I have been a long time Optimum customer. I recently upgraded to their Fiber internet with the 1G speed and it is fast compared to the older cable that we used to have. I actually would have given Optimum less than one star in this review, however, half a star isn't an option. That said, my experience with Optimum recently has been the worst! My bill increased by $160 in a months time. Yes, $160!!! The reason given by Optimum is that I lost all my promotions. After being a customer for two decades this is what they tell you. Additionally, I've spoken to several reps within Customer Support, Advanced Customer Support, techs, Retention and have gotten a different story each time about what my bill is going to be. Optimum has been the WORST. Now I'm told by switching over to Optimum Fiber, my bill will be even less ($200 less) for the same services. Can you believe this? Only time will tell. After endless phone calls and 6 (yes 6) visits from Optimum "technicians" since 12/24/23, they still have not solved the problem of unacceptably poor, often nonexistent, wifi connectivity (and we have a wifi extender). The wifi has actually gotten worse . Today, we had no wifi all day - none. The last "technician" who came said the previous guys didn't solve the problem - there is a moldy, wet "tap" that they attached a new cable to. Think they came to work on it? Not a chance. After yet another call to Optimum, they told us that everything is "fine on their end." For real? What a truly crappy company that deserves to go out of business. We are moving on to Verizon Fios and encouraging family and friends to do the same. read more

And now I learned there was a class action lawsuit against Altice (no surprise there). Apparently, as a former customer, I was automatically enrolled to receive some of this largesse. Hey, Optimum! Where is the rest of the $150.00 you charged me in March, 2023 for NON-SERVICE for the whole month with literally DAILY calls to report the outage? You conveniently never mentioned that part when I cancelled the service and you sent me to "Collections" (which never happened before). It is no wonder you were sued. Bergen County, NJ Optimum has cheated me out of months of the government-sponsored ACP (Affordable Connectivity Program) payments in recent months. As a senior, 74 years old, I was approved in Nov 2022 for internet discount as well as a cell phone (from another vendor) discount. My cell provider immediately responded but not Optimum - despite numerous calls to them where they promise that next month the discount will be provided. Each month I wait: no discount -- then they charge me a LATE FEE. The US gov't should investigate this company: I wonder if they are collecting these gov't subsides but not passing them along to subscribers ??? read more

Cable Vision I got them in my new place in July and now is September and I cancel with them they are the worst company ever they disconnect Offer you the world and try to resolve issues but they don't do nothing .I am not happy with Verizon gateway Internet causing me $300 for the year and I'm streaming 140 for the year for everything Cable Vision was over $1700 for the year if I would stay with them. Do the numbers and I am happy hundred percent satisfy. I told my friends family cancel Cable Vision and do what I did .stop getting ripped off by Cable Vision. I have had ongoing issues that haven't been resolved. This is going on for 2 months with 9 tech visits, including 3 no shows. My complaints go to an executive customer relations person who is unresponsive and doesn't know anything about the results of the service calls. I have already reported them to the BBB. Unfortunately my apartment building is only wired for Optimum or I would switch in a heartbeat! read more

So horrible. Had no internet since Thursday night. Our wire fell off and was told it'll take 48 hours to have someone come to the house and fix it. mind you we called them Friday night and was told this. We have not heard back from them so we called Sunday night. Was told again it'll take another 48 hours since they don't work weekends. (We were not informed about that) so cool, we waited and waited. I needed the WiFi because I work remotely and had asked multiple times if this can be escalate and was informed it will. It's Tuesday now and was told someone will come by around 5pm - 8pm. It's 8pm and received a call saying they had to cancel the appointment because they don't have any availed technicians. Called back customer service because at this point we're giving different answers. Now we're told we will receive a callback from a technician and they don't know when or what time. Yeah do not recommend. Nothing but horrible service. read more
