Whatever I did to it, it required medical attention and rather than clog the emergency department over my stupidity, I went here to the Mid State Mediquick Location. This place is fast, friendly and the staff from the physician assistants, nurses and medical assistants are very knowledgeable. After ruling out a fracture, they quickly wrapped my foot, gave me a walking boot of some sort that I probably wont wear, gave me a prescription for some pain meds and sent me on my merry way albeit hobbling along with crutches. Excellent location, I think I had to wait all of 5 minutes and everyone was so nice. Smarter choice than going and sitting in the emergency department and surely smarter than what I did to injure myself.

I was in a private room and started getting a little teary-eyed on my own when the pain got worse and the nurse noticed when she came to check on me. The doctor booked into the room a very short time later and quickly diagnosed me as having conjunctivitis in both eyes and an ear infection in both ears. The doctor was very sweet and asked if I was under a lot of stress since that type of thing doesn't typically happen all together, and she made a lot of excellent recommendations for avoiding cold liquids and sticking strictly with warm or room temperature drinks until I healed up. I have had a couple of ear infections since then and haven't had another doctor take time to mention that helpful tip since then. I'm not sure if the same staff is still there, but I greatly appreciated their concern and the time they took to make sure I had all of the info I needed to get better as quickly as possible.

I will never step foot in the place again…read more In the middle of Feb I went to the clinic as I was sick for a week. I most likely had the flu but but I'm not sure as they never did a swab or either the flu or anything else The doctor was pleasant but I guess he did ok. He spent a grand total of maybe 5 minutes with me. The whole visit was under 30 minutes from walking In to walking out. He doc gave me a prescription for a antibiotic claiming I probably had a sinus infection. Great I thought. I'll finally start to feel better. Fast forward 6 weeks later. The bill comes in over $500. What the heck. This is with insurance.

Where were you first thing in the morning on New Year's Day 2016? I was at the walk in, suffering…read morefrom the flu and double pinkeye. Fun times. If you're feeling miserable, that sucks. Going to the doctor sucks. However, this is the nicest walk in I've ever been to. I've been three separate times now and each time has been a great experience. No appointments are needed. When you walk in, there is a table on the right where you grab a number. Then you sit in the large and clean waiting room, watch some tv, and wait for them to call your number. You get all checked in and then wait to be called back by a nurse. When you walk in back, it's like a mini hospital. There is a station in the middle, surrounded by rooms. Everything is so clean and new, not dingy like some doctor's offices can be. They make good time on everything, get your symptoms documented, blood pressure, temp, pulse and then they send the doctor in. Every time I've been there, I was pretty sure walking in what was wrong with me. (Once back pain, twice with this flu, first time with pinkeye then an ear infection) They listened, gave a quick exam and prescribed medication to help with my symptoms as well as cure the illness. Best part? They are FAST. I've never been there more than 30 minutes, start to finish. That is amazing. Granted, twice, I was waiting there when the doors opened, so I was the first patient. But the other time i went, it was about 2 hours after opening and was just as fast. Other walk ins I've visited, I've always had to wait an eternity. Everyone here is really friendly too. Highly recommend if you find yourself feeling under the weather. They'll get you in and out quickly so that you can go back to bed!

Back to work in ONE hour... from urgent care. Yeah, I was shocked too…read more Walked in around 9am expecting the usual "bring snacks and cancel your day" situation... but nope. No appointment. Just vibes. Check-in? Quick. Testing? Quick. Staff? Actually friendly (not the fake "next please" energy). Only ONE person ahead of me, plenty of parking, clean, quiet, and fully staffed. No chaos. No attitude. No long wait. And somehow... my prescription was already sent to my pharmacy before I even got back to my car?? Like okay efficiency I'm not saying all urgent cares should be like this... but why aren't they?? If you know, you know. And if you don't... now you do.

I am extremely disappointed with the care I received…read more After I was diagnosed with a broken bone, this walk-in referred me to an orthopedic office. Their doctor told me the orthopedic office should contact me within a few days but they didn't. While I was waiting, I called the walk-in a couple of times because I still had not heard from the orthopedic office. I was met with short, dismissive responses and comments that they would not prescribe pain medication, even though I never called asking for pain medication and never requested any. I also did not want any pain meds. After waiting several days, the orthopedic office finally called me and informed me that they do not accept my insurance. I called the walk-in to explain the situation and was told to find an orthopedic office that accepted my insurance and call back with the office's fax number so Hartford HealthCare could send the referral. I then spent hours calling different orthopedic offices until I found one that agreed to see me. That ortho office knew I had previously been referred elsewhere and told me they simply needed Hartford HealthCare's walk-in clinic to fax them a new referral. When I called the walk-in back with the fax number, I was told they would not help me or send the referral. The receptionist repeatedly stated that they "cannot and will not help." As the conversation continued, she became increasingly short, raised her voice, and was dismissive. It was the same receptionist that made comments about me seeking pain meds. My actual concern was that I had been experiencing intermittent numbness, tingling, pins and needles, burning, waves of a cold sensation in my hand, and intense pain following the fracture. I was trying to get the referral sent to an orthopedic office that accepted my insurance and obtain guidance about symptoms that were concerning me. Instead, I was left without an orthopedic referral and without clear direction about what to do next. After spending days waiting for the original referral and then hours finding a provider who accepted my insurance, I became overwhelmed and frustrated. Toward the end of the call, I said, "What the f*** do I do then?" and asked for the receptionist's name. She told me she was ending the call because I had sworn, and then hung up. I acknowledge that I swore out of frustration, but the profanity was not directed at or used to insult the receptionist. It came after repeated contradictory instructions, dismissive responses, and being told that they could not and would not assist me. The lack of communication, contradictory instructions, and dismissive attitude made an already stressful situation significantly worse. I understand that healthcare workers deal with difficult situations every day, but patients with broken bones who are trying to follow the instructions they were given deserve clear communication, professionalism, and continuity of care. Update: I ultimately went to the emergency department because I was concerned about my symptoms. I was seen promptly, the splint applied by the walk-in was removed and replaced, and I was given a referral to an orthopedic specialist. After the splint was replaced, my hand and finger movement improved, along with my other symptoms. I was also told that the original splint was too tight and was likely contributing to the symptoms I had been experiencing. Also want to note: before going to the emergency department, the walk-in receptionist I spoke to earlier today told me I did not need to go to the ER. I am glad I sought additional medical evaluation because it was actually a serious matter after-all, the emergency department addressed my symptoms, replaced my splint, and provided the orthopedic referral I had been trying to obtain.
