I hate doing business with people that hide their prices from you. Suddenlink is one of those businesses. They will not talk to you or let you search their web site for prices without getting an exact address first. And even if their prices have dropped, if you use your real address, you will see nothing but the prices that you are presently paying. If you lie to them about the address you are calling about and then find out that you are being over-charged, they will reduce your bill. While they have almost no competition in Amarillo, at present, I hope that changes because I will be one of the first to bail. I previously had Dish and we LOVED the music stations and selections. There were a dozen channels for everyone in the house. We got to missing it so much that we upgraded our Suddenlink so that we could get their music channels,..... and they are AWFUL. Pitiful selection of stations, genres and the skimpiest playlists imaginable. We never listen to music on Suddenlink. And, if indeed you find yourself stuck with Suddenlink, know that you are going to experience multiple "mini-outages" virtually EVERYDAY. They are only five to 15 seconds at a time but they are very annoying. Suddenlink runs tons of commercials trying to convince folks that their employees are good citizens, and they may well be, but in my opinion their employer is a corporate bully and shady service provider. read more

The worst wifi provider ive ever dealt with. From the time I started my wifi got increasingly worse, experienced constant outage, and horrible customer service. I upgraded to the 500mbps wifi plan hoping it would make my wifi somewhat better and not only did it not, they switched me to the 1GIG plan without my consent. Even on this plan I still got the same horrible 10-80mbps wifi for $120, when I tried to cancel this they refused change my bill, So I was charged $120 for 3 days of a plan I didnt use choose nor receive the benefits of. Like I said customer service is terrible, even when speaking to an 'agent' it's very clear you're speaking to a poorly made bot or someone from another country who barely knows what they're doing. read more

The worst company I have ever signed up with deserves negative stars! If you have any problems, you will spend at least one to four hours on the phone with customer service because all they do is transfer your calls and put you on hold. When you try to cancel your account, they are the most difficult people to work with they keep offering you deals even when you say you want to cancel. I canceled about three months ago and I'm still getting billed and when I called they're stating that it's not officially canceled even though I got the cancellation letter and last month when I called for the same problem, they told me not to worry about it because my account is close, but they're automatically drafting money from my account still. when I asked to turn off auto pay they say that's not an option and when I asked to completely cancel again, they do not listen to me and they just continue to give me the go around. I had to call for a down wire that was in the middle of our yard and the road. They kept telling me you have to have an appointment! For a down wire oh and it's Friday but we can't come fix that wire that us in the middle of the road till Tuesday. After being transferred to a supervisor I had to repeat to them again that their wire was in the middle of the road. Service already sucks but their customer service is worse. When I have to repeat the same thing and they don't want to send anyone out to fix their own stuff *** is horrible. What company wants to treat their customers like this. Been with them over 12 years and I am finally throwing in the towel. We have always called and made payments over the phone at the number on their bill. Called in April man answers the call says Optimum payment system is down and they are taking the payments. Gives me a name that will show up on my bank statement which it did. Daughter calls a couple days later says there is no internet (happens frequently) call to see how long outage is going to be and they inform me they disconnected due to nonpayment. Relay to them what I am saying here, and they are still holding me responsible for the payment. Bank is checking on it for us, but Optimum says that it is not their fault and suggest I start paying via their website. If I could give them a ZERO I would. This is the worst company ever! My 94-year-old grandmother has had their service for 27 1/2 years. Her TV has been on and off with no service for 16 days. THEY CANCELLED the appointment for a technician on a Friday and will reschedule the following Monday. This is a big deal for someone that age! They have been very aggressive with me if I asked for a lower price. Never successfully troubleshooted any problems I've had and now that I want to cancel my service I keep getting phone numbers that don't lead me to a representative that can cancel my service. This company is as bad as advertised. I was never alerted about the hidden internet fees until it was too late. One of the biggest problems I face is with their customer service, as it's all outsourced to India. Generally I haven't had bad experiences in talking with them, as they try to be as nice, and accommodating as possible. Unfortunately, the praise ends there. They never really seem to help me with my questions, and I got the run around several times as to why my bill kept getting hiked with expensive fees. They told me that they sent me a message concerning the added fees, but I never received such a message. Turns out they were sending it to an old phone number I haven't used in years. I had that number taken out of their records years ago, but they still had it on their records. Long story short, my bill now exceeds over $400. I've always paid on time, and never had an issue like this before. I now plan on canceling my service, going