The pain in my back was on and off for multiple years and before I went it was actually causing me to curve forward to relieve the pain. However, having had five treatments at Barefoot, my pain level has subsided by about 60% and considering my progress, over the course of several more treatments, I feel my pain will be alleviated completely. I am amazed and could not be more grateful for having gone to Barefoot rehab. I would recommend them to anyone who has experienced chronic pain and has not been able to get relief. For me I feel I have regained my life back and will be able to go forward doing what I want thanks to the relief I have gotten from Barefoot Rehab.

The only reason I am lowering my review is due to the cost and the fact treatment didn't work for me. The cost was explained very clearly up front- I understood that. Unfortunately I was told the area I needed treatment (we figured out via MRI) hadn't had much success for other patients either. It sucked because I spent well over a thousand dollars to receive treatments that didn't make a difference. I do appreciate Dr. Nicos honesty as he suggested I stop treatment since there was little to no improvement, it was just unfortunate I had to spend so much money to figure that out. But as mentioned, everyone was friendly, professional and I was aware of the cost. I took the risk, and was one that it didn't work for.

I first engaged Tina as my physical strength and weight trainer. Her exercise training sessions are amazing in many respects. First, she has kept me in very good shape through her expertise, encouragement, and unending enthusiasm. As a musician I am very protective of my hands and wrists. Tina is always sensitive to this and modifies any exercise that might unduly stress them. This next thing will be hard to believe, but we have never exactly repeated a single exercise session in 21 years! I kid you not. Her imagination and vast knowledge allows her to come up with seemingly endless variations of exercises. Working out with Tina is never boring or rote! At the beginning of our sessions I was suffering from sinus problems and weight gain. Through a series of food eliminations we discovered that I was highly sensitive to dairy products. By suggesting alternative nondairy foods rich in calcium, I was able for the first time in my life to experience the joys of having clear sinuses. As a bonus I almost immediately started to drop weight. For 20 years I have maintained a healthy weight for my height and body type. Tina is also an expert chef and, as with her exercise instruction, has an endless supply of delicious and healthy recipes to share. The basic diet she created for me years ago is still the template I use for cooking to this day. Having turned 60 years old a little while back, I tested as having a rather high glucose level. I was so surprised, but found out that many people my age do. It's very common. Gone unchecked, however, it can lead to more serious consequences like diabetes. Tina assured me that with a few modifications to my diet I could easily reverse the diagnosis. Within 3 months, by limiting refined sugar and many simple carbohydrates, my glucose level returned to a normal rate. No medications required! I LOVE food. I LOVE to cook and to eat. While I appreciate his willingness to conduct thorough testing, my overall experience was far from satisfactory. During my visit, I received an overwhelming number of supplement recommendations--over a million it seemed. It is stipulated in any search that an over whelming amount of supplements is NOT GOOD ! I do get because he is a nurse Practitioner he is limited to the amount of money he could make therefore all these supplements recommendations definitely supplement his income. Example: The 1st prescription was Plaque X specific to the high Calcium score which is what I originally went there for, which turned out to be an astonishing $7,000. Unfortunately, after following his protocol and undergoing another calcium score test, my results worsened instead of improving. He recommended a bowl test for stomach health which actually was $200 and he charged me $800. In supplements alone I spent about $700. Additionally, when I mentioned wanting to lose weight and discussed with him about taking some type of Semi glutted which is like Ozempic he decided to prescribe thyroid medication without a comprehensive evaluation. He felt my thyroid was low but it has always been low most of the time. This decision proved problematic; the medication caused severe spikes in my blood pressure & heart rate to go sky rocket that required hospitalization. Thankfully, once I stopped taking it, my condition returned to normal. While I believe he had good intentions in trying to help me achieve better health outcomes, the approach felt haphazard and overwhelming. Furthermore, the staff at his office not only lacked professionalism but also demonstrated a noticeable lack of empathy--especially his wife. Its all about money with the wife. Garcia would want to talk about something and she would come in and almost drag him out. Never mine Sunshine at the front desk. She always looks like she has a chip on her shoulder. In conclusion, while Magdiel Garcia may have valuable knowledge and intentions to assist patients like myself, it's crucial for him to adopt a more measured and patient-centered approach.
