I've had good luck with the St. Louis Park location for dresses to attend weddings. It's a fair price too compared to Nordstrom or Macys.

I've been to this place many times and I can say it's great. As a man I've purchased lots of Ralph Lauren here and other quality brands for very low prices. Service here is decent, and I will admit this store does have its off-days but in all, the deals here on unmatched to anywhere else. read more

I was in dire need of shoes for a wedding I was attending a few years ago and found this pair of champagne wedges that I just had to retire after years of regular wear. They actually became my almost daily summer work shoes since they were so comfortable. I loved the selection here, some things are a little hard to find just because there is so much there. I'll be visiting soon to find a new pair of boots since I just had to retire my favorite pair. read more

Opitz is an ADDICTION!! This store has been in SLP for years and that store is stuffed and crowded. I prefer this location hands down! Now I will not kid you and say it's fancy because it's not... its a big warehouse that is filled with fabulous designers at a fraction of the price! It's seriously what I would call retail heaven! The shoe selection is amazing and when they do close out's for $5 and $10... Imelda Marcos eat your heart out! Clothes are sorted by color in each section you will have to basically dig threw clothes to find that perfect bargain! I love a challenge! Very dissatisfied with my visit to Opitz. After searching for quite some time I was ready to try on my picks for fit only to find that they don't monitor the changing rooms and only 1/2 are open so it is a huge wait. The changing rooms were not cleaned and emptied out after each person. I'm not sure with the Covid guidelines are for this but it's a mess. I imagine people are just stuffing things in their bags because nobody is keeping track of anything. I've been a long time customer of theirs I don't think I'll ever go back. read more

I'm getting my ashes sprinkled here when I die. Opitz is my happy place. And I'm happy to report that the Minnetonka location is at least as good as the St. Louis Park location. My BFF and I have been coming here since we were teenage girls shopping for prom 15 years ago. Back then all dresses were $35. We joke that "making it" as adults is being able to buy off the designer rack at Opitz - it's a thrill; there's so much good stuff I get a frenzied high. I hope I'm never so rich that I won't care about the deals we get here, because it brings me so much joy. Mackage, Max Mara, Alice and Olivia, Veronica Beard, Theory, Joie, Elie Tahari, Vince, and more. And all the Eileen Fischer for my mom. The other name brands that aren't so high end are so good - there's the full gamut of trendy and classic styles at various price points, for anyone who enjoys shopping at Revolve, Shopbop, Nordstrom/Nordstrom Rack. Lovers + Friends, Loft, One Teaspoon, BlankNYC, Free People, French Connection, Bar III, the list goes on and on. They also buy 000P and jeans in 22 and 23 and in cropped styles to boot. As a small person, I feel gratitude that I can go pants shopping here too. The buyers at Opitz have their finger on the pulse. As a business owner, I want to like, get to know these people, and thank them for dressing me all these years. Oh I just love the messy racks and the dingy warehouse feel - it makes the good finds feel even more like hidden treasure. If I still lived in MN, I would literally work out more so I could look better in my clothes. A few shopping trips to Opitz every year actually improves my quality of life - Opitz would literally solve all my problems. I know I sound crazy - and I'm kinda joking (but not). I have no clue what's going with Opitz, but I've noticed their St. Louis Park and Minnetonka prices have slowly crept up and remained up. When launching their Minnetonka location, you could usually find some great deals as long as you were willing to hunt through their endless aisles. Since the sign outside went up, their prices followed. I was there yesterday (2/8/14) and their winter wear was still full price. Yes, it's MN and we will need to have warm clothes around for awhile (DAMN), but most other clothing retailers have reduced their Fall & Winter clothes a fair amount...but not Opitz. As if their unacceptable prices weren't enough, a large chunk of their clothes appear to be used. Their shoes are dirty on the bottom, the bags have worn marks and X's on the tag (meaning the retailer removed them from their stock), and the shirts are several seasons old (3+). If you are going to sell recycled clothes, price accordingly guys...reel it in. I would love to take their buyers and the buyers at Len Druskin to LA to educate them in the life cycle of the soft lines they buy. Someone needs to give them a reality check. read more

