Let us be honest we all love cheap flights and Opodo offer cheap flights. If the booking is uncomplicated they are a good site to use. If you have to cancel flights, yes you will get an Indian call centre and yes you will have to chase refunds but hey you got lots of cheap flights what are you expecting? I use 6-7 times a year and every now and then have to try and resolve an issue and in the end it gets resolved. I am certainly going to continue to use. read more

1 Star: Extremely disappointing customer service - months of refund delays I booked a flight through Opodo that was cancelled by the airline. Since then, I've been waiting for over five months for my refund, despite receiving several written confirmations that it would be processed. All my attempts to contact customer service -- by email, chat, and phone -- have either gone unanswered or ended with generic, copy-and-paste replies that solved nothing. Even after a one-hour call with the hotline, I received no clear answer or concrete help. I was repeatedly asked to resubmit documents because "the data was missing," although I had already sent everything multiple times. I have since sent a formal reminder and a final notice with a payment deadline, yet there has been no response whatsoever -- neither a payment nor an explanation. This behavior completely contradicts Opodo's public promise of "fast and transparent customer service." In reality, what I experienced was a pattern of systematic refund delays and intentional communication barriers. The loss of trust is irreversible: I can no longer associate this company with reliability or professionalism. I am now forwarding the case to the EU Consumer Dispute Resolution Platform and, if necessary, taking legal action. After more than 20 years of booking flights online, I can honestly say this has been the worst customer experience I've ever had. Never again, Opodo. read more

NEW SCAM TRICK BY OPODO Besides the Prime membership scam, Opodo is now scamming customers by changing their ticket classes. I booked a business class ticket for approximately £94, which was about £3 cheaper than other apps (around £97). However, instead of receiving the business class ticket I paid for, they issued me an economy class ticket, even though the economy fare is clearly £64. I contacted customer service and submitted a complaint form with all the supporting evidence, but their response stated that the booking could not be changed and no refund would be issued. In the end, my attempt to save £3 ended up costing me £30. Avoid this company at all costs, they scam customers by changing ticket classes. read more

Last time I used them for a car rental, they charged my credit without my authorisation for an amount but not relevant to my booking, as that was charged separately. Called my credit card company that confirmed that both charges were from the same company. After 1.5 hours talking to bots, 2 different online agents and one on the phone they said they didn't do the second unauthorised one and could not help. Will never use them again. read more

Opodo charged me 99 CHF for a "Prime membership" I never consented to. This is an unauthorized debit, and despite my immediate requests for reversal, they have refused to respond. This is not just bad service -- it's borderline fraud. Sneaking charges onto a customer's account without consent, then ignoring all attempts to rectify the situation, is predatory and illegal. I am prepared to escalate this to consumer protection authorities, my bank, and legal channels. Avoid Opodo if you value your money, your time, and your peace of mind. read more

Misleading Insurance & Zero Accountability - Avoid Opodo at All Costs I booked plane tickets through Opodo a few months ago and specifically paid extra for their cancellation insurance, knowing there was a chance I might not be able to travel. Unfortunately, I was right -- I couldn't board the flight. When I tried to cancel, Opodo flat-out refused to refund me, claiming the cancellation policy didn't apply, despite my insurance purchase. The support was robotic and dismissive, and I was left with zero refund and zero explanation. This is predatory behavior -- selling a product (insurance) that seems to be intentionally vague and ultimately useless, and then offering no support when you try to use it. Do not trust Opodo's insurance options. Do not trust their "customer service." Do not trust their platform. I've lost my money, and I want others to avoid the same trap. AVOID OPODO. Book directly with airlines or use reputable platforms that actually respect their customers. read more

Avoid it. this is a Scammer company completely. Took the so called subscription free from my card for two years and once caught as a pending transaction today, refused to refund the fee. Tried to cheat customer by pushing them to pay the 50% fee- why? Then claimed that the fee non-refundable but why customer should pay for such a deceptive subscription fee without authorisation? I would really like to see if any others also have the interest to go for a legal action together for its breaching information security, cheating customer and comprising UK trading standards (forced buying). read more

