My significant other and I have used Optimal Home Inspections twice now. Shawn did find quite a few problems with the 1st house we were interested in, he showed us serious concerns with the structure and plumbing. He was very thorough both times, and his initial inspection saved us from a huge money pit that our Attorney later confirmed. Each time, Shawn walked us through what to expect with his inspection process prior to arriving at the property and in more detail once we arrived. He and his associate, Tim, were very professional and kind to all parties involved and Shawn made sure to keep us updated on the progress and the next steps throughout the inspection. It was extremely helpful that we received 2 reports, a full detailed report (complete with pictures) and a summary. There was a quick turnaround time for the reports, and we found them to be both detailed and easy to read. The best part of each inspection was when they explained the electrical, plumbing, and heating systems, and provided valuable insight on efficient and safe materials, in addition to proper installations and what to look out for. I am a first time home buyer. I was very nervous going into the home inspection but my nerves we calmed by Mr. Santos. He arrived early and got down to work. He explained everything to us and answered hundred of questions that we asked in a very professional manner and broke it down to us common people level (lol). He also took the time to explain/ educate us on the different things he knows about houses through inspecting. It was a pleasure working with him. I would recommend him to family/ friends and be confident knowing that he would do an excellent job for them as well. Arrived early at the inspection and already seen Shawn getting his items out of his vehicle. Very friendly and easy to talk to. Looked through every nook and and cranny of the condo.
