We've been here as Harvest Host guests in our RV several times now. I make it a point to reserve here whenever we arrive to/leave from Central Florida because it is so enjoyable. We are always greeted warmly, parked strategically, and had the details explained to us upon arrival. Because our motorhome is 40' we have to park sideways so cannot see the movies out of the windshield as you would in a car, but we put out our lawn chairs and raised dog bed outside the rig and listen on our FM radio. We do tie the pups off to a post in front of us because others with dogs often park or walk nearby and ours are a bit too friendly. When the ticket booth opens, we pay for our tickets and concession voucher. The muffulettas and popcorn are both excellent! We were told we could run our generator before/after the movies but not during...worked out perfectly for us! Although our rig is self contained and didn't use them, bathrooms were nearby and open through the night. The even projected a free Valentines message between films as long as it was received a few days prior. Note: if you don't plan to listen from your car, you do need an FM radio...I don't think they have any of the old-fashioned window hanging speakers. read more

If it's your first time like us - it's an experience but only good for the one time! When you arrive, there are two lines. The left is for movie 1 and the right is for movie 2. We accidentally lined up incorrectly and got a whole lecture how to read the signs. After paying $6 each and being charged an automatic $10 food voucher, we parked. The ladies working the concession stand are so rude. There's a sign that basically says "don't line up if you don't know what you want." The popcorn had been popped earlier so it wasn't warm and way too salty. The soda was flat, and the mozzarella sticks were again, salty. Apple Pay doesn't work! Movie started at 8pm and it was still daylight outside. The screen was still dark that no one could actually see the movie until an hour later. The instructions were to turn off the lights and engine, but the people around us had their engines on so the exhaust kept flowing through the lot. I wish there was an attendant that enforced the rules. Overall, it's an experience but they need to do better. I guess this is what $22 gets us. read more

We come here all the time for family outings. We drive an hour and a half a half because where else do you find a drive in. Fancy? No. Perfect for families? Yes. Good for a date? Yes. Sometimes we stay in our car (summer), sometimes we sit in chairs in the grass. The cost is so much better than the regular theater. The pizza deal is perfect for families. read more

Our family was driving through Ocala and we wanted to stop by Ocala Drive-In for the experience as our family had never been to a drive in before. First, the good: the ticket prices were very reasonable, although you are forced to also buy a $10 food voucher. This would be ok if the concessions were good, and unfortunately it was not. We ordered the pizza, cheese fries, popcorn, cheeseburger and a roast beef po'boy, and the only things that were edible were the cheese fries and popcorn. The pizza and cheeseburger tasted like cafeteria food from middle school. The screen quality for the movie "Sinners" shown on screen 2 was also not very good. I wonder why the owner doesn't invest in better quality screens for a drive in? The sound quality, however, was excellent. Overall, this was a unique experience and could be a 5 star if the food and screen quality of the drive-in are improved in the future. read more

Listen I wasn't expecting the greatest experience, but man was it old time fun!!! It was our first time there and it's family fun. The gates open about an hour before the movie. I'd suggest arriving during that time to order food and park! The cost is $6 pp plus a $10 fee for food at the concession stand. There are two entrances right next to each other depending on what movies / screen you want. Screen one is larger than screen two. But both are super fun! You tune in on your radio. Bring chairs and sit outside. There were kids running around playing soccer, teens on dates and hanging with friends , couples on date nights and groups of friends! It was so fun! The concession takes some time but everything is reasonably priced and fried. (What could go wrong?) overall if you are looking for a night out that won't break the bank and you don't mind it being old fashion, this is the place to Go! Plus they allow your pup to attend as long as they are part of the family! read more