DO NOT USE OPODO - terrible service as soon as any complications from the airlines at all. Avoid for your peace of mind! We have had the worst customer service and an extremely stressful time with Opodo over the last few months, and we have been on the phone with them or on the chat repeatedly, at some points every day, , in the lead up to our trip trying to get this resolved. We booked and paid for flights with Opodo (bought in October 2024), and we have gotten a number of messages in the lead up to our flights saying that flights have been cancelled, but when they've rebooked them, they have given us misconnections and offered more expensive options on different days entirely. When we have instructed Opodo to do so, they told us it was our responsibility to go through the airline(s) directly. However, the customer service of the airlines said that since Opodo had carried out the bookings, Opodo was responsible. Additionally, we had no login information, as Opodo had made the bookings, so it was extremely confusing. When we did manage to get through to the airlines, they told us that of course Opodo, as our travel agent, should rebook the flights, and we were not in a position to do so as individuals without losing substantial amounts of money. I cannot tell you how stressful this has all been, largely because of what we see as the difficulty of getting Opodo to confirm flights and to lock them down. We kept being told it would take 24-48-72 hours to confirm, and then no-one would get in touch with us, meaning that we had to continually chase them over and over again. When we did manage to get through to them, Opodo agents were almost completely incompetent: from not knowing the answers to things, to telling us to go back to the airlines even though we've booked through Opodo. It's almost as though Opodo don't realise they are a travel company. During our trip, we received updates from the Opodo app that were completely inaccurate, causing further stress and headache for us. On the last day, there was an alert saying our flight time had changed to earlier - but in fact this was not the case at all, so we don't know what this was about. The service we received fell well below the standard expected; and given how Opodo seemed unable to simply rebook flights for us, we feared they were playing fast and loose with out money at times, trying to pocket the surplus by underspending on flights, which they moved. A salutary lesson: do not use Opodo to book your flights; save yourself time and stress and use another service - or book through the airlines directly, as we plan to do in future. We started off thinking it was great that we could save a couple of hundred pounds with Opodo - but honestly by the end would gladly have paid this to be in control ourselves and avoid all of the stress! read more

I booked a train and hotel with Opodo last year . All was fine. I was told I would be notified when my subscription came up for renewal, but I was not. So I tried to phone to cancel , It was very difficult to find a phone number. The phone numbers on offer were unavailable, but eventually I spoke to someone. I told him I had had to cancel my subscription because I had no wish to use them again . I believe that he was pretending he could not hear me when I said "NO thanks" in reponse to his question "SO we will send you further deals in a couple weeks? You cant answer me ? " And he put the phone down . This is no way to treat their customers. I am perfectly within my rights not to wish to continue my subscription. read more

PLEAE BE AWARE OPODO OPERATE A SCAM TO GET YOU TO SUBSCRIBE TO PRIME MEMBERSHIP. They sign you up then you are unable to turn off auto-renew. After 12 months they will take a further £79.99 from your account whether you want them to or not. They will trick you into signing up for another 12 months at a reduced rate. BUT STILL THEY DONT TURN OFF AUTO-RENEW. Be aware of this. I have communicated verbally by phone, by email and by complaint to ensure auto-renew is disabled, but every year they take £79.99 from my account and tell me its non refundable. I have had this issue for 4 years. I dont want to be a customer but they keep taking my money. I have sent them a copy of an email that explicitly states I do not want to be a Customer and not to auto-renew my account, but every year they continue to take my money. A VERY DISHONNEST company. I am looking to take legal action and get the Press interested. BAD BEHAVIOUR from Opodo. PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY! If we all complain then they will change their dishonest behaviour. terrible do not book anything with them - they say is lower price but they increase to then do 'promotions' customer service not good - they say different things, not helpful. they told me to call withing 15 days to cancel and get the money, i did call with 1 day and they refused to give me a refund. terrible the worste and i do travel a lot and they are my worse experience. avoid at all costs. read more

