We had never heard of this place and last minute I saw a post that Wade Hayes, my favorite artist, would be playing there the next evening. We bought tickets on their website, which was a nice website that was very easy to use and the best part is no Ticketmaster fees, only a five dollar handling fee! The ticket cost was spot on, very affordable, even for a family. The venue itself was very clean and well laid out. Not a bad seat in the building. The sound was great. Set up with lights and video. Very nice! From the time you pull into the parking lot to park, you have people directing you where to park, where to go and everybody was super friendly. There is a lot of staff that keep lines moving and all were very friendly. During set change over I was surprised that they had two people working the women's bathroom line and let me tell you it moved quickly! Wade Hayes was amazing and we both agreed that the house band, Orange Blossom, Opry band was incredibly good. They are worth the trip there just to watch them. They were also the band played for Wade and did a great job. After the show we were able to get autographs and pictures, which is always a nice bonus. They have food and drinks available. The hotdogs were really good., only like $4 each, water is just $2, a pop is $4. I had a root beer float and that was $6. Dinner for two was $16, not bad! Overall, it was a great experience, and we are going to start paying attention to this great little gem. We just recently missed out on some good shows and it looks like there are some more really good shows coming up. We had been meaning to attend a show here for a long time. It is much more convenient than Orlando venues, and a half-hour closer than one we like to go to in Ocala. So finally we got tickets to see Rhonda Vincent, a bluegrass performer and band we have seen many times. This is a good venue. We had great seats near the front, but there are no "nosebleed" seats or obstructed views as far as I could tell. They sell drinks and snack items. They get a lot of big classic country music names here, as well as tribute acts. read more

We have now visited three times. Altogether, an average of 5, although some shows are better than others. (As in so much of life!) Just sayin' 1 1) that's not under OBS control and 2) if you like the type of music before you go you'll be happy with the band/tribute while you're there. Which seems obvious, but sometimes... What IS under OBS control is done very very well. Employees are courteous. Sight lines from all seats are excellent, and seats themselves comfortable. You are not crammed in like sardines, and there is legroom. Acoustics, lighting, and video are professional. I would like to see a bit of improvement in food/snacks - but perhaps that's just me as there is always a line for both. The house band is solid - and I have a greater appreciation for them each time I go. Bobby Randall (Confederate RR and Sawyer Brown) is a personable leader, and the other members are solid performers. You get about an hour of them before your purchased 'act' comes on.... Unless of course you are purchasing a Concert that just IS the house band. The last few times we've been there's been a 'onesie" act out front for a lead in performance - we've enjoyed them too. Tickets run $30 to $50 on average. It is easy to pay far more in Central FL and receive far less. Owned by locals, you are supporting the community, and they held tough during COVID. For a small venue that's located between two large cities this is the ideal area for taking in a concert or two. Matinee as well as evening performances. Most of the shows lean towards country but every now and then there'll be a pop group interspersed during the year. What ever your type of music though, you can find pretty decent names here. This was originally an elementary school gym. Seats, a stage, lighting, etc. were added to make it what it is today. Down home personnel makes it even a more enjoyable experience. If you have a need to munch while you're in the country they have a decent snack bar inside that aside from snacks, offer daily homemade sandwiches for only $3! read more

The Orange Blossom Opry is in the middle of nowhere near Ocala. What a treat for a venue. About two hours from Jacksonville, FL, this place is a music lovers dream. Intimate and a place where listening to music is really enjoyable. I have been twice. Once to see The Loving Spoonful and Sawyer Brown. Upcoming shows are Lorrie Morgan, The Gatlin Brothers, Exile, and Restless Heart. Well worth the drive and be sure to have dinner at Gator Joe's on Lake Weir. read more

Attended a show Saturday night. A number of offensive 'jokes' during the show led me to conclude that if you're a person of color, or gay, prepare to be offended or even fearful. I'm neither but felt very uncomfortable throughout the show. The vibe is 1960's intolerance. All of that is unfortunate because the house band is top shelf and the venue is cool. read more

