This business has been hounding me for a fee for three years, so might as well leave a review while I sort this shit out. If you have the means, avoid this place at all costs. At least avoid Stephanie Nagai. I was a minor at the time getting treatment for my bipolar disorder, and I CONSTANTLY felt like I was being talked over. Endangered my mental and physical health multiple times. Insulted my appearance while severely depressed. Refused to prescribe a therapeutic dose of a medication I seeked outside care to obtain because it's "not in the handbook," whatever the hell that's supposed to mean. Note that it was not even a controlled substance, either! Nagai prioritizes some asinine book with no sense of reality of the nuance of the human condition over patients' health and wishes. No wonder I had to go to another provider. Is a teenager fresh out of an inpatient facility with a highly stigmatized mental illness not capable of making rational decisions about their health? They will let you rack up an 900$ bill before telling you that your insurance isn't covering. While looking oveer the statement I'm seeing I was charged for a full hour. Dr.Pelin was always short with me and quick to get off the video call. And would only ever ask me "what are you going to do" which is kinda why I was looking for a therapist because obviously I don't know what to do. So if I knew I was being charged for the full hour I would have fought more to be seen for the full amount I was being charged for. I needed and wanted the help. I would go Else where if your truly looking for help. I let Prisca know when she asked me to come back another time (randomly mid sentence) while looking disgustedly at my 13 month old like shes never seen one before. i let her know that if she was having m come back she better pray i dont end up in er. WELL next day i was rushed to the ER. i am still here an have been for 5 days..i am someone who went to a professional for HELP. because she was too tired that day, even though i had driven 1.5 hours to see her she decided me, as a patient, wasn't important enough. Prisca, remember you asking me how i was "suffering" with a smirk on your face?? living in and out of the hospital because no doctors care enough to help people anymore is suffering in MANY ways! People if you're in a crisis don't go here. Go to a place that actually understands insurance and cares about the well being of patients instead of stressing them out over basic WA state insurance laws. Not only did I put my health in their hands as their appointments are so spread out. I'm left suffering and trying to manage my health until I got in, they made the process so much worse than it needed to be. When I said I'd have more than enough insurance documentation provided when I showed up for my appointment since they called me multiple times over the course of the day over a lack of understanding of how my specific medical coverage works which is provided by an actual federal law. They called me the next day asking that I'd bring a deposit. For what?! Just Incase my issuance that I have and pay for which will cover this appointment doesn't? Just beyond. My mental health significantly DROPPED after using their service! To anyone who has anxiety or in a tight schedule, please do yourself a favor and stay away from this place please. Here is my story and hope it will give you some insights how horrible this place is. I reserved an appointment on labor day Monday Sep 5th at 9 am in the morning. But I suddenly got an urgent meeting request from a my customer on Sep. 5th at 9:45 am. I tried to call them to cancel or reschedule on the Thursday. But they told me that they have a policy of 48 BUSINESS hours to reschedule which is ridiculous in the first place IMO since most of the people here have very variable schedules. But since it is in their policy, I decided to go with it only prob try to end the appoints 5 minutes early. Then on the day of the appointment, I joined in the Zoom meeting at 9 am and the therapist still did not join the meeting when it is almost 9:10 am. I am so pissed so I decided to call the hospital to see what I can do. But apparently they are all on a break so no one pick up the call. I want to tell you Optimum, your clients' time is VALUABLE as well!!! Not just yours!!! So I decided to drop the meeting and focus on preparation for the meeting with my client. Little do I know, the WORST is yet to come! They later charged me the full amount plus the late fee which is 282 bucks directly to my bank account. They apparently did not go through my insurance either even though they are in my network. I don't know the exact reasons but I have filed a claim against it. I am not afraid to go to court with this piece of evil blood sucking institution! Don't overlook little people and we are not afraid to fight! I am deciding to contact all my coworkers and friends and families around Washington area and hope any one who is attempting to use their service: BOYCOTT the money grabbing blood sucking institution! Stay away because they don't care your mental health. Only your pocket. And when they realize you may not use their service because of their terrible service, they will try to squeeze the last drop of blood from you!!! read more