I signed up for an Opodo Prime membership, which saved me around £20 on a flight earlier this year. When I decided that the £69.99 Prime membership was too expensive for the number of holidays I'd likely book, I phoned up to cancel because - of course! - it wasn't possible on their app or website... An incredibly lengthy call ensued, where I was offered a discounted price of £19.99 including 2 vouchers - £70 off a flight & £100 off a flight/hotel booking. The minimum spend after the voucher was only £1! It sounded too good to be true! Unfortunately it was. Vouchers were supposed to land in my inbox in January but failed to arrive. I didn't realise until a few months later - after another painfully long call to a call centre in India with a terribly unclear line, the flight voucher finally arrived despite being told to expect both vouchers. Admittedly, I should've chased it earlier than November - but I've just wasted over 20 minutes on the phone to establish that their policy changed in May and I wouldn't be getting a second voucher. Their arrogant, argumentative and incompetent staff manning the so-called "VIP customer service" lines have an attitude problem as well as a limited command of English. After wasting time chatting to one agent for several minutes, I was transferred to another one without any explanation. The second agent asked me to provide evidence of what I was offered in January (after lying about the vouchers having already been sent), which I did. Instead of applying common sense and keeping their word and issuing the voucher, I was told their policy had changed in May. No communication was received then to alert me to the change. In any case, it's irrelevant because the vouchers were promised 4 months prior and used as bait to stop me cancelling Prime. At best, it's dishonest and at worst, a fraudulent practice. It's also a bizarre way to treat a customer if they expect any repeat business! Once I've ensured my membership won't auto-renew, I'll be deleting the app and will have no plans to give these lying charlatans any future business. read more

I've been travelling extensively for years and have used various online travel agencies, but my experience with Opodo has been the worst. Here's why I would never recommend them to anyone: 1. Flight Cancellation and No Refund Over three years ago, I purchased a flight ticket through Opodo. Unfortunately, the flight was canceled by the airline. While such situations are beyond the control of travel agencies, how they handle the aftermath is crucial. Opodo completely failed in this regard. Despite numerous attempts to get a refund, I am still waiting. Three years is an unacceptable amount of time for what should be a straightforward process. 2. Terrible Customer Service Opodo's customer service is among the worst I have encountered. I called them multiple times to follow up on my refund, but the experience was infuriating. The representatives were unhelpful, evasive, and seemed unwilling to provide any clear information. I often felt like I was speaking to a wall. At one point, it became clear that they were more interested in deflecting responsibility than in resolving my issue. 3. Lack of Accountability What's most frustrating is the lack of accountability. Opodo did not keep me informed or provide updates regarding my case. I even tried reaching out through emails and social media, but all efforts were ignored or met with generic responses. 4. A Cautionary Tale for Travelers I understand that no company is perfect, but Opodo's disregard for its customers is shocking. If they cannot handle something as essential as refunding a cancelled flight, I shudder to think how they'd deal with more complex issues. Their abysmal customer service and refusal to take responsibility make them a liability for travelers. Final Verdict: Stay Away from Opodo Opodo might lure you in with attractive deals, but the risk of dealing with their incompetence and indifference is far too high. There are many other reliable online travel agencies out there that value their customers and resolve issues promptly. Based on my experience, Opodo is not one of them. P.S.: I hope the customer service staff or any AI chatbot doesn't waste their time answering my review with the usual copy-paste stuff "Dear Customer, I'm very sorry to hear about your recent experience as it certainly does not meet the quality of service we strive to deliver for our valued customers. Beware of Prime operators If you are answered by operator Sunama - put the phone down and try again until you get someone else - I phoned in today to cancel my Opodo Prime membership before the 15 day free trial period ended. I thought I had specifically explained that I wanted to cancel the subscription and cancel the direct debit. Then I received an email she had taken £44.99 out of my account. Maybe they use foreign call centres on purpose to trick people with their broken English and fast talking to trick people into something they specifically did not want. Then the next day they took another £69.99 out of my account. read more