Obviously you can't just pop in and find exactly what you need, but when you're jonesing for a little retail therapy this is absolutely the place to do it. On my first visit, I was really impressed by how clean and well organized everything was - as well as how courteous and helpful the staff seemed. It was easy to navigate the different sections, and I was especially impressed with their offerings of footwear! My only complaint is that high end items are mixed in with lower price items, so I kept finding things I absolutely adored and then feeling crushed when they were WAY out of my price range. A friend recommended this place, claiming it was absolutely amazing; I left thinking the exact opposite. I thought I would be coming into a store with slightly discounted, but new goods (expecting them to be a season or more old). What I noticed was everything appeared to be used, extremely dirty, or absolutely hideous. The pricing scale didn't reflect the goods, meaning the article of clothing may be stained or have a snag, but you're only paying 10$ less than retail (it was ridiculous). So much fun to shop here! I love finding hidden treasures and the staff are super fun and engaging ! You have to like to dig and not be afraid of a blemish or two - so worth it if you want to be original! Return policy is pretty tight - sales final on clearance 7 days for store credit otherwise but nothing beats the cash register receipt announcing how much you've save off retail!!! I love this place! I come here whenever I need to buy new clothes now. There are tons of clothes for men and women to look through and I always have people saying they love my clothes and asking where I shop. If you are looking for fresh items go on Wednesday mornings right when they open! This is when they have all of their new inventory out for purchase. If you are a guy and looking for shoes, go at this time as their really nice shoes sell fast. I not a pair of BOSS Orange sneakers that I live in and they were only $30.00! I've always found great, cheap dresses for school dances and dress shoes. I have a question, is opitz a sustainable store to shop at?

I adore this store! It's well organized for an outlet and everything is at least 70% off retail including ultra high end items like Jimmy Choo pumps! Unlike most outlets they have great items even in sizes other than the extremes. I've gotten amazing dresses, jeans, jewelry and tops but they have everything from underwear to random housewares. The handbag selection is decent but leaves more to be desired. Perhaps the great bags go super fast (rarely, I've seen Fendi bags and even a Chloe phantom bag). I even saw an exquisite coat once that retailed for $42,000 so expect runway samples on occasion mixed in with Ann Taylor Loft cashmere sweaters. Just be sure to check all your items for damage and irregularities before checking out! read more

Best place for formals and semi-formals at amazing prices. I bought 3 formals on their final sale rack for work dinners/balls for $30 (orig $160), $50 (orig $559), and $75 (orig $760). I have worn one ($30) just recently to a ball and rec'd unbelievable compliments. The other two are a little long so I need alterations but they are amazing too. We also got my daughter's homecoming dress there for $45 (orig $150?) and it was beautiful. On occasion I find everyday items. I once bought a few pairs of shoes (Franco Sarta) there and a nice shawl but generally that's not my purpose for the visit. I don't have the patience to rummage thru all the relatively packed clothing sorted by color. Ultimately it's a great place for formal and semi formal items, esp considering the prices. read more

I love the way it is set up and the remodel they did to their dressing rooms a while back. They also have a nice and helpful staff. Made it by all three of these stores this trip, this one was the big hit, they where clearing the racks before restocking with winter stuff. So other then the shoes, and outerwear, most every thing in the store was $1. Yes that is right less then a cup of coffee, yes madness ensued yes a great many thing where brought in the end for a dollar some thing where worth buying for the belt, and turning the garment into rags. Yes this Opitz is much larger in size and not cramed in as much as the SLP location. Unfortunately I felt the prices were higher then the SLP and the amount of goods werent as great for the selection. They did offer a ton of clearance shoes that were price from $5-15 in every size but not worth the drive out specifically for a shopping day here. read more

I come to this place just for the shoes, and occasionally the clearance rack. I'm cursed with having size 14 shoes, so aside from looking for boots or shoes on amazon, it is hard to find anything larger than 13. This place has a nice selection of size 14 boots and shoes priced cheaply. I'd give it 4 stars if I came to browse the store for khakis or a shirt that says Polo on it or something because the prices on some stuff can be high, but in relation to what exactly? Retail, other outlets, what you think it's worth, ect? I can't exactly comment on that, because I'm a guy and I'm not into browsing the clothes store for hours to find the perfect shirt that has Polo stamped on it. Opitz deserves five stars. It is the best liquidator for designer clothes around the Twin Cities that I am aware of. They also have household items at times as well as good gifts. My mother once got a Mackenzie Childs lamp for around $500. It retails over $2000. Everything there is 70% off the original price and I have gone to the Internet several times to make sure this is correct. One of my favorite fines was a pair of Stuart Weitzman stiletto summer sandals for $20. I was scared that they would think I switched the stickers because it was such a find. The shoes were still online for sale for over $300, their original retail price was almost $500. I found another pair of Stuart Weitzman booties this past winter and got them for $41. This pair of booties is from three seasons ago, but you would never know because they are equally in style as anything current. I have other designer shoes, designer swimsuits and dresses from there. You have to be willing to take time through the racks. If you're into handbags and accessories, there are usually several options for that as well. There is a second location in St. Louis Park, but I prefer the Minnetonka location. It's less crowded and I prefer the selection. read more
