Worse tv service ever. Cuts in and out, Always error messaging. Can't connect to dvr. Stuttering channels. Cuts out in middle of watching something to do "update" at prime time. Internet seems do go out every night for a quite long period of time. When you need security to work, I'm "offline". Time to change over both Internet and cable. ONCE YOUR SIGNED UP, DON'T EVER TRY TO SWITCH COMPANIES. I've had Optimum for 3 years, no complaints about the service or speed. Signing up and getting it was easy. Except I have never had a consistent internet bill. Some months $108, some $120. When I tried to cancel due to moving and just not wanting to pay outrageous costs- I was unable to cancel with my first customer service call as the lady and I went around 50X with her trying to keep my service and tried bringing my cost down to $10 a month. She wouldn't take no for an answer. She wasn't doing what CUSTOMER service representatives do and assisting the CUSTOMER. They must get a kickback for pissing people off. So upon screaming at her and hanging up, I decided to unplug my equipment and take it to the store. Which you cannot cancel service at a store(what kind of company doesn't do that). She kindly asked me to call the SAME customer service number. Even after telling the agent I had already dropped my equipment off and that there was nothing that could be done to keep me, he continued to try to talk me into service another 5-10x!!!! Optimum took over Suddenlink and was suppose to serve BETTER. HAHA, my bill goes up constantly, but my TV and internet time goes DOWN!!! WTH? Try to contact them and get absolutely nowhere. Am constantly told service is down in my area and will be up soon. How many months is soon exactly? For about 3 months now I can't even see, heard the local channels because of lines flickering across the screen constantly. If it's MY TV going out, wouldn't it affect ALL CHANNELS? We just moved to Victoria Tx. My husband works from home for a financial services company. His job requires constant internet services. Our internet goes out several times a day. Posing issues with his boss. We have stressed the importance with optimum. 3 weeks of in and out service and we have the biggest plan available. WTH??? Went to Sudden Link yesterday. Customer service is very poor. The guy that waited on us kept trying to force us into a higher paid plan. We are elderly but very knowledgeable in electronics. Horrible service, they simply do not care about about their customers. I have been without internet service for a week, and they have just given us the run around, saying that our area is currently experiencing outages. They have had numerous billing issues where their system has not drafted our account due to THEIR systems error (I have auto payment set up), and they cancelled our service. This company should win a 1st place award for arrogance, ever increasing prices, and abuse of monopoly power. I'm so glad that I finally made the decision to give them the boot. For over a year I've been given the run around about putting my wire underground once you give these people your money don't expect Them to care anymore. After the nightmare I've endured dealing with these idiots, I can say the only good thing they have is no contract. I had this cable service for a little more than four months and in that time I went through 7 cable boxes. They only have old equipment that doesn't work and the internet service seemed to go out twice a week. My wife works remotely for a company out of Dallas so losing internet meant losing pay. After switching to dish network for cable and AT&T for internet my life's been a lot less stressful. read more

We try to call customer service and wait more than an hour and no tech support answers to assist. We go to the office and they say they'll send someone out in a week. I wanted to check out a new internet service and suddenlink was available in my area. I called to ask for pricing and plans. The amount of disrespect coming from customer service was ridiculous. She gave me pricing for TV+Internet after I told her 4 times that I only wanted internet. She had an attitude the whole time. She then continued to give pricing for internet and basically pressured me into getting one plan after I said I was looking for something cheaper. Their plans are overpriced and not worth the shitty service. I then began to tell her that I wasn't interested, she continued to hang up with out a "goodbye", "thank you for calling", NOTHING. Where do I begin? Do I start with how they cutoff the wifi because they didn't pay themselves with auto-pay, or how I paid them in person and they didn't turn it back on for what is now three days, the fact they wanted to send a "technician" out to check the wires but can't touch our modem (because they didn't supply it) even though they can reboot remotely with their own tech support line which I've done. Not only do they refuse to do their jobs by restoring our internet, but they want to charge us even more to send out said technician, and/or get a rental modem. I would give credit where it's due as far as internet speed goes, if it was actually reliable. Sadly I cannot do that, because of the aforementioned lack of common decency and service to formerly loyal customers. It is no wonder that they lack an actual phone number to talk to an actual person, because as it's been painfully made clear, they do not care about their customers at all. Sadly, one star is the minimum score that I can give on this site. If it were not so, I would go negative. One star because there is no lower rating available. As others have said, I too do not normally write negative reviews. However, I really do not have much recourse. For, there is no complaint department that I can find to get in touch with. My first experience with Suddenlink was about five years ago. TV cable programming was terrible. Simple things like no food network for that locality and the basic cable package was worse that what I could have pulled of the air with a plain old TV antenna. Internet service was terribly slow. Worse than DSL. Now, in Victoria, Texas I find my self using them again because the apartment complex told me that they were all that was available. They even handed me a card with the name of a business agent that would get us set up easily. What a fiasco! Between no shows and installation screw ups, it was a week before we got what we had asked for. They threw in a free phone number with it. Little did I know the sold my information to every fricken telemarketer out there. Now the damn thing rings non-stop with people trying to sell me something or telling me my computer has be hacked or some other rip off attempt But the most aggravating of all is that their program guide is completely false! You think you're going to watch your favorite program and it turns out to be an infomercial. Its painfully obvious to me that Suddenlink is more interested in making a buck at your expense than they are in providing a decent service. Do not use! Go by a TV antenna! read more