Wow... how this company haven't hit the headlines I dont know. They cannot and I repeat CANNOT be contacted. All I wanted to do was cancel my prime membership, a process that is straight forward when you read the website instructions, however nothing is as it seams. You cannot do ANY of what they say you can do. No email address works, no chat bot works, no phone number works... I have to cancel my debit card to stop them taking money. Worst provider, never book with them, especially not a flex ticket. Their policy is made to eat your money I am a frequent traveler, with over 34 flights a year and never experienced any worse service. I booked a flex ticket which I wanted to change the dates for, one week before the flight. I found out you cannot change the date automatically with Opodo. You submit the request and then they take as much time as they like to process it. On top, their policy is made in a way they ask you to pay extra for the change although you have already paid for a flexible ticket and have already confirmed there is no fare difference between the original and the new flight. I have to point out again they also may take more than 3 days to process your date change request. Then they give you a price increase. So I ended up not being able to reschedule my flex flight ticket because their time management and extra costs. They managed it in a manner they did not process my request timely and asked me to pay extra if I wanted a change. Yet I booked a FLEX TICKET. I paid extra exactly to have the benefit to change the flight smoothly. In return, I lost the money paid for the ticket + the money paid for the flex service. The customer service and staff is also very rude and they try to find reasons to blame you. Absolutely shameful. read more

Do not use Opodo Prime their is no cooling off period after renewal, customer service is incredibly difficult and they will not resolve anything. they are an extremely aggressive sell on preventing you from leaving your membership. after 12months of their membership their prices never once beat any other sales agent. They are extremely overpriced which is combined with terrible customer service. read more

This is really the worst of travel agencies. I paid 3500 pounds for a ticket and had to make a change, because of an unforseen medical circumstance. In the app I requested the change, and was told I could make the change for 170 pounds. Very reasonable, I accepted it. Then I got an email saying actually it would be 2,000 pounds. The followed a long four days, with seven long distance calls, over and over again without being able to even accept or pay the aburd price. I would call go over what I wanted ( again and again) and I was told over and over, someone would call me back. Once someone did and they sent me a payment link. I tried three,three!!!!!! different debit and credit cards, and none would be accepted. My ¨review" "collapsed", so once again I asked for the change. This time it came back, that I would have to pay 3200 pounds. It seems to me that this is very much a scam. There was no intention of reserving until they managed to push the price to the Moon. Unreliable company. If it would possible I would give zero stars 1. No contact email - none of your complaints will have written documentation. After I insisted to have an email address I was given an intentionally wrong one ("address not found" when I tried to send). When I managed to find a correct address (not from their support, just based on a knowledge how real email address should look like) - I received a notification, that my email was blocked due to their organizational setting. 2. Nobody responds to chat - I waited just of interest for more than 2 hours - nobody! 3. The only way to catch the support - international call to UK line with waiting time of 10-15 minutes at least 4. "Member benefits" and service fees in addition: You pay 89 euros membership fee in order to get 50 euros off for your first flight (they call this "member welcome discount). Still 49 euros saving? No! My flight was rescheduled by an airline and didn't suit my needs. The airline suggested an option of a full refund and did it. Opodo charged 36 euros "service fee" without even thinking to suggest me to use 50 euros that they actually took back once the flight was cancelled. The simple calculation is: 89 euros membership minus 50 euros discount, that I didn't use, because the flight schedule was changed and I had to cancel = 39 euros. 39 minus 36 =3 euros! This is a great discount! 5. Membership discounts - yes, Opodo suggests a discounted flight from Cork to London in just 104 euros per person (Aer lingus) but it's 35 euros if you go to Ryanair website. Or maybe a discounted flight from Dublin to Berlin in 324 euros by Aer Lingus instead of 131 euros by the same airline if you search in Skyscanner? I cancelled my membership and I try to make as much as possible people to be aware of the scam, that Opodo does. read more

Impossible to cancel... there's no customer service. I signed up for a flight, but had to join their "prime" service to get the price. Trying to cancel is a nightmare. Not worth dealing with them --- find some other way to book your flight!! read more

This company needs to be reported to the authorities. They are a Scam . They have been oweing me £1.205 refund for over three years. When I call they keep saying the same thing back to back. I booked a ticket for my 11 year thinking I could contact the airline directly afterwards to add the unnacompanied minor service to the ticket. Sadly the airline couldn't help me because the booking was done though Opodo and they told me Opodo needs to contact them. I contacted Opodo 5 times and each time they keep coming back to me and saying that the airline will not accept the request. They won't tell me why or what I can do about it. Nobody in their company cares. read more

