There's no shortage of towing companies; just pick a different one. The interview process for this place clearly consists of just one important question: "how slowly can a person physically move, and can you demonstrate?" I have unfortunately had two experiences with this company, and both times, I was left standing in the cold for nearly an hour while being told by a helplessly stoned individual on the phone from behind his Xbox controller, "my guy will be there any minute." Dealing with the folks who work here is excruciating enough, but I'll admit: having to pay to replace the two perfectly good tires they slashed due to their impressive levels of negligence was almost as bad. I reached out to Roadside Assistsnce and they contacted Basking Ridge Towing. I was told 90-120 minutes. I called snd was told 30 minutes. An hour passed and nothing. They said another 30 minutes. Now, 2 1/2 hours have passed. Was told another 30 minutes, and then no one answered the phone and no one called me. I canceled and my friend called another truck. They came in 15 minutes and then Basking Ridge Towing shows up. I was so annoyed! This is no way to run a business! I cannot even give them 1 star but I had to do that. read more

Dropped off a U-Haul here after a 42 mile trip (vehicle averages 10 miles per gallon, so about 4.2 gallons) and somehow Basking Ridge Towing decided to charge me for 17 gallons of fuel. Highly recommend taking a picture of your dashboard when dropping it off at this location. read more

First, they took about 5 hours to tow my car. Then they lost it. Literally. The place they were supposed to tow it to didn't have it. 24 hours later I get a call from some random gas station 7 miles from the tow destination that my car was there. I then needed them to tow it to the original destination which is closed on sundays. I called at 9am Saturday to have it towed. Was towed by 9pm. So I've been without a car for almost a week because of the incompetence of this company. Looking at other reviews I can't believe these guys are still in business. I, like everyone else on here went through my car insurance. I hope they drop them. One star is too much. This experience was a nightmare. read more