Lived in Florida nearly my whole 30+years of my life and finally got to sit in an old fashion drive in theater. We came right when they opened at 6pm for a 7 o'clock showing during this month (December). After ordering our delicious burgers at the concession stand we settled in and tuned into the specific channel for the screen we were on. We loved our experience and our two year was so amazed she could watch a movie on the big screen yet hear it from the car speakers. We loved the burgers that were peppery and tasty while our daughter had the chicken nuggets from the kids menu. You do receive a $10 voucher when you pay for your tickets at the front that will be used as part of your concession purchase which is a great deal. Highly recommend coming and bring family and friends to see a movie and enjoy a slice of the good ol' days. read more

A unique, retro experience back to a time before 4k and imax. You don't have to put speakers on your window like back in the day, but everything else...even the commercial cartoons for the snack bar...feels authentic. First time drive-in experience. Overall, super fun and will do again. However, 15 minutes into the movie the ticket guy comes to our car and belittles us for not "listening and parking between the white poles instead of the yellow poles" It's dark out. You know how close yellow and white look in the dark?? He completely turned the mood around and it took me awhile to let it go and enjoy our date again. Simple mistake when it's dark outside. Next time be obvious about the poles instead of being a jerk to people. He easily could've given us a heads up. Wish there were more places like this. Watching classic films in the comfort of your own car was priceless. Awesome price for their double feature they offered. The food service was quick and the whole movie viewing experience was great. They took precautions as well to keep social distancing in affect and their employees made sure to wear masks. This was my first visit. This is the only drive in that I know of in North Florida. I felt like I was stepping back in time. It has a really neat deal. We came for a special event, which was over $100 for a car of 6 people or less. I noticed that normal prices are $6/adult and $3/kids. That's a phenomenal price! The concession stand cheese pig in a blanket was so good! All concession stand prices are incredibly reasonable ($4.50 for a large popcorn!). They did a great job with COVID precautions sectioning off car spots, having the concession stand socially distanced, and providing restrooms and hand washing stations. The two reasons the drive in in Ocala didn't get a 5 star is 1. they allow smoking on property and 2. the owner went over the loudspeaker twice blessing everyone out for sitting in the fenced off areas and bringing outside food into the drive in, specifically pointing out a family for public embarrassment. Good management and ownership would put a different policy into place that didn't include public humiliation. 2017's Yelp 100 Challenge 89/100 My boyfriend have been doing the "ABC's" of dating, & I decided to do the "D" date and chose this drive in. Now, there are like ZERO drive in theaters in Orlando, so this was nearly a two hour drive, but well worth it. You get to watch a double feature for half the price of a movie at a traditional theater, AND the concessions are super cheap (med popcorn was less than $4). The only thing I can call out that made this a less than stellar outing, was the fact that during the pre-show they have a little advertisement that plays on the screen telling folks to go to the concession stand, well at the end of it what I can assume is the owner, starts talking about how the money we pay for the movie doesn't go to the Ocala drive in, it goes to the movie company, & in order to support them, we need to go to the concession stand. It sounded a little aggressive to me, & my boyfriend said it kinda made him feel guilty. Lol. Also, the screens were set up at weird angles (or maybe it was how everyone parked?) & I haven't been to a drive-in in problem 15 years, so watching in the car and being able to just relax and not overhear anyone's conversation was the best thing ever! I love this drive-in theater for many reasons: 1) $6 per person - I noticed folks saying it was $7 for them maybe that's for the summer season. Regardless, that is WAY cheaper than any regular movie theater. It's also CASH ONLY! 2) Recent movies - I know that you may think they show old movies for that price, but I just went with a friend to see Moana and the Arrival. Those movies are currently out! 3) Huge Screens - They have 2 big screens, which show movies simultaneously. You pick a screen and tune in to the radio station if you are sitting in your car. ***Tip: Make sure to read the radio station channels when you pay at the entrance. 