I inadvertently subscribed to Opodo Prime when booking a flight via Google flights. The flight is held for a certain amount of time so there was some rush and whilst I confess that I didn't read all the T&Cs on the website, however I have subsequently rechecked the process and there is no mention of a fee on the website, it is impossible to find an outline of costs - the email I received lacked any obvious indication that I had paid for a subscription. I thought it was just a registration service like booking.com etc where you 'earn' loyalty points. I saved £5.20 for signing up yet ended up having a £89.99 fee deducted, which I only noticed when I returned home from my trip and it was too late to cancel. The company insisted I received a welcome email but the only email I got was an invoice for the flight, showing a £5.20 saving, lots of upsell adverts and at the bottom, a note saying that the subscription to Prime was £0.00. No notifications were received ahead of the subscription deduction and no email received saying that I had subscribed to the service. Company refused to cancel when I pointed this out as the 15 day cancellation window had passed. I tried to cancel my payment for next year but they said that would result in an immediate loss of any discounts/benefits even though I have now paid for a full year. So I have to remember to call up next year and cancel. They say they will send an email reminder nearer the time, but as they didn't send one for the first payment, I wouldn't trust them. read more

Opodo left me with a 7 year old and a baby with no flights in airport for nearly 24hrs. my original booking was, Outbound - Edinburgh to Fuzhou via Shanghai & London Return - Fuzhou to Edinburgh Via Shanghai & Amsterdam The return flight was cancelled according to Opodo by the airline and I awaited a confirmed alternative. This was in the first week after I travelled. I got no such response and when I chased this several times Opodo stated they had contacted me via telephone. This was not the case. Opodo confirmed the alternative flight on the 5th August from Fuzhou to London Via Shanghai was the only one available and they were waiting on the airline (China Eastern) confirming this. I pointed out my final destination was Edinburgh but Opodo stated there was no flight to Edinburgh and only London. I asked to check for Glasgow and again none available. I then asked opodo to check for a 3-week period for any flight to Edinburgh to be told none were available? This is ridiculous in a three-week period I find it hard to believe as I checked Opodo website and there were flights available to which I pointed out to Opodo. I waited for confirmation on the proposed change and i got none except an email stating Opodo tried to contact me which again was not the case. When i contacted Opodo they stated the airline (China Eastern) came back with an alternative on the 6th August but again to London. I again stated my final destination was Edinburgh and to be told no flight was available. I also queried when I asked about alternatives to the 5th August to be told non were available and suddenly one is available on the 6th August albeit still to the wrong final destination. I then had no choice but to book flights from London to Edinburgh and pay for these. I then travelled on the 6th August via Amsterdam and Opodo had only allowed for 2 hours between flight's and I had to recheck my bagage also. this was clearly not possible as my flight was to land at 18:30 and my flight to London was at 20:30. My flight from Shanghai was delayed and therefore I missed the London flight anyway. I contacted Opodo and they stated contact the airline (China Eastern). I contacted the airline (China Eastern) and they stated contact Opodo. I might add that the airlines local offices were closed and the 24-hour line was in Shanghai and did not have international calling as i was not in my home country. I had to get someone else telephone to call them. I was then abandoned in Amsterdam overnight with a 1-year-old and a 7-year-old child. I had nowhere to sleep and no food, water etc. Opodo then stated we have sent a request to the airline and can take 72 hours! Opodo wanted me to wait 72 hours in an airport with no assistance from Opodo or the airline with two children and nowhere to sleep. Opodo could only answer sorry for any inconvenience. that is really unacceptable. I waited until the next morning and contacted Opodo again and they stated they would call me back in 1 hour. I was still waiting for that call! I had no choice but to arrange my own alternative flights from Amsterdam to London at considerable cost. Opodo should be ashamed that they abandoned a woman with a 1-year-old and a 7-year-old in Amsterdam with nowhere to sleep, Food, Water etc and to be asked to wait 72 hours for a response from the airline. The response from Opodo was I am sorry, but not much else is unsatisfactory. The responses from Opodo were un acceptable and that I had to keep contacting Opodo numerous times as they kept saying they tried to contact me were clearly false. read more