Truly, Truly a hidden gem of a concert hall way out in the country. Caters mostly to the Senior, Blue Hair Crowd from the Villages and surrounding Lake County area. BUT If you really like all genres of music, or want to see some of the "LEGENDS" of music's past this is the place. I will say if you are a fan of Classic Country, Oldies Rock or just want to catch one of the many local acts performing here it's a great little spot. Located inside the gymnasium of a former school from the 20's or 30's they have built out a concert hall to accommodate about 700+ plus and a little snack bar area. The "BIG NAME" acts are mostly Hall of Fame'rs from Country Music and older acts that still travel and or perform a few dates a year. Sort of the Florida version of the Grand Ole Opry or Branson Missouri with only the one venue. I had the pleasure of seeing country music legend Mel Tillis perform here, for you younger folks reading this he's in just about every music hall of fame that deals with Country Music and or songwriting. He did two shows one in the later afternoon, and then another in the early evening both were about 3 hours each and covered all his classic songs. Both shows were Sell Outs. Plus afterwards he stays to meet and greet all his fans, take photo's, talks with you and signs autographs. Which is what most of the performers do but you can tell these people really care about the fans, and will take all the time needed to make sure they meet everyone in line. It's off the path for the most part, if you are not local to the area and you better map it before you head out as you would not think as you are driving there that you are not going to end up anywhere, except in the middle of no where! I drove out from Orlando for lunch and found a few spots within about 20 minute drive to the venue. I will HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend the Orange Blossom Opry. If you ever want to see what a country music legend is or you have older relatives that enjoy older music you can't miss with this place. Ticket's are reasonable in price as well. Heck if you can't find someone to go with you to check out a music legend let me know. I just may travel out there with you, It's that good! read more

Love this place. I drive 2 1/2 hours to hear my favorite singers from the past. Gene Watson, Moe Bandy Mickey Gilley with Johnny Lee to name a few. They had there big hits years ago but sound fantastic today. Love the orange Blossom Opry band as well. I could listen to them all night. Keep up the great work. read more

To start with, I am not a true country music lover, but the OBO I love. They have a wide variety of performers and this place represents the best entertainment value, dollar for dollar one can receive. There is not a bad seat in the 600+ seating theater. Many of the performers had top 10 "pop/rock" hits back in the 60's or 70's that I had no idea who recorded that hit until I saw them at OBO. The lead-in band, The Orange Blossom, are great musicians! One of the best shows for the buck is the 3rd Thursday of the month, Super Jam session. $10.00. About 15-20 pre-selected performers from the audience perform 2 numbers and are backed up by OBO band. read more

This place is a true gem. Not what you would expect for someplace pretty well in the middle of nowhere, FL. The house band is better than most traveling bands and we have gone just to see them play a number of times. The list of big names that come to OBO is very impressive, though most may be a bit past their performing prime they still sound great and you aren't paying the rates for tickets at a 30,000 seat venue. Major focus on country music but a good diverse offering overall. A very family friendly place. read more

I gave it 2 stars because we attended a concert yesterday afternoon 01/20/18 to see Mickey Gilly. For two the price was $112.00. No handicap parking available as the majority of people are over 75. The show was pitiful. They literately carried MG on stage and set him up on a chair. His voice is totally gone. I am a big big fan but I wish I had never seen him because now thats the way I will remember him. Shame on OBO for having this show. We have tickets for Bellamy Brothers but we may not attend. Watch out for tribute bands! I thought I bought tickets to see the real Everly Brothers but I just found out it was really tribute band tickets. The ad I saw did not say tribute band although other bands in the same ad did say tribute band. I called for a refund and was told no refunds and that the ad did say The Everly Brothers Experience. I guess "experience" is code name for "tribute band". No wonder they don't give refunds. I wonder how many other people get tricked like I did! read more
