I experienced the same as other customers here. You make a booking, and they automatically sign you up for thier prime membership. There is no reasonable way of contacting them, and they then simply take £59.99 out of your account. Avoid them like the plague!!! read more

Do not deal with these cowboys. I booked a car for Nice airport for 11.00 am but they didn't tell me (and neither was it written in the confirmation email) that there was a 6 hour limit on collection. So when I got there Gold Car advised me of this and I had to pay for another car at £500 Euros. I have tried in vain to contact this Company by phone and chat but they send you around in circles. I am going to follow this through with ATOL. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY read more

DO NOT USE AVOID AT ALL COSTS! THey booked my elderly mother and aunt into a hotel for 2 weeks that was in fact closed for that period, and on more than 1 night they were the only persons in the hotel. When you try to contact them to raise a complaint there is no address / response etc. So registered mail is the only way. And then they ignore you. I am persuing via the courts. Their ATOL licence should be revoked as they are not a reputable or safe operator. read more

Untrustworthy, unprofessional, scam Opodo To help others, it is important to read about Opodo travel agent before you think buying a ticket through them. During Covid19 crisis, my flight was cancelled and the Gulf Airlines sent my refund £1,827.09 on Nov 2020 to the travel agent Opodo in London which I bought the tickets through. Opodo kept my refund and did not send it to my bank account, Opodo now does not contact with customers, but deals with any issue through the Robot machine or through answer phone machine, they do not have human staff to deal with any issue because there are many victims who contact them daily to get their refund. After the Robot machine takes my booking reference, the answer comes as following: Your refund was processed successfully, and it will be in your bank account in 3-7 days. I was hearing this message since Nov 2020. My advice to customers is to buy their tickets from reputable company, please do not be tempted to buy a cheap ticket from Opodo and end losing your money as many many of customers did with Opodo. My flight was supposed to be in 05/08/2020. I challenge Opodo to contact me to tell me that I am exaggerating. One star is too much for the untrustworthy Opodo travel agent read more

I booked a ticket through them and they automatically signed me up for prime and I have no idea about it until I got charged about 60 pounds for something I have no idea about. And their customer service is terrible. I will advise to never use their application or do not use your card with them. read more

My both flights have been cancelled. Opodo hasn't sent me a word about it, only the airlines. I was trying to get a refund via companies, but they told me to contact my agency (Opodo). I have been trying to contact Opodo for two weeks, I can get any robot's attention that doesn't get what I want, sent 6 emails to "human" agents. No response, no refund. read more

Horrific company, dont touch with a barge pole. I have 4k pending transaction to them for flights i booked and never received a confirmation email!!!! It's impossible to talk to anyone without a reference number that i never recieved. read more

Unfortunatel I booked 2 tickets using the Opodo travel website. Absolutely No confirmation of my booking was sent to me. NO Email at all was ever received to confirm My Booking. NOR any details of the tickets I booked were sent to my email. NOTHING. So I though now we have no tickets and that nothing was actually booked as we had no confirmation of the upcoming flight. ( So I booked NEW tickets from a much more reliable website) BUT Then 6 days after my previous attempted booking on the Opodo website. To my utter Horror. £436 was suddenly taken from my credit card by OPODO. THIS MONEY WAS STOLEN BY OPODO I NEVER EVER RECEIVED ANY EMAIL CONFIRMING ANY BOOKING OF TICKETS? Whats even more upsetting THERE IS NO WAY AT ALL FOR me to get in touch to query why this money was taken from my credit card BECAUSE I DO NOT HAVE ANY BOOKING CONFIRMATION EMAIL. I have tried calling but noone answer without booking ID referance number confirmation email. which I never ever received. I tried ' live chat' but without any airline number which I never received its impossible to get though to anyone why so much money was stolen from my account, HELP? I can't find any contact number with anyone 'live' to speak to because I have no booking confirmation. So my call cannot get put through to anyone. The automated call just says good bye and hangs up. THIS IS STOLEN MONEY. I wish I had read all the awful reviews about this company before I attempted to book on this airline. I have tried to email them on customerservice-en@contact.opodo.com. There email help website. No reply has ever been received. what a horrible scam! I plan to spread the word on Facebook, twitter, email, to warn as any people as possible to never ever book with them. ### DON'T BUY TICKETS FROM OPODO ### I swear I'm writing this after 5 contacts and hours spent on the phone with them, so it's not a 'rage' review. Lufthansa canceled a connection of my flight, which makes my ticket fully refundable, but because Opodo is the middle-man, they are not giving me the refund! They keep saying I'll get feedback within 72H, almost 2 weeks are passed. Poor customer service, they simply don't care. read more