I waited 3 hours before finally deciding to ask my mom to use her AAA. After an hour of waiting, I called Basking to get ETA. They said 10 minutes. I called in another 30 minutes and they said 10 minutes again. Then I called again and they started completely ignoring my calls. I GOT MY CAR TOWED FROM HERE THROUGH CAR INSURANCE AND THINGS WERE MISSING FROM MY CAR!!!!! I was already going to give a bad review because they were supposed to come by 6:40-7 and he called me at 8:15 asking if I still needed it towed. Turns out my $40 USB-C iPhone charger was missing and other things were clearly shuffled around. I feel so violated. I called and the owner immediately was defensive "are you saying one of my guys stole?" First off- I asked the same question to the car dealership where my car was towed and they were very nice and gracious and actually trying to help. This guy clearly wasn't. I will also be reporting them to my insurance company to not use them. Not only are they late like every other review says, but now this? Was quoted $185 tow a toolbox for me at 1pm, then they called back and said it would be 3pm, waited another 2 hours and I called back to reschedule next day at 9am. Driver shows next day at 10am Waited a total of 5 hours between 2 days. Think I got a break for them wasting my time on price? Negative. Turned out to be $195, I never leave bad reviews but really was expecting more especially since one of the guys is familiar with me. My insurance uses a third party who in turn uses this company. I just agreed to wait 2 hours more rather than deal w this company. When the ETA was passed by 20 min I called and got the rudest businessperson I've ever interacted with. In the midst of a thunderstorm w/ my car window open - not an iota of concern and the rudest tone. It's hot, it's late, I get it but- wow. My reviews are never one star. I rented a 26 foot UHAUL and by the end of move in day it was stuck in the mud! UHaul called Basking Ridge Towing and said they would be at my residence in 45 minutes. Not only was our driver, Kyle, prompt, but he was in and out of his truck in the dark and pouring rain to get ours out. After removing it from the mud mess, he even stayed as we pulled it out of the driveway to make sure we didn't have any other issues. Absolutely awful. I called for a tow and they told me 60 minutes. An hour and 20 minutes later I got a hold of the driver who said 5-10 more minutes. At an hour and forty-five the dispatcher said he would have the driver call me since he was not picking up the phone. He never called and I ended up canceling the tow at just under two hours! I placed a roadside assistance request through my insurance (liberty mutual) and they used this company as provider, poor service and definitely not on time! I called as soon as the insurance gave me the information of the provider and the person who got the call informed to me they would be at the place in 90 minutes, he was definitely not friendly at the call, after the 90 minutes waiting I called them back and they never got the call, or got back to me! Extremely unprofessional. Was two hours late. Told them originally no one would be home, because they were late I was home. When I went outside to greet the man he told me to go back inside that he would handle this. Hung up multiple times when trying to contact the company. My insurance company sent them out, thinking they would know best. My insurance company arranged for my vehicle to be towed from my driveway to my autobody shop. If there was an option for no stars on this review, it would be much more well suited. The tow truck driver never as so much introduced himself, let alone come to the door to say he was here. He clearly had an attitude upon arrival. He was very short and abrupt. He didn't have the correct address and was having trouble with his gps. When finally asked for his name, he mumbled it. Upon leaving and taking my vehicle to the shop, he called to say he couldn't find it. After putting up with his tone, I clearly stated I didn't appreciate the attitude he had since arriving at my home. If people like Jared don't like what they do, perhaps do.something else. I live in Wayne, and my car was towed to this god forsaken place. First of all, this place intentionally hides their address and I couldn't find them online. Second of all, when I called them to ask where their location was, they were completely rude, unaccomodating, and out of line. Because of this some back and forth went on, and when I called them again to verify that someone will be there when I pick my car up, they blocked my number!! Can you believe that? Third of all, when I finally got there my car had scratches and damages to it that were previously not there. If I wasn't so busy with my schedule for something so small, I would have definitely take them to a small claims court. The people who own this place are immoral and the most unpleasant people I've ever dealt with. If you have a choice, don't let them handle your car. This company was called by corporate fleet program. Was told 50 min and after 2 hours someone still not there. Kept being told driver was in traffic and they couldn't give me an estimate on time. You would be better off pushing your car than calling this tow company. They confirmed a tow and gave an eta of 90 minutes. I waited in the cold till the 90 minutes passed and called asking for an eta. They said "they cancelled the order because someting came up". They had no common courtesy to call me and tell me they could not make it and I doubt they ever would have called. They did not extend the courtsey to try to call anothet tow truck or recommend any other that might do the tow. read more

My husband was left on the side of the road last night for 4 hours! This company is contracted to New Jersey Manufacturers Roadside Assistance. We were texted an approx ETA which came and passed. When calling the company we were either met with a man who was very curt and yelled at us- or nobody picked up the phone at all. When I called NJM to ask what the heck was going on, the female operator called Basking Ridge Towing and was also screamed at. As a Social Media Manager with my company, I am absolutely STUNNED that a service provider would respond to customers with such an attitude. I must say that the tow truck driver (not the same person) was very humble, respectful, and pleasant- unlike the person on the phone. Nobody should be left on a major highway for FOUR HOURS with no way to roll down the windows, no food or water, and a dead cell phone from trying to get help in the summer heat! I can only imagine what kind of dangerous situation this would be for an elderly or sick person or a parent with small children. I am outraged...absolutely outraged. I am waiting to see the bill for this type of service and will be back to update my review accordingly. Let's now see what kind of company this really is. read more

This towing company just towed a family's car from out front of a restaurant. One of the parking spaces is marked for a smaller shop -- but it was Sunday and that shop was closed, and anyone would have parked there in that spot, especially if you had 2 young children to walk unsafely up from the further parking lot.The poor family does not have that kind of money. I covered half the costs simply to negate the awful karma companies like Basking Ridge Towing introduce into our neighborhoods.Horrible, anti-community hole-in-the-wall company to be avoided at all costs. Took them nearly an hour and a half on a Thursday afternoon to come and put a spare tire on my fleet vehicle (and I was 10 minutes from Basking Ridge, just in Bedminster). The quoted me 60 minutes when called at 2:42 and they showed up at 4:15. If I wasn't required to stick with them to to company contracts with certain vendors, I definitely would be gone elsewhere.