She asks medical questions with an obvious bias. Confirming the answer she wants to hear. "you don't smoke right? You eat pretty healthy?" not a professional way to ask medical questions. She LAUGHED at some things I disclosed which I was obviously there seeking help to manage. She asked if I have any religion in my life to which I responded "no, I was raised catholic but am no longer." She responded, "you didn't go to catholic school did you?" I said "yes, all through high school but it's no longer a part of my life." To which she responded, "my kids are in catholic school right now. They best not be saying that down the road." Essentially saying she hopes her children don't turn out like me. This appointment was a waste of my time and money, and worse for my mental health than just staying home. If I could give her negative stars I would. Yesterday my son had a phone appointment with Stephanie Nagai. This was just an initial consultation as Kaiser is no longer taking his Aetna insurance. I spent the remainder of the afternoon having to talk him down from that call. He is in a fragile mental state right now and she put him through 1-1/2 hours of asking mental health assessment questions which should NEVER be yes/no answers. She did not give him a chance to explain anything or ask any questions. Her whole demeanor made him feel degraded and worthless. Her attitude came across as very judgmental not to mention that she was downright rude and brusque. Would not suggest her to anyone. She would probably get someone off a ledge by telling them to JUMP. read more

Ever since I wrote my personal review about Prisca she has messaged me twice on here asking me to remove my review. I personally find this unprofessional. She even had the audacity to report my review on Wellness.com; "This message is to inform you that the review you posted on Wellness.com is being contested by Dr. Prisca Nwizugbo" Which in turn got my review removed, but since she cannot do that here she continues to message me asking to remove my review, which has caused me to have to block her. I responded to her on here stating: "Every body is going to have good and bad reviews and you cannot deny anything in my review is untrue. I have credit card transactions, prescription fills, e-mails, etc to prove that you had me on multiple medications, I had paid my bills when you accused me of not doing so, e-mails from my insurance requesting money back from you, and I have e-mails from your accountant with payments that she processed and never posted to my account with you. Everything else is obviously my opinion, which is what reviews are...opinions of people for others to read. I recommend dealing with the fact that you are in a position where you are going to have good and bad reviews. You are going to be able to help some and leave others disgruntled for various reasons..." It has been almost exactly a year since this provider and I parted ways and I truly hope she has improved her business and medication management ways. read more

Prisca is one of the most AMAZING practitioners I have interacted with over the past few years! I am not going to go into detail about how badly I needed her help when I first started going to her, but (trust me!) I did. She was patient, compassionate, kind, empathetic, supportive, and generous with her explanations, solutions, and time (she got me in at the last minute repeatedly when I really, really needed to see her). Prisca worked very hard to get me OFF of all of the prescriptions I was on prior to coming to her. Powerful prescriptions. She arranged for me to have genetic testing done so that she didn't prescribe anything that my body couldn't assimilate. She found ways to save me $$ on prescriptions when I had to pay out of pocket. She encouraged me to begin to exercise daily to build up my body so that I could wean off of the "legal drugs" that I had been taking. Prisca has a small office without a large support staff. Some people have posted that they ran into a few "issues" with timing. Anytime I asked a question about any issue, my questions were dealt with promptly. I have gone to many, many doctors and specialists over the past few years because of some challenging life situations. Most of my doctors (through the UW) have worked in large offices with several support people dealing with all of the minutiae that is involved in running a medical office. Prisca doesn't have that same scenario. She runs a small office, which I am sure keeps costs down for her patients. We live in a society of instant gratification. Life is fast, fast, fast. Too fast. Sometimes we need to step back, take a deep breath, and give each other the benefit of the doubt. And be kind and patient with each other. Even with our doctors (who are human beings, also). We seem to expect perfection from those who care for us. Is that expectation realistic? read more

If I can give NEGATIVE stars to this company I would have. My husband was having severe anxiety and depression and so the earliest appointment we could get was with ARNP STEPHANIE L. NAGAI. Perhaps that was a big mistake because I was reported by my husband that he felt that there was lack of compassion and empathy towards him, as he felt he was treated just another patient to get the work done. The ARNP was mostly engaged in jotting down information in her computer system instead of showing empathy and listening to my husband. At the end of the session he was prescribed certain medications. However, he was having severe side effects and continued anxiety with panic attacks. Despite calling the office 5 times and leaving messages two days in a row, we DID NOT hear back from this ARNP to assist with medication changes. We had to resort to our PCP who promptly returned our calls and assisted us with these horrific symptom management. BEWARE, they also take your credit card upfront and charge you right away for the session. IT JUST SEEM like they were just interested in getting my money. We dont mind paying for their services as long as we can also benefit from their expertise. I was deeply disappointed and will not be recommending this group to anyone for their mental health needs. read more