I made a flight reservation. I downloaded the Opodo app to my phone. I don't check my emails regularly. When I checked today, Opondo made me a prime account member ship and 89.99 £. I called customer service and said cancel the membership and refund my money. They said we can't do it. Customer service said make it travel credit. I asked how can you make me a prime member ship member without my permission. You received an email. When I didn't reply to the email, they made me a member as they wished since I bought a ticket with my card information. You should have checked your emails, he said. I don't check my email REGULARLY. Why did you make me a member without sending me a message? 89.99 was unnecessarily deducted on days when I needed this money. With what right do you MAKE ME A MEMBER? They make people prime members against their will so that they can earn more. They also do not cancel the membership. They say cancel next year. They scam people to earn more. I definitely do not recommend Opodo. read more

I agree with a previous comment - "I experienced the same as other customers here. You make a booking, and they automatically sign you up for thier prime membership. There is no reasonable way of contacting them, and they then simply take £59.99 out of your account." Similar comments from other people. I think the main thing to learn is..... do not do business with this company. They do not know what Customer Service is. I've had to get my cc company to block them from taking anymore money from my account. read more

A complete scam. I checked the box to become a prime member and my bill clearly stated the discount, reducing the overall price. My bill said said total price: £169 and I clicked the button to complete the transaction. The next thing i got was my invoice charging me £222. I tried contacting them insisting to speak to a supervisor but they just basically told me I wasn't a prime member, I don't get the discount and better luck next time. Still haven't spoken to a supervisor even though they promised me a call back. They responded to an email at one point claiming their prices are clearly stated but this is completely untrue. If you're smart enough to read reviews before booking with them then DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THEM. I wish I had checked before booking, I wouldn't be £50 out of pocket now. read more

And be careful, because its on an auto-renew, so unless you cancel OPODO Prime, you'll be billed again next year. Even cancelling the subscription is difficult read more

I tried to book a flight with Opodo. The booking seemed to fail; no notifications, no booking reference - NOTHING. But... I still got charged for the cost of the flight. As I had no booking number, I couldn't contact Opodo AT ALL and neither could I cancel the flight. I will NEVER use them again. read more

i booked a ticket with Opodo last year , it seemed like it automatically signed me up for their prime membership anyway it took me 15 phone calls to actually cancel the membership and they charged me £51. you can't get hold of them . most of the numbers are fake, the same person answes and gibed you different names. long story short I just got charged again for the same membership, I have all the cancellation code but it's a joke. We have booked a trip through them and never received an invoice or receipt. We have been asking for that for two weeks and nothing! they have charged our card with a fee without telling us and they keep on asking for 24 hours to send the invoice! Stay away! Do not use this company. They do not honour their promise "If you find a cheaper price within 24 hours of booking your flight with Opodo, we'll refund you the difference". I found the identical flight 56% cheaper. 20 emails later I'm just going round in circles oscillating between being told that the claim doesn't meet the 24 hour claim period (it does) and stating that the situation is beyond their control! There is no means of contacting them other than email. Just don't use. read more

Bottom line up front: Don't use them. Their customer service is non-existent. I booked a trip with Opodo (8650450772) in January 2022. I clicked pay, reasonably happy with the cost. When the money left my account it had gone up by over £70 from what I'd accepted paying. I called and the individual on the phone was powerless to do anything, didn't really listen to what I was saying and couldn't pass me onto someone who could help. After an hour of my time had been wasted, I was told that the quickest way to deal with it would be to log a complaint online (case 2582320 for anyone from Opodo who may read this). I logged the complaint and heard nothing back, but emailed a couple more times to explain that I wanted this dealt with before I went on holiday. After hearing nothing for two weeks, whilst still on holiday, I got in touch again and spoke to someone online. Again, he was completely useless, despite starting the conversation with "I'll do whatever needs to be done to help". He informed me that it takes 21 days to respond to a complaint. Why I wasn't told this on the phone, after my complaint was logged or in response to my numerous emails, I don't know. So, here we are... 21 days later. I'm unsure how it is so difficult to speak to someone who actually knows what they're talking about. When you purchase "Prime" you are meant to have the best customer service possible; I cannot imagine what it'd be like for anyone who hadn't purchased Prime. In summary, the £70 wasn't a great issue. But, the fact that I have wasted so much time, thought about this throughout my holiday, been lied to and still haven't got a response is an issue. I would never use them again as they do not value their customers and are, quite frankly, useless. read more

