessert for under $11 it was a no brainer and it did not disappoint so good good and everything that came out was piping-hot and tastes great. We also had steak with black pepper sauce generous portion of meat and the sauce was not that peppery just the way I like it. So to top it off dessert was not just some pudding or fruit that you might usually get it was actually fried ice cream amazing! Was really satisfied and will go back soon to try the baked casserole dishes.

Hawaiian sauce pork chop... how? It's clearly teriyaki gravy.

Came here the first time and it was great, lots of food options, so decided to come back. Ordered three dishes; one teriyaki gravy pork chop rice and one is hawaiian sauce pork chop with spaghetti. The food came and we noticed the Hawaiian sauce pork chop is a dark teriyaki gravy sauce, when we asked if it was for another table or the kitchen made it wrong, but they claim Hawaiian sauce is like that..even though clearly it taste like my other dish, the only difference is theres a pineapple and sausage on top, and it came with rice when we asked for spaghetti. Clearly something doesn't add up. Waitress didn't apologize or even try to understand the issue. I'll just go elsewhere for my hk cafe food. Terrible service, waitresses seem like they didn't want to be there, pretty bad attitude too. There's better options in the area.

Initially we were going for the idea of breakfast, but timing was a bit off from what we anticipated and it was a really nice lunch date instead. I love the Markham Marriott, the staff is always warm and welcoming. Draco has a very sleek, sophisticated and cozy atmosphere. We both ordered Bacon & Cheddar burgers. I opted for a Caesar salad as an appetizer and hubby ordered their Grilled Wagyu Flat Iron Steak. Let's start with the apps. The Caesar salad was SO good! I wish I had taken a pic, but admittedly, my phone was tucked away and I was caught up in the cozy seating, great food and Christmas vibes of the restaurant and lobby. Grilled Wagyu Flat Iron Steak: $33 - Buttercup Squash Puree and Truffle Oil - Everything you want Wagyu to be - tender, cooked to the perfect temp which left a nice warm red centre. This was melt in your mouth good! The burgers - these were perfection! Draco Bacon Cheddar Burger: $25 - Aged Cheddar with Crispy Bacon Strips; Crispy Onion Straws, Arugula and Garlic Aioli. This was a very well seasoned patty, so juicy and a substantial sized patty of fresh not frozen beef. The bun was lightly toasted, bacon crispy, easily taking this into my top 3 fav spots for burgers! Options for sides include fries, sweet potato fries, poutine, side Caesar or garden salad or truffle fries. We finished off our meal with 2 really good cappuccinos and just took our time before heading home. This was our first time back here in a few years. The food was exceptional as was the service and the warm staff. Draco is the perfect spot for an early morning breakfast, work or lunch date or a nice cozy dinner. They also have Christmas & New Years dinners and brunches. Relax in the restaurant with drinks or in the adjacent lounge, this is a great spot to unwind with some great food and drinks.

I decided to go for the baked seafood spaghetti with cold Dutch tea (both hot and cold drinks are at the same price!). The presentation was a bit messy but flavourful. I wish the staff gave extra plate for me to place the empty oyster and clam shell rather than pushing them to the edge of my plate. The staff never gave us any water until we asked. Kiu wanted a bit of a change from being known as the ramen place. This eatery is on the second floor with Cineplex, GoodLife Fitness, and more. You can get here by escalator or elevator. The Yelp event had the best sashimi. I sampled scallops, shrimp, and deep-fried shrimp heads. I also enjoyed proteins. They included New Zealand lamb, amazu chicken, and calamari. This eatery also had sushi. The torched sushi was especially excellent. I still haven't had ramen here. Someday, I will! Recently, during Lunar New Year, I was invited to my friend's place for dinner. I brought a dish. She brought a Kiu platter. It had something like thirty pieces of sashimi. It was chef's choice with the varieties. Everything was exceptionally fresh and yummy. I'm drooling reminiscing about how good the sashimi was. It was nice to know that you can still get takeout from this restaurant. I got the impression that the owners wanted more folks to enjoy the experience at their eatery. It was still special devouring amazing sashimi at my friend's place. There are individual gender-neutral washroom stalls in this eatery. Each one was wheelchair-accessible. I appreciated the mouthwash and toothpicks in the one that I used. It was clean and felt fancy. It's a wonderful restaurant. There are items at various prices to suit your budget. I hope to get ramen one of these days, but I bet that I'll want the sushi and sashimi again! (42)