Opodo have terrible customer service, and make it nigh on impossible to contact them about any query/issue. If you have a refund outstanding they will ignore it and hope you give up. -I paid over £1300 for flights + hotel but when I received the confirmation it said the flights were cancelled. -Opodo's web chat is awful and you have to wait for ages before being connected to someone. Their advisor told me my whole booking was cancelled, flight + hotel and that they would give me a full refund of £1300 within 10 working days. -I received a random refund of around £400 about 2 weeks after -Queried this with Opodo who told me 'we've refunded your flights only. your hotel was non-cancellable'. When I said their advisor had told me it was cancelled they told me that what I was saying was not true! -Spoke to another person on web chat and got an email address from them, so sent an export of the facebook messenger webchat to theme -Opodo read it and confirmed it was an advisor error and they would refund me the balance for the hotel within 10 working days -Refund never came so I chased a few times (4 more emails) -Another random refund of around £300 hit my bank, not the £900 outstanding. -Queried with Opodo who insisted I'd received my £900 back. What they had done is taken my hotel refund and for some reason deducted my flight refund from it!! incompetent -More emails to Opodo this time unanswered, so I took to their Facebook page..again no response - Emailed them again to 2 separate email addressed threatening court action. Put a review on tripadvisor and trust pilot and got a response saying that it would take longer to investigate as the hotel was non-refundable, but there was an advisor error - Emailed again saying 'this shouldnt take any longer. I paid £1300 and should receive £1300 back. Opodo have already said they would repay it but aren't doing so'. -Finally yesterday I received the balance of my refund - no email to say sorry! no explanation! If I was an elderly person or not so clued up with IT, I'd have given up and they'd have got my money for nothing. They are a bunch of con-artists and act unethically. They have poor customer service and I have no idea how anyone can work there with any sense of pride about who they work for. I bet its a terrible place to work with this sort of service and culture. Booked a flight with this "agent". About 4 hours later received an email that the price had increased and I needed to call if I wanted to go ahead with the booking. The phone number provided was incorrect and I searched through the site for contact info to no avail. I tried dialling the number by dropping the "2" (for Australia) so the number actually is: 9199 5336. I was told that in order to confirm the booking I needed to pay an additional $13 AUD as flight prices had increased during processing which can take 24 hours. It would then take another 24 hours after making the additional payment to confirm the booking, during which time the price could increase further! After waiting a further 24 hours and checking my booking status online, it still indicated that the booking was being processed and not confirmed. In the meantime, I was receiving emails from Opodo suggesting that I could check in now and asking if I needed to add an extra bag for my flight so it seemed that all was confirmed but I was not sure. I called Opodo again (overseas customer service with poor English communication) and was told that my flight had not been confirmed as I had cancelled it and requested a refund. I confirmed that I absolutely had done no such thing and needed confirmation of my booking asap. I was placed on hold for ages and was then told that the airline was fully booked! While on the phone I looked at flights on Skyscanner and could see they were still available. I told this to the agent, not that I wanted to proceed anyway given the ridiculousness of it all, but she was uninterested and told me that the flight was fully booked, end of story, and she would initiate a refund. I immediately successfully booked the flights with Expedia (although in the meantime the price had increased by $100 due to having to wait 48 hours). The most unprofessional, dodgy and untrustworthy travel service I have ever used. Its really not worth the savings of about $40 or so to go with them as I've spent hours of my time resolving this. Still waiting on the refund, which I am told will take 10 days.STAY AWAY! Go with a trusted agent with better ratings. read more