Never use Opodo. They are expensive and unreliable.On 20 Feb I wrote a review about Opodo. On 7 February my son booked a return flight from Stansted to Hamburg with Ryanair via the travel company Opodo. After realising that he had been charged £126.54 twice for the flight and after much hassle (going round in circles with their chatbot on their site and hanging on the phone waiting for ages) he finally spoke to someone in a call centre who said he would be refunded. £126.54, the price of one flight, was credited to his bank account. However 2 days before the flight when he tried to check-in online through the Opodo app the message came up that 'You do not have a booking'. Knowing from experience that communication with Opodo was very difficult he booked the flight direct with Ryanair for the same dates.Complaining to the chatbot on their app is a waste of time so my son posted a negative review on Trustpilot. The following day he received notification from Opodo that his flight was booked. He flew out to Hamburg on the flight he booked direct with Ryanair.I received a bland reply that they appear to send whenever anybody complains. In spite of me twice updating the review I still have not heard anything more from them. My son wasted nearly £130 booking through Opodo after they double charged him and then cancelled his booking when he complained. One lesson from this is maybe use Opodo to find the flight for you but then book direct with the airline. Safer, cheaper and more reliable.26 FEBRUARY I have received thel same bland 'concerned' reply to this review from Opodo as I received to my last review. It is the same reply that they give to every complaint. That is all they do. After that they do nothing, just keep on scamming. Unfortunately when you use Google to search for a flight without putting in a definite airlinem because Opodo pay Google, they are the first website that comes up. Their website mentions all the British travel awards that Opodo has received but they are a fantasy and misleading lies. Accordingly I have contacted the Guardian/Observer consumer problem column and suggested that Opodo be investigated and that the Guardian publicise the fact that Opodo are a company that should be avoided at all cost, They should not be allowed to trade,UPDATED 01 MARCHIn spite of Opdo's 'concerned' reply we have heard nothing more from them. I have received the same reply twice and when you read other consumer's complaints it is the standard reply they give. However a standard reply is all you will get from them, then they will ignore you.It is almost criminal that Opodo pays Google so that if you do a general flight search the Opodo site is at the top of the list. Many people have been scammed by this. They appear legitimate because they give a list of fake British travel awards that they have supposedly received.NEVER BOOK THROUGH OPODO AS YOU WILL BE WASTING YOUR TIME AND MONEY. **Extremely Disappointed - Misleading and Untrustworthy Service** **Booking Reference: 21227289668** My experience with Opodo has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I booked flights through their platform, and my booking confirmation clearly showed that I was entitled to **1 personal item and 1 cabin bag** per passenger. The same information was clearly visible in the Opodo app -- easy to understand and reassuring when planning our trip. However, when we arrived at the airport, we were told we were only allowed **1 personal item**, and that **cabin bags were not included**. This was a complete shock, especially since I had contacted Opodo customer service after booking to confirm the baggage allowance, and they **explicitly confirmed via email** that both a personal item and a cabin bag were included. Despite this, we were forced to pay £70 per passenger to check in the cabin bags as **23kg checked baggage**, even though we only intended to bring standard cabin-sized bags. There were **three of us travelling**, so the unexpected extra cost was significant -- a total of **£210** added at the airport. I provided Opodo with a **receipt for the extra baggage payment**, along with a **screenshot of the transaction from my bank statement**, to prove the charges and request proper support or a refund. Unfortunately, my case was handed from one agent to another, with each giving a different excuse or explanation. No one took proper responsibility, and they clearly tried to delay and deflect the issue instead of resolving it. This experience has shown me that Opodo's service is unreliable, misleading, and completely lacking in accountability. They **mis-sold** the ticket by providing incorrect baggage information and then refused to make it right, despite clear evidence. What may seem like a small saving when booking with Opodo can quickly turn into a **costly and stressful experience**. I will **never use Opodo again**, and I strongly warn others to avoid them. I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received from Opodo regarding my recent flight booking from Seville to London, with a stopover in Paris. To provide some context, I booked two tickets through Opodo for this journey, and the first flight from Seville to Paris was uneventful. However, I encountered a problem with the second leg of the journey from Paris to London, where I was asked to pay an additional 120 euros for my bags. This was unexpected and unjustified as I had already paid for the bags when I made the initial booking with Opodo. After this unpleasant experience, I contacted Opodo several times through their website, requesting a refund for the additional charges incurred. However, the responses I received were far from satisfactory. In one instance, I was refunded only 10 euros with no explanation as to why the full amount was not refunded. Additionally, the responses I received were either generic apologies for the "misunderstanding" or a promise to "complain to another place", which did not address the core issue at hand. I am appalled by the level of customer service I have received from Opodo. The lack of communication and transparency has been extremely frustrating, and it is unacceptable for a company of such standing to treat its customers in this manner. I have sent numerous messages to their website, but there has been no response until I posted a complaint on external platforms. worst bad experience with them. ive book my flight with them and the website crash telling that the bank rejected my payment and few seconds later i receive a text message that the money was debited in my bank account. i startled and shock because i didnt receive any booking confirmation but my money was gone. i contacted their office phone number and spoke to the customer service telling that this things happen, the lady named manisha informed and confirmed to me that their is a transaction but it was cancceld and regarding my money they will debit it back into my bank account within 24 hours since booking was not successful and to my surprise upto to this date i dont receive any money in my bank account, sending email to them and i only get an auto reply message for god sake return back the peoples money. hi ms rochelle, thank you for contacting opodo and apologize for the delay in our response, with regards to your booking reference :11924144949. we are sorry to hear that you had an unsatisfactory experience with us and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. we have received your message and we want to inform you that the charge never happened, but was only an authorization request. and since the booking was not successful, the sum was released again ,to be more sure, you can contact your bank as from our end everything has been done already. opodo prides itself on providing excellent customer service and we regret that you feel that we have disappointed you on this matter. sincerely, ekhlas.a your opodo customer care team read more