4) Two for One - You can stay for one or two movies. I recommend to stay for the 2. They won't kick you out to stay for another movie. You can even switch between Screen 1 and Screen 2, but you're not supposed to... 5) Inside or Outside: You can enjoy the movie inside your car and tune in to the radio station as I mentioned before. Or you can bring a couple of chairs and enjoy the weather and night sky. Sit on the bed or back of your trunk or on a blanket. ****Tip: Things to bring: a) Bug Spray. I sat in my car and rolled the windows down. We got bit quite a good amount of times. b) Blankets. If you get cold and wanna cuddle with your boo blankets are always nice to sit on or keep you warm. c)Cash only d) Pillows. If you wanna stay in your car and recline the seats. I encourage pillows to elevate your head and to keep you comfortable. From the distance, you can see a Fun Center for kids to play before the movie. I only saw a bounce house, but on their informercials before the movie they talk about a game room. Also, they sell food there. I love having th option to go see a movie at the Drive In. As a child my family would often go to the Drive In. We would meet other families, and have a blast. I was very thankful that when we moved to Ocala I was able to continue this tradition. Attending the Drive In while in High School with family and friends. I also took my own children along with their friends while they were growing up. Everyone would pile in our big van and off we'd go. I'm now so happy to say that I am now taking my Grandchildren. We had our first experience at the Drive In last week and they ALL LOVED IT and are asking when we our going back. I will admit that there were some new challenges for me like trying to figure out how to turn my interior car lights off with the hatch up and keeping the radio playing. I kinda miss the speakers that attaced to my window. LOL It will not stop us from returning again to enjoy a fun night and a long time family tradition that I am so blessed to continue with my family............ You really can't beat it! Listen, you get TWO NEW movies for $6 per adult. Can we just take a moment to appreciate that for a second? It's even less for kids, but I don't have any and therefore never visit the drive in with kids so I'm not 100% sure, but I think kids are $3 each. Since my first visit I've been hooked! So far I've seen Happy Death Day, Flatliners, Venom, A Simple Favor, Goosebumps: Haunted Halloween, and A Star Is Born. I'm anxious and excited to see Halloween this weekend. I also love that they are open seven days a week! There's something so invigorating about watching movies on a big screen outside under the stars (especially in the fall). I worry a little bit about my car battery because you have to use your radio to listen to the audio, but I start my car a few times and give it a break during intermission. They do have outdoor speakers, but it's very hard to hear in your car unless you park just right. The food is mediocre, but I respect their wishes not to bring in outside food and we always buy their popcorn and a drink and sometimes nachos and hot pretzels. I love hot soft pretzels with cheese and they have them here. I wish the popcorn was tastier and I wish they had a bigger selection of candy. Overall it is not bad and it's worth it to have some snacks during the films. The staff has always been friendly and respectful despite being very busy. The restrooms are pretty dated and could use some repairs. Currently there's a door missing from the handicapped women's room and there are two regular stalls. This is not good for busy nights, but you make do. Their prices are very fair and they probably can't afford too much upkeep. I most definitely feel that the pro's certainly outweigh the slight cons. It's truly wonderful to enjoy a drive in when so few exist. I would rather watch a movie on a big screen under the stars than on my phone or a freezing cold, dark overpriced theater with a room full of chatty people on their phones. read more

This venue is a real treat. For $7 the drive in let's you watch 2 movies. They make most of their money on concession which is why they can be generous with their ticket prices. The concessions are also more reasonably priced than a traditional movie theaters concessions, with no tax charged and half price refills on drinks. I was wondering how you would hear the movie with so many other cars and from a large distance. But they play the movies audio through a radio channel. Me and my Fiance come here for the experience! We Love the Drive In and the burgers I love the price EVERYTHING is half the amount of a regular theater the popcorn the sodas the movie! The 2 screens they have play a total of 4 movies each night 2 on each screen at different times you get alot of space between cars and the screen is extremely visible from any spot we listen to the movie from the Car Radio and the Signal Is STRONG NO STATIC it sounds like we are in an actual theater in the car and your not disturbed you can't hear nothing outside the car I mainly love the fact that I get to watch TWO movies for the price of one ticket for adults $6 + 2 movies= best affordable outing ever read more