AVOID they are scam - FRAUD I booked a flight with Opodo, they charge me more then showed in their website, had to change the dates, and they charged more, unfortunately I have to cancel my trip for personal reasons, and I asked them for the refund, they said they will refund me 80%, in 10 days, but they didn't I contact them lots of times, they tell different stories, each time I called I waited at least 40 minutes, their customer service is overseas, and they don't care, they don't have an email, or UK customer service, Honestly Opodo is the worst on earth, Avoid them, simply check their feedback here or search online, they are NIGHTMARE, I wish I have NEVER dealt with them. read more

On the 23/04/2022 I purchased a flight ticket for myself and my two other adult sisters via Opodo, on the 29th May I made my way from Halifax to Luton so that me and my sisters can all go to Standsted London airport to catch our flight the following day 30/05/22 at 2:35pm. At 10am when I checked my flight status with Opodo with the view to check check in status and see our boarding passes, I realised that the status was :" we are dealing with your cancellation" . I immediately rang opodo to clarify the issue as I did not request for any cancellation. Between 10am and 13 pm, I rang 3 times to try and speak to a senior manager as they kept telling me that I had requested cancellation on the 29th and when asked to produce how I did it they said I did it online. Once at the check in point with Pegasus airline ref KD5VAB we were told that our names did not even figured on their list, no tickets was even purchased at all to them by Opodo. When contacted, Opodo have not been able to give us an explanation. I have been asking for a refund as I think it is a fraudulent activity and not even a mistake but they are refusing. I have spend more money, time, energy and we are all psychological affected. I now have strong headache by the result of trying to resolve and reason with the agents working for Opodo who I described very incompetent, as "thieves and a gang of fraudsters" robing us from our hard earned money. I left my 5 children at home and a husband for a holiday I thought was going to give me some relief and a lovely time. I now need to consult a doctor and might not be able to resume work on Monday the 06th June. read more

Booked a Flight and Hotel with Opodu but made a mistake and booked the wrong week. To my horror i quickly rang them straight after booking it only to be told that the Hotel is non refundable even though the website says free 24hour cancelations! and The Flights could not be altered only cancelled which they were only willing to give a partial refund. If id used someone else im sure all this could of all been sorted but Opodo just wanted to take all my money and not help Dont use 3rd party book direct with Airline and Hotels read more

Terrible, terrible service. Never use Opodo! I booked flights with them to the USA. I requested flights to RDU. They said there were none (there are), so I booked to CLT instead - a 2 hour drive away. When I discovered there were flights to RDU, and asked to change my flights the same day I booked the original flights, they said I would lose all my money. I asked for a phone number or email address to submit a complaint and they gave me some no-reply type email address that just generated an auto reply. I paid an extra £400 for a flexible return date. When I tried to change my return, they said there were literally NO FLIGHTS. There were, of course, but I had to book directly through United, and paid an extra £600 as United had no record of the flexible fare. Two days ago I got an email from Opodo saying that my return flights have been cancelled. I am currently on hold trying to figure out what this means. I have twice been cut off by the call centre in India, having waited for 40 minutes. The online chat facility on their website requires you to have a Facebook account, which I don't have. I have wasted an enormous amount of time and money and never experienced such terrible customer service in my entire life. AVOID!! read more

I've provided all the documentation, they've been reimbursed by British Airways, and now they say I have to phone them to get my money. I call, end up on the phone with some arse in India, who then puts me on hold until I hang up. They don't plan on providing service. Crooks is what they are. read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. This company uses predatory bait-and-switch tactics and fails to respect the privacy of its customers' credit card details. I recently booked a flight through Opodo, paying with my usual credit card. A few days later I got an e-mail from them saying that for "security" purposes I needed to send them a scan of my credit card (by fax or e-mail) or else they would cancel my booking in 24 hours. Like most people, I don't own a fax machine, and since they sent me this e-mail on the weekend I couldn't use the one at my workplace. And I certainly wasn't about to send them my credit card details via e-mail, which anyone ought to know is insecure. I wrote back to Opodo explaining the problem; they offered no secure alternative for confirming the credit card, so they cancelled the flight. When I got my credit card statement, I saw that they had applied a hefty cancellation fee. I complained to them about this and demanded that they reverse the charges. They admitted that the fee was bogus but incredibly claimed that they were unable to reverse the charge! I had to go through the rigmarole of filing a dispute with my credit card issuer in order to get my money back. I'm convinced that Opodo does all this on purpose as a bait and switch tactic. They entice customers with low prices on flights, but if the prices go up they try to back out of the sale by making sham credit card "verification" demands. Most people will miss Opodo's incredibly tight response deadlines, or will very sensibly refuse to use the insecure verification procedures. Opodo then cancels the flight, awards itself a sizeable cancellation fee, and resells the seat to someone else at the new higher price. read more

