I can't say…read moreenough how grateful I am to have discovered​ ​The Home Store​,​ and entrust them with my rental management needs. For a more​-​than​-​reasonable management fee, The Home Store team takes care of EVERYTHING! From rent​ collection​ to dealing with all necessary payments​, ​to minor repairs​ ​to communication with my renter​,​ to helping me to re-new the lease. They event facilitated ​in ​helping me sending a small holiday gift to my tenant as ​a ​token of appreciation. The Home Store staff made my investment not only profitable, but also easy to manage and stress-free. Most importantly, it is their rigorous selection process of potential tenants that I feel that my rental property is well-taken care, with ​a ​reliable and caring tenant. The family that resides​ in​ my property is fiscally responsible, reports minor repairs in a timely manner, keeps ​the ​front lawn and house looking great, and overall makes me feel that they care about my house as it ​is their own.     I rented a home managed by The Home Store for two years. During our tenancy, things generally went…read moresmoothly, and maintenance requests were handled appropriately. However, the move-out process was very disappointing and unprofessional. It took exactly 30 days after we moved out to receive our security deposit, and only because we reached out to ask about it. The company admitted they hadn't sent it yet and then mailed it to the property we had moved out of--despite both my roommate and I providing forwarding addresses. New tenants had already moved in, making this even more careless. When we finally received the itemized list of charges, there were several questionable deductions: * Repainting: We were charged for repainting with no documentation of any damage caused by us. Once I questioned it, they removed the charge immediately. * Tree/Weed Removal: We were billed for "tree removal," but after I disputed it, they changed their explanation to "weed removal." * Garage Door Handle: We were charged $100 to replace a garage door handle that never worked during our tenancy. The part costs around $20 at Home Depot, and management had previously told us to secure the garage with a separate lock instead. After I pointed out that they sent the deposit to the wrong address, they reduced some--but not all--of the unfair charges. Overall, this experience showed a lack of professionalism and transparency. It feels like they tried to retain as much of the security deposit as possible until questioned. I would caution others to document everything carefully and be prepared to dispute unfair charges when renting from them.
