I requested service Thursday afternoon. The response was quick. I was informed that the next available time would be Monday afternoon. As I was only seeing Roaches every other day. I chose to wait, based on yelp reviews. Brian showed up on time and sprayed the whole building. He sprayed every where I wanted plus. I got a report from him, with the bill. For the work down I feel like it was a good value. I'm going to have him back for a follow up. Great info on bill (chemicals) and internet says yes to follow up. Very happy with the service!..... Grizz Pest Mgmt is owned by Andy Novinger. Andy's tech sprayed my house on the outside 3x a year for several years-$130 each time (so $390 per year) and it was effective at keeping wasps and insects away from the perimeter of the house. Just recently, this past summer, I asked for mouse protection for the upcoming winter, since I had mice nesting outside last winter in our comcast box, in our a/c unit, and I've seen them inside the house, in the garage, and attic. That's when things went badly. He sent me a tech who put two outside enormous boxes along the perimeter of my house only and the cost for that was $225 with one free followup inspection. The tech placed Snickers bars in the bait boxes with snap traps which is pretty gross and caught 3 things. Then, thereafter, Grizz said I should have the outside bait boxes refilled every quarter for $85.00 (3 x when they're spraying, 1x in Dec). When I asked the tech and Andy about sealing openings on the outside of the house and checking the attic, garage, basement, crawl and baiting those areas to see if mice are inside, the tech would not do it. Tech spent 5 min in my house, said he checked one of my old bait boxes he found in the basement, and nothing was eaten (these were placed out 7-10 yrs ago and I told him they're old). My new exterminator opened all of them in front of me, showing me crumbled old poison in 4 boxes that would not entice a mouse. Andy's tech did not open my bait boxes. Now that a real exterminator/mouse control person has come out, the new person identified and sealed at least 20 places outside where mice could be entering through the perimeter bottom of the house --total cost for baiting inside, checking bait inside a week later (none eaten), and sealing perimeter was $240--not what Grizz wanted to charge me ($85 quarterly to just bait outside with no baiting inside or sealing the outside=$320 yearly --but only if I also paid for the $390 a year in spraying for a total of $710. In contrast, the new company will check outside and inside mouse boxes for free, when they spray for only $75 per spray). I had to go elsewhere to get anything done and it was done for 1/3 the cost!! I would avoid Grizz. The customer service is lacking and the training for his techs (I don't know if he has 5 or 25 ) is lacking. I guess if you are licensed, just like in plumbing, the techs don't have to be licensed. Also, I think it's particularly discriminatory against me, a senior older woman, retired teacher, to be treated in this manner by the owner. I did not appreciate the mean emails I received from Andy, calling me a liar. By contrast, I recommended Grizz to a male friend, and Andy has been very accommodating to him, and came out himself, twice, to fix their mouse problem. Andy refused to come out to my home, refused to send a different tech to my home, except to pick up his bait boxes. How Andy stays in business, I don't know how, except some techs must be better than others and I'm guessing if you get Andy, he does a good job (I don't know since I've never met him in person). I own my own home business, and I could never treat customers in the way Andy Novinger, owner of Grizz Pest Mgmt, does. Also, and this is against Yelp guidelines, Andy asked me to remove my review and told me that I'm harming his family by posting this review. This review is honest. He is violating his agreement with Yelp where he is advertised higher by paying Yelp to insure that his services are good. Yelp has strict guidelines against business owners threatening customers and asking them to remove reviews. read more

Noel from Grizz came out on time for our scheduled appointment and was very helpful in talking me through the potential issues. He took a lot of time with me in examining and assessing potential entry points. I'd absolutely use Grizz again and would recommend them to friends. One of the big guys came out last season and grabbed a mop with an extension pole. Tossed a bunch of dust all over my house and said "this will do it." They also happened to load the mop head with dust all over my front lawn so it was really great to have my new sod die... Anyhow I KNEW I needed someone far better and more thoughtful about where and how they're applying any pesticide or treatment. Andy comes by, takes out his ladder, tosses his pesticides in his pocket and treated about 30 or so holes? Bees were dropping all over the place. 