I booked a flight with Opodo to India (travelling with Emirates) and travelled on the 26/08/2019. Booking everything went fine until I got to the airport and it transpired that Opodo had provided incorrect information about luggage weights for Emirates. I was 3kg over the allocated weight for cabin luggage and so they charged me an extortionate fee. Emirates asked me to provide evidence that I had been informed of the wrong details. When I did they then promptly ignored it and said I needed to take it up with the agent Opodo. I did via Opodo's complaint system and more than a month later have yet to be contacted in any way by Opodo. This is extremely bad customer service by Opodo, both before and after travel. I won't be booking through them again and advise others to avoid them as well. -- update -- The day I wrote this review on Trustpilot Opodo suddenly contacted me. Denied all knowledge of my complaint that had been made via the system they direct you too. Asked me to furnish all the details again, along with evidence on their site of the false information that I had been provided with. I compiled by pointing out two webpages on their site that had false information and then (same story as Emirates) they ignored the evidence and told me that I had looked at the wrong webpage on their site - apparently one correct webpage cancels out two webpages with completely incorrect information. read more

NEVER USE - AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE Please stay away from booking with Opodo & book direct. I would never have used them but having always used Sky Scanner was taken through to Opodo. Turned up to airport with confirmed seats etc from the Opodo app only to be told by airline that booking had been cancelled 8 months prior. I had no information regarding this or information that booking had been cancelled. Lost approx £950 (2 of us) and a night with friend that flew in from Australia who subsequently spent the night in Lisbon solo. Zero response, communication or acknowledgment from Opodo despite being on hold for over an hour on the morning of our flight explaining our situation. Were also told that they would check us in & contact the airline. Please, do not use & save yourself the hassle & disappointment. Never again. x 1 detailed & clear e mail (including documents of seat numbers / boarding passes / check in advice) x 1 signed for letter (including documents of seat numbers / boarding passes / check in advice) 1 templated, unapolegetic & medicocre response from Opodo. x 1 follow up to this (CS advisor Morena) & still zero response. 4 weeks after we arrived & airport and couldn't fly. 2 weeks and still no resolution. Save yourselves the hassle, stress & loss of money. read more

Let us be honest we all love cheap flights and Opodo offer cheap flights. If the booking is uncomplicated they are a good site to use. If you have to cancel flights, yes you will get an Indian call centre and yes you will have to chase refunds but hey you got lots of cheap flights what are you expecting? I use 6-7 times a year and every now and then have to try and resolve an issue and in the end it gets resolved. I am certainly going to continue to use. read more

Don't expect a refund, required by EC regulation 261/2004, if your flight is cancelled and another to the same destination within 24 hours is not offered. Do not expect hotel accommodations, required by the same regulation, if you are stranded overnight as a result. Expect instead refusal, denial of responsibility, rudeness; expect referral to the airline (in this case Iberia, operated by Vueling), which will refer you back to Opodo. Expect fruitless hours on the telephone from wherever you are to London, at your expense. This company flouts the law. read more

booked a flight from Dubai do London on the 02-01-21, turned up to the airport, check in say's no ticket booked. then had to pay for the same flight direct with the airline. only to get home to find Opodo had taken the money. made a phone call to customer care, with an apology and saying they will refund the full price of the ticket. Almost a year later and I've only received £80 that's £600 less then the ticket price, after more then 10 phone calls over the year with them staying money will be in the account in 10 working days still nothing..... This company is totally and utterly POINTLESS ! I woke up this morning to news that my BA flight to Turkey in 18 days had been cancelled and so along with all the other passengers on the cancelled flight looked for a replacement. One of the search engines threw up Opodo flight with Thompson Airways ( which doesn't even exist as it has changed its name to Tui) and so in my panic to get a flight before they all sold out, I booked 3 tickets. I received confirmation that the money had been taken but no e mail confirmation of booking . The web site said the booking was being processed . I waited an hour to the same info. I phoned and waited 20 minutes to speak to someone incomprehensible who, finally made it clear that you have to wait 5-6 hours for an e mail confirmation !!! Like WHAT !! In the meantime the flight had completely sold out. I asked whether we might get an e mail saying they had failed to book the flight- and she said yes !! I asked to speak to a manager so I could ask what on earth was the point in booking thro' a company that cannot confirm a flight but no one was available . I asked to cancel the flight as flights were available on Easy Jet and so she has apparently done that saying we would be refunded in 2-3 days !! I have had no e mail confirmation of this either so they better as I have no evidence even of our phone call . This is a total and utter SCAM read more