QUACK! If it looks like a duck and sounds like a duck, its probably Prisca. I saw her twice earlier this year and stopped. My first appointment was ok, despite the fact she complained about having to come in on a weekend and how she needed to have a "talk" with her receptionist about that. Unprofessional. RED FLAG #1. The appointment was ok so I went for a follow up a week later. This is when her sloppiness showed. She shows up to the appointment late. RED FLAG #2, then spends time trying to boot up her compute and get settled in. We speak breifly on how to proceed with treatment and she writes me a prescription for some medication. What caught me is when she said most of her clients have to call bugging her to authorize the meds. RED FLAG #3. No client should ever have to bug their doctor to get something done. I leave and the receptionist is asking for payment, I say no, because I want to see what my responsibility is AFTER you go through my insurance and I request an itemized bill be mailed to me. They don't give you a bill, you get a little ass receipt like you bought a bag of chips at the corner market. Normally after these types of appointments you feel as if you're on the right track, I left feeling as if I'd wasted my time. The appointments were a joke. I dropped my prescription off at the pharmacy and then they said they need authorization, so I called Prisca's office twice in 1 week asking to see if she had called the pharmacy and my insurance company regarding my medication. No one ever called me back, RED FLAG #4, so I canceled my appointment for the following week. She wanted 3 visits from me in 1 month, which would have totaled more than $600 out of pocket, not including the medication she never called to authorize which is extremely expensive. It took them 4 months to mail me a bill, then when i came, Prisca had the nerve to charge me extra for the appointment going over time when SHE SHOWED UP LATE! Then they tell me they need payment or its going to collections... HA, wait so because your office dropped the ball you're going to rush me? No ma'am you will not. Stay far away from her. read more

Next visit she had a fit because hadn't see me in almost 3 months. Told her I was in the hospital for 18 days. Said next time make my appointments. They're important. I'm normally not one to write online reviews but I've had such a wonderful experience with Dr. Prisca Nwizubo that I felt I should. I have been suffering from anxiety and ADHD for as long as I can remember. I started discussing my condition with medical doctors while in high school and after a few years decided I needed to see a therapist. Over the next 20 years I met with one psychologist and two psychiatrists but was still suffering from anxiety, ADHD and now experiencing panic attacks. I searched online for a new therapist and came across Dr. Nwizubo's profile on a psychology website. After reading it I decided to give her a call, figuring there was nothing to lose. I have been seeing Dr. Prisca for a couple months now and the progress we have made is INCREDIBLE. For the first time in my life I can calmly sit still while COMPLETING an entire task. I can also go in public without having to take a couple shots of alcohol to calm my nerves and give me liquid courage. I was a drug user and alcoholic for the past 10+ years but am now clean and sober! I don't even want to have a drink or get high because I love the way I feel and don't want to alter it in any way. I called her office last week to let her know that for the first time in my life I have impulse control. Gone are the days where I would grab a drink before even realizing what I was doing. Walking through a store is no longer an adventure resulting in two bags full of stuff I don't really need. To be able to take a minute to consider whether or not I want to do something, rather that jumping in and doing it without thinking, is incredible. Dr. Prisca is an incredible therapist and I hope anyone reading this review will take the time to call her and make an appointment (for your sake). It's been my experience that counseling is only as effective as the amount of effort you put in. Dr. Prisca is extremely friendly and compassionate but she also give you the little push you need to continually make progress. I've always dreaded my appointments in the past but actually look forward to seeing Dr. Prisca. She even met with me at 8AM on a Friday when I was having a mini-crisis and not only helped me relax and leave her office with a smile on my face, but also made sure I didn't feel bad about meeting her so early and on such short notice. Two and a half years ago I had the misfortune of going to an initial consultation with Prisca. My experience there aside, I canceled our follow up appointment because I didn't feel comfortable. She ended up calling me to find out why, and then told me something about her husband being hospitalized, essentially asking for a second chance. I remember it being highly unprofessional, and the therapist I was seeing advised me to not return. TWO AND A HALF YEARS later, I get emails and phone calls asking for the copay they forgot to charge me and eventually get told they will send my bill to collections if I don't pay. I take full responsibility for not paying in a more timely fashion. But I'm just appalled at Prisca's audacity to charge for a copay for an appointment SHE botched. And why did it take 36 months? Did you forget to bill my insurance? Uncalled for. If someone I cared about was is need of psychiatric care, I would never recommend this service. read more

She is horrible! My 22 yo daughter went to her for panic attacks, depression, and medication. She chose her because she had next day appointments and she needed to be seen ASAP. Prisca spent most of the time looking at her computer, after arriving late. She said to my daughter, "You didn't think this was therapy did you?". Well, yes - that was why she was there!