20 or so in an hour and then another 20 over the next two weeks. I haven't seen one since. Started out with good conversations and good service, but second time around was terrible. We had service to seal up cracks on our foundation, they were here for 30 mins and left (they said it would take a few hours). We asked why it took such a short time and their response was that there were not many cracks for mice to enter on the foundation. When we checked, we saw that there was so many openings for mice to enter and only a few spots mortared. When we called to have the issue resolved, we received condescension and excuses. Andy is the Owner and a licensed IDPH and NWCO Entomologist. He was extremely helpful and was able to schedule an appointment that same week. This review is long overdue. Because we bought our house in Feb 2021, we were required to wear our masks at the showings, which meant that some then-faint odors went unnoticed. When we purchased, a pipe burst in our bathroom, and long story short our shower got removed and the odors were no longer faint. Our bathroom smelled like a hamster cage. Andy and his team were truly spectacular in getting into our crawl space to assess the damage (and they worked well in collaboration with a contractor who was doing water-damage work). He uncovered a racoon paradise with ripped-out heat vents, pulled down insulation, etc. in our crawl space where a family of racoons (and likely other vermin) had been living rent-free for quite awhile. It was an incredibly stressful time for us as a new home-buyer (there were tears. He was cool about it.) and Andy was such an kind, informative, and effective pest management specialist that I will truly never go anywhere else. He removed the furry enemies (some living, some long-dead), replaced the insulation, and used sanitizing methods to make sure that our home was odor free, pest free, clean, and most importantly fixed the space where they had entered so it won't happen ever again. I've also used them for insect-spraying in my interior and plan to use them for mosquito abatement as well this summer. These are nice people and I know I could always get ahold of the owner if needed. I think they're fairly reasonably priced compared to other outfits. I had Grizz out to take care of two yellow jacket nests in the ground. They were quick and effective. We've owned a house for 4 years, never had any mice and all of a sudden mice showed up. Because Grizz was effective with the yellow jackets, I called them about the mice. Long and short of it, Grizz did exterior sealing where mice can get in along with placing traps. Over a 6 month period, never caught anything and I saw a mouse occasionally running in the kitchen about once a week. Eventually called another place who pointed out 10 separate locations where mice could infiltrate on the exterior--Grizz had missed these areas. We filled in the exterior gaps, got some sticky traps from Home Depot and within 3 days we caught 4 mice. Haven't had any issues since then. The other company said no matter how many traps an be placed, if exterior isn't sealed mice will continue to come. I discontinued service with Grizz. read more

Wow, the service at Grizz is absolutely outstanding! From start to finish Grizz has been very easy to work with and has made our appointments according to my schedule. Staff has been so very helpful, from the woman who makes the appointments to the owner to lovely Jason. Our temporary housing situation blessed us with having an ant infestation prior to arrival. So not cool, and the fact that I am a complete clean freak only compounded the issue. I had reached out to other companies, but Grizz is local being located in Lagrange. They set up their earliest appointment and arrived ready to spray. Jason was so sweet and respectful, even chatting up my four year old. I'm still looking for a Pest Control! I had this guy out because I saw a rat in the back of my house. He came out, put some traps, then came back within a week or two and took the traps and at that point there was no communication. Emailed and said he had Covid and couldn't make it out that week. There was no further inspection, and the problem didn't get resolved. I am not sure how others received this good service that they rated! We discovered about a dozen stink bugs in the home last Thursday, so I was desperate to find someone to kill those bugs... Andy was the first to respond, but he couldn't come until the following Monday :( Although I'd prefer having someone to come over sooner, I still made the appointment with him because he sounded professional and knowledgeable over the phone. The experience with Andy turned out to be great!! We've killed several bugs over the weekend, so I was a little worried - what if there's no bugs to kill? But Andy successfully determined where the bugs were coming from! He also checked every room, vacuumed all the bugs he had access to, and examined the exterior of the house. He also told us how to prevent those stink bugs from coming in in the future. The entire procedure went very smoothly and the price was reasonable. Job was done efficiently and effectively. I'd definitely use Grizz for any future pest problems. They're trustworthy, do great work, and have reasonable pricing with no surprise up charges. What more can a homeowner ask for? Skunks required digging near the front steps to place a piece of metal fencing and they left my yelled area in better shape than it had been before they started.