Not transparent payment process with Opodo: I made a booking with opodo. I have not "opodo prime membership", so I did not introduce any information regarding my membership like log in with a password or introducing a membership number. Even though I did not set any information regarding membership, so, (what they call normal fare applies), the final price did not show the final ticket price without the prime membership discount, taking into account the fact that I am NOT a prime member. The "Gesamtpreis" in German or "Amount to pay" did not clarify to me with a warning that even though I did not introduce Prime membership information the shown amount was still the prime fare (NONSENSE). My credit was charged around 50 euros more of what I clicked. This is definitely not a transparent company practice. As in ANY payment platform, the final amount has to be what you finally pay. They should update their payment platform properly to show the correct amounts since it is extremely confusing for customers. It can not be as it happened to me, that you click to pay one amount and it charges your credit card another. It is a really questionable practice not to be transparent in the payment process with the customers. I contacted their customer support (first through a chat in which you get reply from a chat robot on Facebook and later on with a person through their Call Cente, the phone number was given to me by the chat robot!, incredible that on their website they don't include as contact information an email address, the contact phone numbers for each country are not listed either). The person I talked to, gave me (finally) a contact email address. I wrote an email with a formal complaint (including print screen prove of what I agreed to pay) and received no reply. Summing up, definitely not a nice experience with Opodo! Sorry for the long review, just wanted to tell my experience so that other people are more careful when you book with them! read more

Just off the phone for the third time ( 41 Minutes) trying to sort out two seat bookings made, confirmed and paid for but OPODO did not communicate this to the airline. Opodo want me to book them direct now and claim back the costs....the airline won't accept this saying that Opodo have to amend the original booking....get the drift? Round and round and round....lodged formal complaint after second attempt....no response. Will I use Opodo again .....I'll give you one guess! read more

We had a horrible experience. Due to an urgent situation, we needed to book a flight last minute at 5am, we used Kayak to look for flights and found one on United, but in the UK for some reason "Kayak" directs you to "Opodo" and does not let you buy through United directly. We went ahead with it anyway, since Kayak is a trusted website of ours and we figured we could trust their partner site. Big mistake. After staying up all night, we book our flight at 5am (due to the urgent situation we stayed up all night), we get a confirmation that our booking has been booked successfully and a few minutes later our phone app for amex alerts asks for our approval for the charge and we confirm we made the charge. Then we finally went to sleep around 6am and woke up at 11am for a 2pm flight. At 11am, we see an e-mail message from Opodo with the time stamp 8:30 am with this short message: Your Opodo booking reference ###### For security reasons to protect both you and Opodo from fradulent transactions on your credit card, we carry out random checks on bookings made through the Opodo website. Your booking has been selected and these checks have been made on your reservation. We regret to inform you that your booking has not passed our security checks and therefore, we have no option but to cancel your reservation. Regards, The Opodo Team www.opodo.co.uk Tel: +44 (0) 333 300 02 91 - After Sales enquiries Fax: +44 (0) 333 300 02 92 Opening hours: Monday - Friday: 9am to 6pm Saturday - Sunday: 9am to 2pm Bank holidays: 9am to 2pm If you need to contact this Opodo department whilst abroad, please call +44 (0) 333 300 02 91 (international call rate applies). So then I called them in a panic to figure out what went wrong. They explained that all flights booked within 24 hours of air travel are flagged for security reasons and that they had called Amex and "Amex told us to cancel the charge, that is looked suspicious because something did not match"...we pressed them for details and they would not give us any more details "for security reasons"...we asked them if they could do anything and they just kept repeating themselves placing the blame on Amex. We asked why they had not called one of the two cell numbers we provided (no answer). So then we called Amex to learn the details - basically a charge was put into Amex from Opodo and then Amex blocked the charge for being possibly fraudulent until they could confirm with us, which we did within 10 minutes of the initial purchase time via our phone app. According to the Amex representative, standard procedure for companies at this point is to resubmit the charge, which Opodo did not do and instead cancelled our confirmed booking. Amex said that its possible the reason this charge was flagged as possibly fraudulent is because the merchant (Opodo) has a history of fraudulent charges. Another thing Amex mentioned, which is a shady business practice is sending a confirmation before the charge has actually been cleared, which Opodo clearly did. But the point is this has created a lot of last-minute stress and hair pulling as we try desperately to get a seat on our flight today - mostly due to booking via Opodo. In hindsight, we should have searched for flights on Kayak and then manually researched for the same flight on United. Amex has been very helpful in getting our flights sorted out and we're hoping to recover some of the cost through the travel insurance...we'll see how that goes. read more

