Made a great detour! The burgers are huge and the sweet potato fries are amaaaazing!!! The staff is super friendly. Definitely worth the stop. Oh and the cinnamon rolls are to die for!

Best burger I ever had in all 47 years of my life!

Best burger ever. Seriously. And huge. I don't know if it's cause they are so close to all the cows out there (so the beef is fresher) or if they are just the best burger chefs ever. But I was sad to take the last bite, knowing it was over and I couldn't possibly fit anymore into my gob. Well worth the stop. OMG, don't drive past this one. Stop and eat. I had the bacon cheeseburger, and my mom had the Patty-Melt. Both were near orgasmic. Seriously.

If your an avid rock hound or just speeding through on I-15 be sure this is one of your stops. The food alone in this cozy little place was great down home style cafe cooking you just can't find anymore. The staff were so friendly and attentive even though they were slammed with a bus tour when we got there. The gift shop was filled with all sorts of cool things to buy but the icing on the cake is for just $10 and your own garden rake and spray bottle you can go out back and dig for genuine opals! The husband and I spent 4 hours out there having fun learning neat tips from Randy and walked away with some beautiful specimens one of which we later had appraised for $400. A few things to know before going: They are open seven days a week, the "mine" is open til 5 and they have a few rules like no open toed shoes or children under 4 for safety reasons.

Our plates, no shortage of food.

Great patty melt. Wonderful hot meatloaf sandwich. Fruit salad was the bomb. Couldn't ask for better service.

Super friendly. Just passing through and stopped for coffee. Loved the very small town. Lots of neat items in store.

However, the staff (especially Mike) were very helpful in pointing us in the right direction, and even found and gave some nice opals to us. Ultimately, we found a good amount of gem grade opal--enough to offset the fees paid for mining for it. I will have many hours of cutting ahead of me and anticipate many fine stones coming out of the material that we found. Overall, it was a good experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to acquire some opal rough and experience the mining process. As a side note, they do provide a nice lunch and beverages to keep you hydrated during hot weather.

The pink opal is the rarest. They have the triplet opal, never knew it existed, looks dark and mysterious. Staff member waited on me. He had an opal pendant dangling on him. He was helpful and friendly and attentive too. They were putting together some marquis shaped dangle earrings on sterling silver posts. The pink gold is available, but the backings are white gold. It's an additional $100 or so. I settled on the sterling silver post and marquis since they had no earrings readily available with the white gold posts or sterling silver posts. $200 for the small dangling sterling silver opal earrings.
