As a walk-in, I was in and out in less than an hour, and a good chunk of that time was me looking…read morethrough frames. Stanton is a new (to me) concept where the doctor is not on-site, so your exam is considered "hybrid." One technician will take in your information and you fill out the form on an ipad. Another technician will take you to a room and do all the eye measurements (including the one where they blow a puff of air into your eye) - then, things take an interesting turn. You're brought into a room with a mounted screen in front of you. The doctor shows up on the screen and the technician does all the set up work for him (including sanitizing all the machinery). The doctor explained the hybrid process and was very professional. The exam went on like it would normally do. He controls the slides from wherever he is. If there was a lag in communication, I didn't feel it. My left eye seems to not have a cylinder or axis numbers which is a little weird? Unfortunately, with age, it was determined I needed progressive lenses. BUT! The good news: My insurance covered all levels of the progressive lenses (so I got the ultra premium at no cost). My copay was $10, and my insurance gave me a $150 allowance on frames. I picked some that were lower than that price so my frames were covered, so I only paid for the blue-light blocking coating, and the polycarbonate. Anti-glare and was also included. The grand total, including shipping, was $63.41. Original price? $704.91. Heck. Yeah. The only thing I would change would be to make the selection of glasses bigger, and have them better organized based on their color price system. They were all scattered around, and I'd find some really nice frames only to see they were above my price point.