WATCH OUT: BAIT AND SWITCH! Booked an airline ticket with them online in Germany - was suddenly charged a higher rate than offered, supposedly because I added luggage to the flight.... When the airline confirmation document came, guess what, there was ZERO luggage included! Cancelled the booking immediately per email (you have 24 hrs to do this) and called them the next morning, so 12 hrs after booking, because their offices were closed. They started telling me there was a charge to cancel, even though it was their error! The next 'line' was that they could add luggage at no charge (that'll be the day!) and after I insisted they cancel my booking, they made me hold for a half hour to cancel the booking... Of course, on a toll call. The cancellation document never came, forcing me to call both the airline overseas and call Opodo again - because in spite of all of this they charged my AMEX the full amount for the fare! Big mistake, because my AMEX is very customer friendly!!! Easiest is to stay away. There are decidedly more hassle free ways to book! read more

Wish I had read reviews before hand as I would never of booked with Opodo. I booked flights online which at no point during the procedure did it state that they were non refundable. Due to their poor booking procedure I was never not given opportunity to book wheelchair assistance that my husband requires. I straight away used their online chat/help which is an automated robot Kris ! I waited over an hour to be connected to an actual human which never happen so I gave up and tried to call on phone their customer service department. I waited 20 minutes when finally a human spoke and said his system had just gone down and would pass me over directly to his colleague - this was a lie! put back on hold. I waited another 20 minutes before I hung up and rang again this time to use option1 to cancel my booking. This was yesterday 17/6/19. Today I received an email from socialcare asking if I still wanted to book wheelchair! I explained that I had cancelled flights and rebooked directly with airline. The reply was "flights are still active as you didn't cancel and they are non refundable" I have sent several emails to them today which they are completely ignoring! I cancelled using their system within 2 1/2 hours of booking and fill strongly that I am due a full refund as they should have made it clear if flights were non refundable. Could not be more pissed off with this company. My flight was canceled by the airline which I figured I'd be fine considering I paid opodo extra to get the insurance. Clearly I was very wrong. I first contacted their customer service and spoke to one of the rudest women I've ever encountered. She wouldn't let me speak! Every time I'd begin my sentence she'd interrupt me to say the same sentence over and over again "this flight is non refundable". In which case why would they let me buy insurance? I had to hang up on her because I lost my patience and called again the next day. The man I spoke was more civil and gave me the number for the company their insurance is with. The insurance company said since the cancelation was on the airlines end and not mine, opodo should automatically refund me without the filing of a claim. So, I called opodo again and they told me to go to the airline for the refund. Of course, the airline told me that I have to contact my booking agent for the refund, so that's back to opodo who now just leaves me sitting on hold for hours and hours and then just hangs up. Useless call centre opening times meant I ended up as a no show as couldnt contact them to modify flights, so lost all the cash on flights - All because of their call centre times. If I had booked directly with the airline I could have changed the flights, this morning last minute attempt to contact them on the phone, the message on the phone said their call centre opened at 9am, why so late? read more

