I was "assigned" this doctor by Sightbox, which i was using since I couldn't afford the exam (let alone contacts or glasses) from my old optician. I didn't expect much, but I also didn't need anything out of the ordinary. Dr. Dave was SO wonderful - patient, informative, and very conscientious about making sure I knew and understood everything. He gave me some options on how to manage my aging vision (distance vision is horrific, and now I need to use reading glasses - don't get old, folks). He was really considerate of making sure I had affordable options, and I never even said anything about cost. After getting the wrong prescription AND crooked glasses from my old eye doctor (with no effort in resolving the problem). I was (obviously) in dire need of new glasses. Pronto! I'm almost blind without them. So, after a recommendation of a friend, I was pointed to Optical Vision. I went in on a Saturday after calling them and the sweet woman who answered the phone said that I could come in without an appointment. I went and was immediately seen by the eye doctor. He was kind, swift, and informative. The best part is that it's AFFORDABLE and it didn't take weeks (as it did with my last eye doctor) to get new glasses. By Tuesday, I had my glasses ready and am currently wearing them right now as I right this review! Overall, I'm 110% content with my experience here and look forward to coming back and snatching up new glasses and adding more sunglasses to my collection. read more

The service is quick. The doctor is usually available for any emergencies. I would not choose this place for eye exams. You shouldn't trust a practitioner that states, "you will never be able to get 20/20 on both eyes while wearing glasses or contacts so we try to get it close enough". Please do yourself a favor and don't see this guy. Went to two other eye doctors to see if the Rx was correct and I was told it was not. Both doctors gave me the same Rx but completely different from what the doctor at this location gave me. Half of the staff is unprofessional but that is expected. Received my contacts in 24 hours, this may vary. They don't ask if you want daily of weekly. They automatically give you a specific type/brand. Glasses need to be sent out and sometimes they will contact you when they arrive. A follow up call asking for the status of the glasses is recommended. I stopped in here to replace a pair of prescription sunglasses that I dropped onto the subway tracks. I'm picky about my frames, but they have a great selection and they helped me find a perfect pair in no time, measured my prescription from the glasses I was wearing, and they were ready for me to pick up the next day. Don't waste your time. Unpleasant and racist as hell. Ok. I had a damaged frame. So One day, I went into the store and showed them and I was told there was nothing wrong them, (which is basically their way of saying it's not their problem.) So I kindly asked the girl at the front desk to explain why I couldn't get another pair on discount. She said it showed signs of "abuse". I said "How"? Right away, she began to get overly emotional. " You don't believe me? Fine." Then she MARCHED to the back of the store to get the manager. I'm standing there like what the hell? So the manager walked up to me already annoyed. No good morning or nothing. straight up "we can't take this. There is nothing wrong with your glasses. If we give it back to the manufacturer they won't give us credit". Mind you, I paid damn near $200 for these glasses in the first place. Now they're telling me that there is nothing they can do because it is not to their benefit. Wow. But the funny thing is, I'm not even mad at that. I'm mad at the fact that they treated me like I was being difficult in the first place. All I asked for was a better understanding of the "abuse" claim. But no. She smacked her teeth, rolled her eyes and ran to get her manager. What's all that for? Black people(American, Afro latinos, etc). Don't come here. They'll accept our money. But We're not welcomed. Just browsing around the store gets them triggered. On more than one occasion, I got stared down. Followed. Rushed to hurry up. (I was the only in the store)Keep in mind, this store is small. So imagine how obvious and unsettling it is. Only reason why I put up with this place for as long as I did was out of convenience. But no more. read more

I'm traveling in New Jersey for a business trip. Only last day, about 2 hours before my flight, one of the screws on my glasses fell off. At this point, I'm freaking out since there're no LensCrafters nearby (where I originally got the glasses) and I didn't bring a spare pair of glasses/ contacts. I found Optical Vision on my trusty yelp and started heading over, happy to pay any price to get this fixed before my flight. I walked in, with my suitcase, clearly looking like I'm not local. The front desk was extremely helpful and got my glasses fixed within a minute! And they didn't charge me! If I'm ever in the area again long enough, I am definitely coming here for my next pair of glasses! Thanks so much for all of your help and professionalism! Update 1.10.2018: after nearly a month, my glasses are still going strong! A close friend recommended this place to me about 9 months ago. I was slightly hesitant at first because I had been going to Lens Lab Express on 59th st. and Bergenline to get my mothers contact lens prescription refilled, as well as bought a pair of over priced Ray Bans. Anyways, my friend knew, as much as I did, that I needed a new place that wouldn't constantly mess up my orders, but was worried I'd have to deal with a place just like LLE, and would rather deal with a monster I knew. I couldn't have been more wrong. Rich, the owners son took care of me, and my mother like we had been loyal customers for years. On top of the great service, he offered me a great deal on a pair of Persol sunglasses.. These dudes know what there doing, and I'm happy they decided to add their store to Yelp. The staff are very friendly with each customer that walks through the door. Very clean and organized. They're also always glad to answer any questions you have and they have plenty of patience too. I happened upon Dr. Dave by coincidence because he was not recommended by anyone and I don't live in the area. Thankfully, I was greatly surprised to find a caring professional who took his time explaining every option available to me. While in the examination room his attention was completely focused on my needs! I also have to give the the girls in the office a shout-out! They were very accommodating and took time to help me find appointments as soon as possible!!
