TERRIBLE rude receptionist who put my husband's health, life, and safety at risk…read more My husband had an episode of disorientation; we called his PCP who said they could not get him in today but that he needed to be evaluated in person and get scans within a 48 hour window or he could be in serious danger for stroke. (Unfortunately due to other reasons it took almost 2 days to establish this info so we were within 5 hours of this deadline by now.) His PCP doctor sent us specifically to Franciscan Urgent Care. When we arrived, I quickly explained the situation to the desk staff, starting with that his PCP had sent us directly there and said it was time sensitive. The first thing this woman said, already condescendingly, was "well if he's not having symptoms now we can't do anything. He needs to *establish care with a PCP* and get evaluated by them." I explained for a second time that he already has a PCP and that they sent us to urgent care (which I had already stated quite clearly). The woman proceeded to - "well, his doctor was wrong. If he's not having symptoms right now we can't do anything. He needs a PCP for evaluation." I again said he HAS a PCP and that they said he needs to be evaluated *in person* by a doctor today and likely get scans before the 48 hour window closes. The woman again said they at urgent care couldn't do anything and we should schedule with his PCP. (Who, again, had already told us that they could not see him within the critical time window and he needs urgent care.) I said, okay, I understand. Should we go to the ER? At this point she got more combative and said "well you can't just walk into an ER and announce you're there to get scans. You need insurance authorization for scans which is why HE NEEDS TO GET EVALUATED BY HIS PCP." I again told her I understood that, but again that he would not be able to see his PCP today and that his own doctor had advised us to be evaluated in person within this critical 48 hour window. I said I understood we could not just walk into the ER and demand to have scans done. I asked if an ER doctor would be able to perform an evaluation to get a referral for a scan. I should mention I was very calm and polite throughout all of this. At this point she put on her biggest "dealing with difficult people smile" and informed me "Look, I have told you several times, but if you won't listen to me, then you can just go ahead to the ER and have them tell you the same thing I'm telling you. So why don't you do that since you won't listen to me." Like .... ?!?!?!? We were in a time sensitive medical situation, the repercussions of which could be lifelong disability or DEATH. I don't know if this woman was intentionally misunderstanding me or just incapable of basic comprehension, but either way she made it her mission to dress me down and be as unhelpful as possible because apparently putting us in our place was more important than my husband's life. (And I don't even know how we could have offended her in the first place in the few-sentence interaction I described above. She seemed to make the immediate assumption that my husband didn't have a PCP and therefore is a lower class of human being - despite the first sentence out of my mouth being "my husband's PCP sent us here." And side note, I find it extremely unlikely that an urgent care doctor couldn't have done the same evaluation that was done an hour later by the kind and responsible staff at St Anne emergency department. But this gatekeeper at the urgent care front desk wouldn't even let us talk to an actual member of the medical staff. If you want to be treated with basic human decency and have your medical concerns taken seriously, do NOT come to Franciscan Urgent Care, where the receptionist apparently knows more than the medical professionals and won't be told otherwise.

This was the case for me this week - my son came down with a nasty cough and was complaining of ear pain, so I wanted to get him in and make sure we weren't dealing with anything serious. The Point Ruston Indigo was the ONLY place that was close-ish by that had same day appointments and easy online booking. Thaaaank gooodnessss. This was our first time to this particular urgent care, and I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and updated it is! I know a lot of the businesses at Ruston are newer, and this spot is no exception. All of the staff was really nice. The front desk woman was nice and got us back as quickly as she could, and the nurse/medical assistant who we dealt with for the first half of our appointment was so great with my son. He had to get the nasal swab which is never fun, but she was awesome with him and was able to get it done with next to no tears. The actual provider was also really nice and got us out with our prescription for antibiotics quickly. When we left I got a call from them that we had left my daughter's binky behind (which was yet to be discovered) which I thought was so kind of them! I know some kids are very attached to a certain type of binky, so that could've been catastrophic. Thank you to this office for providing the community with great and efficient care!

My poor mother was writhing in pain. Jacqueline Sisolak, NP, ordered xrays, which were negative (this we already predicted because there was no injury/trauma), then attempted to discharge her. We practically begged for a steroid or Toradol injection, to make life tolerable until my mother's appointment. Jacqueline repeatedly became snappy with us, even when we were asking valid questions. She then proceeded to tell my mother that she only had TWO options, OTC meds OR narcotics, and she was not going give her any narcotics. First of all, NO ONE asked for narcotics. Second of all, there are MANY other options in between OTC meds and narcotics. Jacqueline Sisolak admitted that OTC meds were obviously not working, but that my mother needed to go home and keep taking them. She refused to help my mother, and to add insult to injury, made her out to be a drug-seeking individual. We asked for her reasoning, and she flat out refused to speak with us. There were no contraindications or valid reasons as to why my mother could not get a steroid or Toradol injection. My mother was in a vulnerable state, and Jacqueline, NP, refused to help her, and rushed us out of the clinic after unfairly shaming her.

She listened to my concerns, made great suggestions and was overall a wonderful doc. Wish I could have her as a primary provider- yet couldn't hope for better care in a pinch. They did have some odd billing practices in that they require payment same day, there wasn't a "send bill in mail" option, I reached my full yearly deductible which should have resulted in 100% coverage, but they charged me ~$50. I will have to work that out with my insurance though I guess.

No policy around that that I saw before or since. Then she said my visit would be upwards of $500. Needless to say, I walked (or rather, limped) out and will never return. Then I checked the other urgent care locations and saw they were at least the same price. They do tend to prescribe medication more often here than other places, but when I've expressed concern with a specific Rx I had issues with, they were quick to find an alternative. The biggest reason I love this place is the time it takes. I'm usually out the door in less than 15 minutes (with an appointment). That includes greeting reception, getting vitals from an assistant, answering questions about why I'm there, talking to the doc, and leaving with my visit summary. I don't come here when I'm feeling well - I want to be back home, wrapped in a blanket, hopefully with some antibiotics or medication to make my plague less miserable. More than any other place I've been, this checks that box. If you're looking for a conversation about how your family is doing, make an appointment with your PCP. I found their care exceptional, comparable to the care that I receive at my University medical clinic at home. The CHI Franciscan Urgent Care Center on Fauntleroy is now my "go-to" care provider for routine medical needs while in West Seattle.