WILL RIP YOU OFF!! Do not book through Opodo they will take your money and run! Tried to book three seats on a Thomas Cook flight, paid for in full through Opodo. They only booked two seats. I have contacted them soooo many times asking them to correct their error. They have point blank refused and have effectively stolen money from me. I am now left with no option but to pay extra for a seat that I have already paid for, which has also gone up in price. Avoid like the plague! read more

Never use Opodo. They are expensive and unreliable.On 20 Feb I wrote a review about Opodo. On 7 February my son booked a return flight from Stansted to Hamburg with Ryanair via the travel company Opodo. After realising that he had been charged £126.54 twice for the flight and after much hassle (going round in circles with their chatbot on their site and hanging on the phone waiting for ages) he finally spoke to someone in a call centre who said he would be refunded. £126.54, the price of one flight, was credited to his bank account. However 2 days before the flight when he tried to check-in online through the Opodo app the message came up that 'You do not have a booking'. Knowing from experience that communication with Opodo was very difficult he booked the flight direct with Ryanair for the same dates.Complaining to the chatbot on their app is a waste of time so my son posted a negative review on Trustpilot. The following day he received notification from Opodo that his flight was booked. He flew out to Hamburg on the flight he booked direct with Ryanair.I received a bland reply that they appear to send whenever anybody complains. In spite of me twice updating the review I still have not heard anything more from them. My son wasted nearly £130 booking through Opodo after they double charged him and then cancelled his booking when he complained. One lesson from this is maybe use Opodo to find the flight for you but then book direct with the airline. Safer, cheaper and more reliable.26 FEBRUARY I have received thel same bland 'concerned' reply to this review from Opodo as I received to my last review. It is the same reply that they give to every complaint. That is all they do. After that they do nothing, just keep on scamming. Unfortunately when you use Google to search for a flight without putting in a definite airlinem because Opodo pay Google, they are the first website that comes up. Their website mentions all the British travel awards that Opodo has received but they are a fantasy and misleading lies. Accordingly I have contacted the Guardian/Observer consumer problem column and suggested that Opodo be investigated and that the Guardian publicise the fact that Opodo are a company that should be avoided at all cost, They should not be allowed to trade,UPDATED 01 MARCHIn spite of Opdo's 'concerned' reply we have heard nothing more from them. I have received the same reply twice and when you read other consumer's complaints it is the standard reply they give. However a standard reply is all you will get from them, then they will ignore you.It is almost criminal that Opodo pays Google so that if you do a general flight search the Opodo site is at the top of the list. Many people have been scammed by this. They appear legitimate because they give a list of fake British travel awards that they have supposedly received.NEVER BOOK THROUGH OPODO AS YOU WILL BE WASTING YOUR TIME AND MONEY. **Extremely Disappointed - Misleading and Untrustworthy Service** **Booking Reference: 21227289668** My experience with Opodo has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I booked flights through their platform, and my booking confirmation clearly showed that I was entitled to **1 personal item and 1 cabin bag** per passenger. The same information was clearly visible in the Opodo app -- easy to understand and reassuring when planning our trip. However, when we arrived at the airport, we were told we were only allowed **1 personal item**, and that **cabin bags were not included**. This was a complete shock, especially since I had contacted Opodo customer service after booking to confirm the baggage allowance, and they **explicitly confirmed via email** that both a personal item and a cabin bag were included. Despite this, we were forced to pay £70 per passenger to check in the cabin bags as **23kg checked baggage**, even though we only intended to bring standard cabin-sized bags. There were **three of us travelling**, so the unexpected extra cost was significant -- a total of **£210** added at the airport. I provided Opodo with a **receipt for the extra baggage payment**, along with a **screenshot of the transaction from my bank statement**, to prove the charges and request proper support or a refund. Unfortunately, my case was handed from one agent to another, with each giving a different excuse or explanation. No one took proper responsibility, and they clearly tried to delay and deflect the issue instead of resolving it. This experience has shown me that Opodo's service is unreliable, misleading, and completely lacking in accountability. They **mis-sold** the ticket by providing incorrect baggage information and then refused to make it right, despite clear evidence. What may seem like a small saving when booking with Opodo can quickly turn into a **costly and stressful experience**. I will **never use Opodo again**, and I strongly warn others to avoid them. I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received from Opodo regarding my recent flight booking from Seville to London, with a stopover in Paris. To provide some context, I booked two tickets through Opodo for this journey, and the first flight from Seville to Paris was uneventful. However, I encountered a problem with the second leg of the journey from Paris to London, where I was asked to pay an additional 120 euros for my bags. This was unexpected and unjustified as I had already paid for the bags when I made the initial booking with Opodo. After this unpleasant experience, I contacted Opodo several times through their website, requesting a refund for the additional charges incurred. However, the responses I received were far from satisfactory. In one instance, I was refunded only 10 euros with no explanation as to why the full amount was not refunded. Additionally, the responses I received were either generic apologies for the "misunderstanding" or a promise to "complain to another place", which did not address the core issue at hand. I am appalled by the level of customer service I have received from Opodo. The lack of communication and transparency has been extremely frustrating, and it is unacceptable for a company of such standing to treat its customers in this manner. I have sent numerous messages to their website, but there has been no response until I posted a complaint on external platforms. worst bad experience with them. ive book my flight with them and the website crash telling that the bank rejected my payment and few seconds later i receive a text message that the money was debited in my bank account. i startled and shock because i didnt receive any booking confirmation but my money was gone. i contacted their office phone number and spoke to the customer service telling that this things happen, the lady named manisha informed and confirmed to me that their is a transaction but it was cancceld and regarding my money they will debit it back into my bank account within 24 hours since booking was not successful and to my surprise upto to this date i dont receive any money in my bank account, sending email to them and i only get an auto reply message for god sake return back the peoples money. hi ms rochelle, thank you for contacting opodo and apologize for the delay in our response, with regards to your booking reference :11924144949. we are sorry to hear that you had an unsatisfactory experience with us and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. we have received your message and we want to inform you that the charge never happened, but was only an authorization request. and since the booking was not successful, the sum was released again ,to be more sure, you can contact your bank as from our end everything has been done already. opodo prides itself on providing excellent customer service and we regret that you feel that we have disappointed you on this matter. sincerely, ekhlas.a your opodo customer care team read more