I genuinely cannot express what an awful company this is. My flight was cancelled and their website did not give me an option to reschedule it, and so I attempted to contact them through the only phone number available on their website. Not only did I wait on hold for half an hour without any service but I also was charged 81 dollars for the call. I finally figured out that I needed to call the parent company, eDreams, to actually get some customer service. Since I had already wasted my time and money on booking with this company, I figured I might as well take advantage of the 40% discounts on hotels that they wouldn't stop emailing me about. So, I did so. I went onto their website, where the price was advertised for my stay as 574 Euro (including tax). I went to checkout and, again, 574 Euro. I pay for the ticket and my receipt says 625 Euro. What? Even as I type this, the 574 Euro price for that same hotel is still being advertised. I called to ask about it and was told that I would not get the discount because I did not book the flight at the same time that I booked the hotel DESPITE the fact that I was shown 574 the entire checkout process. In most cases, I like to give the benefit of the doubt to companies. However, this was clearly malicious. The way I was talked down to by the customer service representative gave an impression that they were pretty experienced in shutting down the customers. They knew what they were doing. Much better off paying a little extra for a more reputable airline, at least you'll get what you've paid for. read more

I thought they were very efficient in getting me my booking - and I purchased an extra option allowing for flight changes as I wasn't sure of the date I needed to fly. The next day I knew I could fly a day earlier and went to change the flight. First problem was that the system didn't recognize my email for login (although they had sent me confirmation emails to that address) eventually I got through to an online help centre and they were going to try and change my booking for me. No fare for that new day they said, in spite of the fact that it had been available on their website before my issue with login AND it was still there when I got online again albeit £10 more expensive. I tried to change it under manage my booking but there is no option for change flight only cancellation. My advice is book directly with the airline and do not waste your money on buying the extra possibility of changing flights as it does not seem to work with OPODO. I wasted an hour of my time today trying to get online and change the flight with no result. I won't use OPODO again. read more

Be very careful of scam emails stating that you can get compensation for cancelled flights. The email has cancelled flight information and tries to get you to click on a compensation button. DON'T DO IT! The button has a link to an app called MANDRILL. It will ask for a password in order to scam you for trying to recover money that you never paid in the first place. Typically it will say you are owed 600 euros by Opodo, which is false. You have been warned. read more

Worst customer services they offer and no refunds are offered despite cancelling there prime membership. This is the reason why there share prices are going down.
