While I was waiting for the tow truck, George from the Valero gas station noticed I was stopped in a dangerous spot and came over to check on me. Even though I wasn't there for service, he helped me move my car to a safer area and made sure I was okay. That kind of kindness is rare and meant so much in a stressful moment. Maria's Towing also arrived quickly, and the driver was incredibly friendly and professional. He checked the car, took photos, explained what he thought might be wrong, and made sure I stayed warm and dry in the truck while he loaded my car in the rain. He gave me a price of $150 a wheel!!Which is absurd. That's $300. I can buy all four tires for under $280. I went over to my guys at ETD in Hackensack and payed $84 before tax. That's mounted and balanced. I get you have to pay for the convenience of him coming to you and to make a dollar but taking advantage is a whole different story.
