My husband and I both train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and despite our best efforts, our children were less than enthused to give it a try. Cue Lisa Isaacs, her four daughters, and Noah Spear at Spear Jiu Jitsu. We were looking into a kids class and it happened to work perfectly with our schedule. Our children wished to sit on the sidelines during the first class (instead of jumping in) and Lisa and her daughters couldn't have been more fantastic in allowing them to acclimate while making them feel included and participatory in the class. It has now been over a month and our kids now train THREE TIMES PER WEEK!!! They beg to go and we couldn't be more grateful to the people here. We have watched our shy, reserved, and quiet child blossom into a confident leader who is willing to DEMONSTRATE moves for the class!! This is beyond our wildest dreams! There truly aren't any words that fully express how impressed we are with this class and Spear Jiu Jitsu! Jiu Jitsu forces you outside of your comfort zone and teaches invaluable lessons that mirror life. I'll admit, I begrudgingly went to the second class dreading the various cycles we had gone through the week before. I assumed that because the classes were free, they would be exactly the same. Wrong! Every single class has been different. Each has been painful in its own special way, but for me, not knowing what's next makes it easier to push through. This has kept me going back for more week after week. Although I already have a gym membership and pay for another boot camp in NJ, I am seriously considering looking into Platoon's programs.
