The small group training class that I'm familiar with is 99% weights and muscle group training with a two minute cardio finish. There are classes pretty much every hour minus Sunday. The atmosphere is them incredibly welcoming and non-intimidating and my weeks are better because of them.

For Covid, they check temperatures when you walk in and everyone has to wear a mask. They also have hand sanitizer at all of the workout stations. The space is always clean and fresh. If you're out of shape like I am, it can be intimidating just to set foot inside where most people are in shape and "look the part." However, I was made to feel comfortable right away. If you're new to Barre, I would recommend starting with a breaking down the barre class or a foundations class to get started. All classes can be modified, and instructors are happy to help you get the most out of your workout/answer any questions you may have. During class I sweat like heck and really feel the burn. Afterwards, I always feel awesome. The next day, I'm so pleasantly sore and want to go back again! I can already feel and see changes in my flexibility and muscle tone after just a few classes. It's not the cheapest workout around, but it's so worth the investment in yourself!

The dumbbells go into the hundreds and they are new or in good shape. There are some machines that should have more than one, but instead there is a good variety. It is trade off that gyms face. The clientele seems to be a mix, but I tend to go when college kids are in there. I see some guys and girls who could or probably do compete in competitions. I like being around serious gym goers who know gym etiquette. The front desk staff is nice and the trainers unlike the Cary location are much nicer and professional. The bathroom and locker room is usually clean as well which is nice. They have towel service here which is great. The gym remains a tad bit more expensive than it should be considering similar gyms which is why I leave off a star, but I enjoy this gym and I train often. Recently O2 bought the Golds Gym locations in Wilmington so this is your only real option for a good/great gym. I've also been doing a lot of RPM classes over the past few weeks and their instructors are great. Adrian and Jose stand out as pretty awesome, but there are others that are good too. I was first introduced to this fitness center through a friend who brought me to a Boot Camp class. I run half marathons. I exercise every day. This class was so hard that I thought I might die but I loved it. My body hurt in places that I never even knew before. It is really addictive. I am 57 so I have to modify some exercises (old joints and bones) but the classes still work for me. Since that first never-will-I-forget-it boot camp class, I have become an avid fan of the Tues & Thurs Pilates class and the Saturday Booty Bar. I love how these classes are reshaping my body. My jeans are looser and there is no more muffin top! The people in the classes are friendly and help motivate me when I don't think I can do another sit up. Everyone in the class is focused on toning and sculpting their bodies. It is really a transformational experience. Hello Abs! Goodbye Back Fat! Lockers have a Sauna that is included. 24-hour access is an extra cost, which is my only frustration as we only need to use this on rare occasions & some holidays when they don't have staff at the desk. In general, the hours are great & we almost never need the 24-access (but those very few times we do is not worth paying the extra for.....would be great if they gave each member a 5x/year 24-access limit for free). Lots (and lots) of equipment to aid in congestion. They do have a large yoga-barre room with mirrors (rubber floor) and a cross-fit/plyometrics area upstairs. Wonderful staff & trainers!!!

Amplifly has changed my life!!…read more I've always enjoyed working out- but I think I could almost say I LOVE working out now. I never thought I would enjoy getting in exercise for the day as much as I have at Amplifly. I gave this gym a go one January day that I had off from work just to see if I liked it. I loved it so much that I continued purchasing packs of classes to come back. I live in Sneads Ferry which is about 35 minutes from this gym, I enjoy coming here so much that I'm willing to drive that time just to come here. They offer classes of all types and all experience levels are welcomed in each. I personally have only been to the spin classes, but I love them so much that I haven't tried anything else. Some of my favorite spin instructors here are CJ, Alisha, and Ali- she's the owner! The studio is spacious & offers spaces large enough for all their classes. The music is always bumping & the instructors are experienced to help out gym goers of any experience level. What I love most about this gym is that you aren't just another member. The instructors & other gym goers take the time to learn your name, and get to know you- it's like you're a member of a family. The instructors take time to get to know you & learn your goals and encourage you every step of the way. There's always some type of challenge or special going on month to month, and they encourage you to bring friends to show them what it's all about. They offer classes for children, and child care at certain days & times throughout the week for all those busy grownups that still want to prioritize their health. There are plenty of clean bathrooms available here which offer showers & almost any type of item that you could need or forgot for the gym might be found here. To give more in depth details: -Loud Music, usually high-tempo dance/EDM music or remixes of popular songs -Very interactive with the instructor, there are often dance-like moves incorporated -Lighting varies throughout the class. Typically a dark room with DJ-like flashing lights. Lighting adjusts with song/tempo. -Room is kept fairly cool (Oh and on Fridays they end class with free Truleys & Beer )