They have one answer- our computer won't let us do that. This is a terrible company, and the CS people are handcuffed by the terrible SW programs they have to deal with. CS used to be actual service- now everything you do costs. I have NEVER been credited for lost service from Hurrican Harvey in Aug. 2017, and calling in to talk to someone can be a 1/2 hour experience with no results. read more

Suddenlink is a horrible business to deal with. I've had a the main line in my backyard hanging 5 feet down for going on 7 months and it's caused my internet and phone to stop working repeatedly. I have called them at least 50 times over this time and can't get any help...now after 7 months of complaining to them the wire has completely failed and now I have no Internet, phone, or cable and they won't come out for another 3 days to fix it. I'm supposedly a "V.I.P" customer....I'd hate to see how they treat their regular customers. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. I have NEVER been more frustrated with a company that I paid money to in my life. My internet service worked maybe 3 full days out of the week, if I was lucky. When I would call to get my service fixed, after a series of automated machines, I would then be on hold for OVER an hour. Technicians were at my house at least once a month, and it wasn't unlikely for my internet to fail the day after the technician came to my home and "fixed" it. It was also very rare that I would get to talk to a real person, and when I did they could not answer my questions and would respond by saying "I can't help you with that, that's another department" and I would again be put on hold for an extended period of time. When I first signed on with Suddenlink 3 years ago, I didn't have a lot of issues and my bill was only $63.00 a month for internet services. After about 2 years I noticed a steady increase in my bill, once it reached $89.00 I called Suddenlink. They tried explaining that my initial cost was a "new customer cost" and every year the service gets more expensive in order to provide for the customers. Only after I threatened to cancel my service did they offer to "see what the can do" to get my bill lowered to $70 a month. In my 3rd year of having Suddenlink, my service really took a nose dive. I needed some re-wiring done at the house I just moved into, and after waiting a month for Suddenlink to come out they did a really poor job and left the wires exposed in the yard (I also pay an extra fee a month for insurance that covers re-wiring because I have destructive dogs that like to chew wires). After my Internet had been out for 4 days Suddenlink could get a technician to my house. While he was there he informed me that Suddenlink doesn't have their own technicians, they contract them out, so there is no standard for the quality of work that they do (hence the shoddy wiring I had done previously)! After my internet went out the day after the technician was at my home I decided to FINALLY give up on Suddenlink. I signed up with TISD and had them installed on January 7th, the same day I cancelled my Suddenlink service. I paid my last Suddenlink bill on January 14th and returned my rented modem to the Suddenlink store, the clerk confirmed that my service was cancelled. I received 2 phone calls from Suddenlink representatives trying to win back my services (to little to late). On January 27th I received an email that stated that I owed $79 due on 2/14/2019. I called Suddenlink billing to clarify that I did not owe them any money After talking to a call center in India, and 2 more employees that couldn't help me because they didn't want to send me an email because they have their last names in their email addresses...? And they had NO OTHER WAY to send me a hard copy of a letter that says I don't owe them money, even though I receive at least 2 letters in the mail a week from Suddenlink offering me special "New Customer Deals" (which I now know are fake), and begging me for service. Apparently it was impossible for this company to send me any kind of proof that I didn't owe them money. And because I had my checking account set up for automatic draft when I was a customer, I didn't trust that this horrible company wouldn't charge me anyways. I finally, after about 2 hours on the phone and 1 hour on hold, got to talk to a billing supervisor who assured me that I would get a letter in the mail on February 6th. This company is horrible. It will give you grey hair and high blood pressure dealing with the incompetent employees and extremely low quality services! Steer clear at all cost! I have been very happy with TISD so far, and my brother and my in-laws have Spectrum and they love their service! read more

The joke that Suddenlink "surveyed its customers to decide what channel to give us" is a farce. I never got surveyed and will be dropping the service, I suggest all Suddenlink customer do the same. People don't understand that Suddenlink just resells available programming. They must buy what is available. Viacom complains about how much money Suddenlink makes. Viacom make's even more and they force you to buy all their programs and drown's you in advertising to boot. I and many other viewer's want to buy what we want. I don't want one penny of my money being paid for programs that I do not want or want to support. Viacom offers only one program that is of interest to us here and Viacom won't sell it to us. We are happy that Suddenlink is standing up to Viacom. Maybe eventually the consumer will get what they want to pay for. read more