I genuinely cannot express what an awful company this is. My flight was cancelled and their website did not give me an option to reschedule it, and so I attempted to contact them through the only phone number available on their website. Not only did I wait on hold for half an hour without any service but I also was charged 81 dollars for the call. I finally figured out that I needed to call the parent company, eDreams, to actually get some customer service. Since I had already wasted my time and money on booking with this company, I figured I might as well take advantage of the 40% discounts on hotels that they wouldn't stop emailing me about. So, I did so. I went onto their website, where the price was advertised for my stay as 574 Euro (including tax). I went to checkout and, again, 574 Euro. I pay for the ticket and my receipt says 625 Euro. What? Even as I type this, the 574 Euro price for that same hotel is still being advertised. I called to ask about it and was told that I would not get the discount because I did not book the flight at the same time that I booked the hotel DESPITE the fact that I was shown 574 the entire checkout process. In most cases, I like to give the benefit of the doubt to companies. However, this was clearly malicious. The way I was talked down to by the customer service representative gave an impression that they were pretty experienced in shutting down the customers. They knew what they were doing. Much better off paying a little extra for a more reputable airline, at least you'll get what you've paid for. read more

I thought they were very efficient in getting me my booking - and I purchased an extra option allowing for flight changes as I wasn't sure of the date I needed to fly. The next day I knew I could fly a day earlier and went to change the flight. First problem was that the system didn't recognize my email for login (although they had sent me confirmation emails to that address) eventually I got through to an online help centre and they were going to try and change my booking for me. No fare for that new day they said, in spite of the fact that it had been available on their website before my issue with login AND it was still there when I got online again albeit £10 more expensive. I tried to change it under manage my booking but there is no option for change flight only cancellation. My advice is book directly with the airline and do not waste your money on buying the extra possibility of changing flights as it does not seem to work with OPODO. I wasted an hour of my time today trying to get online and change the flight with no result. I won't use OPODO again. read more

Be very careful of scam emails stating that you can get compensation for cancelled flights. The email has cancelled flight information and tries to get you to click on a compensation button. DON'T DO IT! The button has a link to an app called MANDRILL. It will ask for a password in order to scam you for trying to recover money that you never paid in the first place. Typically it will say you are owed 600 euros by Opodo, which is false. You have been warned. read more