elsewhere, and investing in a VPN. Suddenlink (long ago) used to be a good company, but they have been horrible. As far as the actually service, for internet only, we really haven't had any outages and the speed has been good. But that's where the good ends. Their customer service is horrible. They increase your bill almost every month by $20, at least. You call to get it fixed, they say it'll be fixed and you will get another bill and it hasn't been fixed. They expect you to pay the overcharged amount and try to charge you late fees while you keep having to call back because they aren't fixing your bill. This is a total turd of a company, and it is amazing that they are even in business. We've had a business account for our four retail locations for ten years. A few months ago, our credit card on file had expired, and rather than emailing or contacting us to let us know, they simply waited until it was sufficiently past due and cut off our service one day entirely. That's nice. I asked them why they wouldn't give me any warning, and they said "Oh we can't email everyone who is late on a payment." No? Then how can you email me three times a week selling me on upgrading my services, etc.? Total garbage. We switched all of our locations to another company and it was one happy day when I dropped the equipment off. Suddenlink is hostile toward business. I have service with Suddenlink. Their lines have been strewn across my alley for 5 days now where a vehicle cannot pass. It is a dangerous situation as if a car were to come down the alley, like they usually do, they can easily get caught up in the lines. I called Suddenlink 4 times and no one has come out yet. Secondly, I have a friend of mine whose father is 89 years old, has a heart condition along with other medical issues and has service with Suddenlink. His phone went out and his daughter called Suddenlink to get them to help restore his service. The would not do it because, although she, too, is a customer of Suddenlink, she was not an "authorized agent" on his account. I guess they don't care about their customers...and if something happens to this man, it is on their hands. If there was another option, I would switch service immediately. Since we moved into our home in March of this year, we have gone through three routers, seven technician visits, and still no reliable internet. Of course, the bills still come due and no adjustment is ever made for time without service. Staff will flat out lie about the issue at hand. In just the last couple days we were told it was because of a past due amount so we paid it. Still no service. Later that day, a phone rep told us there was an outage in the area that would take 48 hours to fix and there was nothing else to do about it. Since I have had high speed internet in other parts of the state, I can confidently state that nothing has happened in the area that would justify a 48 hour loss of service (like a hurricane or tornado). Latest call to SuddenLink resulted in a setup of our eighth technician visit, as they now don't show any outage in the area. Of course, it will now be two days before the technician can come out here. If there were another game in town, I would switch in a heartbeat. Do yourself a favor and stay far, far away. Update:. Without a doubt the worst internet I've ever had. And because of my location, SuddenLink is the only available internet provider I can use. I have the 200 mb/s service and I constantly 1.) cannot finish a HBO/Netflix movie or show because of the poor speed and connection and 2.) lag when playing Xbox Live online. I've emailed and called about the issue before and of course, nothing improves. But yet they told me they could see my modem (because I always ask) when they were asking me to reboot it??? Their fix was for me to bring my modem in to the store to get it swappped out....pretty sure that wasn't going to do me any good. I work from home..virtual calls, Teams call, zoom calls..you name it. 1.5 days later the service guy came arrived but he could not climb on the ladder and make the connection due to wind. I have a neighbor across the alley who has the exact same internet service/speed from Suddenlink. (No equipment rental, No TV, No security). He moved in 2 months after we did, and is paying 33% less per month.....did I mention the EXACT same service (we compared bills). I did not mess with calling at the time I found out the price difference. I did not mess with calling after they failed to send the $50 gift card for new customers. Now on 03/01/20, they have raised my bill 20% after 6 months with them. When I called, a was connected to a foreign call center. She looked at my account and said they the bill had risen due to taxes imposed by the government. I informed her the taxes went up because the bill went up! I asked why my neighbor was paying so much less, she said he probably had a different plan. I told her I was looking at a copy and it was the EXACT same plan. She said okay, look at you bill and you will see your cost...not an answer. I asked again, and she said the same thing. I ended the call. Suddenlink is a prime example of what happens with little or no competition. This company has to be one of the worst in the panhandle. I have used a week of vacation this year alone to get the cable at my home repaired! My TVO went out, I thought instead of taking a day off, I would simply go to their office and exchange it. I am currently about the 28th person standing in line. This is the third time I have attempted to simply exchange the box. On the previous two attempts the line was approximately 30 people deep with the same two girls working the counter. I pay for 400 Mbps internet and for the past 3 weeks have been averaging 30mbps. I call they bump it up to around 340 Mbps. Then within a few hours it is back down to the normal slow internet. We need to start a class action lawsuit against them. read more