I also liked that the iPad clearly showed how many pieces came with each order, and the portions matched exactly what we received, making it easy to avoid over-ordering. Overall, the food was fresh and tasty. A few of the specialty rolls were a bit heavier on the sauce than we would have preferred, but everything else was enjoyable. We also appreciated the small self-serve station with salad, soup, fruit, puddings, and ice cream, which added a nice traditional buffet feel to the experience. One thing to note is that drinks are not included in the AYCE price, with only water and tea being complimentary. That said, the staff were very attentive with refills, and empty plates were cleared promptly throughout the meal. The only real drawback for us was the noise level. The restaurant was very loud, making it difficult to carry on conversations at our table. It was likely amplified by how busy the restaurant was, but it's something to keep in mind if you're hoping for a quieter dining experience. The two-hour seating limit is also closely monitored. We received a reminder around the 1.5-hour mark, along with notice that last call for orders was approaching, so it's worth keeping an eye on the time if you plan on taking your time.

I had a very disappointing experience at Ichiban Markham today. The food was good, but the customer…read moreservice was very poor, especially from the manager, Kitty. When I called to make the reservation, the staff member was already impatient. I had several questions because I had two young children with me--one only one month old and the other two years old. I specifically asked for a high chair and space for a stroller, but she said she was too busy to discuss these details. When we arrived, our table was surrounded by sofas, with no space for a stroller or high chair. We were late because we had two babies to take care of, and there was an accident and heavy traffic on the way. When we arrived, Kitty immediately blamed us for being late and told us that our reservation was at 6:00 PM and that we had to leave at 7:30 because another customer was coming. I understand that we were late, but her attitude was extremely rude, harsh, and unprofessional. She spoke to us in an accusatory way instead of calmly explaining the situation. There were also several problems with how the reservation was handled. First, the information about the reservation "sitting time" was misleading and inconsistent. When I made the reservation, I was specifically told that the "order sitting time" was 1.5 hours. I asked more than once to clarify, and I was told this meant we needed to place our food order within that time. I was never told that we would have to leave exactly 1.5 hours after our reservation time. However, when we arrived, Kitty told us that because our reservation was at 6:00 PM, even if we arrived later, we would still have to leave at 7:30 PM. She also specifically said this policy applied only to customers with reservations. This was completely different from what we had been told over the phone. Second, the reservations are scheduled far too tightly, with no reasonable buffer between bookings. It is unrealistic to expect every customer to arrive exactly on time. Unexpected delays can happen due to traffic, accidents, parking, or other unforeseen circumstances, especially for families with young children. A restaurant should allow reasonable flexibility and have some buffer time between reservations rather than treating the reservation time as an inflexible deadline. If the restaurant intends to enforce a strict 1.5-hour seating limit starting from the reservation time, regardless of when the customer actually arrives, this should be clearly communicated at the time of booking. Customers should not learn about such an important restriction only after arriving. Third, even though we were late, nobody called to confirm whether we were still coming or remind us about the seating time. We only learned about the restriction after arriving, and it was communicated in a very unfriendly manner. When I asked to speak with someone above Kitty, she became even more upset, said she did not want to talk to us, and walked away. For a manager, this was extremely disappointing. A manager should be able to communicate calmly and professionally with customers, even when the restaurant is busy. We were paying customers celebrating my father's birthday, with two very young children. We came to enjoy a meal, not to be treated disrespectfully. Thankfully, another staff member, Lily (I believe that was her name, a tall woman with a braid), stepped in and helped calm the situation. We really appreciated her kindness. The food and variety were actually quite good, which makes the poor customer service even more disappointing. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and provides Kitty with proper customer-service training. Being busy is understandable, but it is never an excuse to treat customers rudely.
