I understand everybody has a bad day, but our experience was pretty much ruined from the start by the attitude of the Guide: Sandi. We followed her instructions to enter her place and wait for her to arrive with the horses. Since it was hot I took shelter under a nearby tree (far away from her actual house). She arrived yelling and cursing at me for going near her house and upsetting her dogs. I was nowhere near her house, nor did she specify in her lengthy instructions that we should stay rooted to one spot when we arrived. Certainly, I had no idea I was doing something wrong. While I have no doubt, she has the right temperament for dealing with horses this does not automatically translate to people. I found her to be very abrasive, dismissive, uninterested and frankly not suitable for people will little to no horseback experience. The trail itself was non-descript and not particularly interesting. Sandi spent the entire time in front chatting with one of her regular visitors, no problem with that but her attitude towards as newbies was quite unpleasant. To her credit she did warm up a bit towards the end, but this wasn't a cheap experience so to be honest I was very disappointed. I wish Sandi well because I understand it's not an easy operation to run, nevertheless I think it's important people understand what to expect before booking. read more

I took my daughter horseback riding here, but I didn't exactly enjoy the experience. This woman (owner) didn't do anything to try to match anyone's personality with the right horse! Didn't have anyone trailing behind us, in case a horse gets spooked and rears up on anyone! Has NO patience with people! Likes to argue!! Needs to refrain from speaking politics with customers, as well as issues on topics that people actually got their degree in!! She doesn't know how to "agree to disagree" and I didn't go there for that! I went to take my daughter horseback riding, for her birthday and this woman made it challenging and MISERABLE!! I should be able to leave there, wanting to go back again, but I won't dare do that!! I'll go where they have "real" experience with giving trail rides and doing business, with people!!! Also, if you read her responses to all those who gave a bad review, it should speak volumes!! Her immaturity is LOUD! She lies and tries to direct fault everywhere else, but on herself! The horses are very sweet and happy, they were friendly and gentle with guests. They were well trained and the owner gave simple instructions for guiding the horses. Customer service could have been improved, specifically organization and interactions with customers. The horses were not saddled upon arrival and by the time everyone was in a horse, over 45 minutes had passed. Therefore we were only able to ride for about 40 minutes. The way the owner spoke to some of the other participants made both my mom and I uncomfortable, talking condescendingly to the young girls and an older woman. If you are looking for an experience to ride a horse, this would do fine. If you are looking for great customer service and gentle natured guides, look elsewhere. read more

Edited down to 1 star instead of 2 because the business owner's response to my review was to suggest that I "knock my kid into next week." Wow. Just wow. The rest of her response was complete lies and absurdity. No one did anything to hurt the horses and we treated the animals with nothing but respect, unlike Sandi herself who everyone witnessed hit one of her horses in the face, painfully poke another in the ribs, and spend 10 minutes before the ride telling everyone how stupid all the horses are, which proves right there you know nothing about them, because they are smarter than you'll ever be. On top of that she gave both my kids tree branches and tried to encourage them to hit the horses with them which they were obviously very uncomfortable doing. Sandi is not worthy of the privilege of being around such amazing creatures. I hope no one else is unfortunate enough to visit this so called business. Sandi was pretty rude and condescending to everyone and was mean to my son right at the start of our ride, which started 20 minutes late. I almost called it quits because of the way she was treating him, but we stuck with it and ended up having an alright time as the tour guide's mood seemed to improve. Her attitude definitely put a damper on what was up until that point a super fun vacation, and my son really didn't have a good time which is really unfortunate because we started put the day pretty excited about this excursion. Not the best experience to say the least... the lady was rude and complained the entire time. She got mad that her horses would stop and eat grass, and would fuss at us for it. Yelled at the horses constantly while getting ready. Fussed at my sister because her knee went across her "suede saddle that's super nice" while getting off the horse. We did not hesitate to leave as soon as we got back. I've read her responses on google to bad reviews and they are appalling. We will NOT be returning. I had a lovely ride with my 7&8 year old girls. They had only ever been in a horse while someone walked the horse on lead. Sandi choose the perfect horses and held a lead on a trail ride through the Ocala National Forest. At the end when both girls were comfortable they got to ride on their own. It was a great confidence booster snd the girls has a wonderful time. I would definitely recommend and look forward to coming back with the girls. read more

This was by far one of the WORST experiences I have ever had! When it comes to a place of business first impressions say a lot about not only about the business but about the person who owns it as well. The fences are all broken, the yard where you have to park is trashed, and the lady was very rude and her mannerisms were everything except professional. She raised her voice at me mid ride and said "did i not just tell you not to let the horse eat!!" when there was nothing i could do to stop the horse at that point. Her personal horse then begins to start eating and she said "if you do that again i'm going to kick you in the nose!!" She then continued to forcefully stab her thumb into her horses stomach and yell at it for 2 minutes because it wouldn't park for her. Not only that but when we got back to the front pasture, she told everyone to step off to our left, which i did but since i was losing my balance i touched my knee to her saddle to catch myself from falling and her only concern was her saddle not her customer. Her words to me were "Don't put your nasty shoes on my nice saddle! That is suede and very expensive I don't need your grimy shoes on it!" and i politely responded by saying "yes ma'am, i used my knee because i was losing my balance" and she said " i don't care it's the same thing." *keep in mind I had brand new tennis shoes on and clean clothes* it was completely uncalled for. I would highly recommend any other place for families to go, please save your money and go somewhere besides here. This lady is crazy and "welcomes you" with such an unwelcoming attitude. read more

Do NOT waste your time and money! My friend and I drove 2 hours to get there and she wouldn't let him ride because he didn't want to wear a helmet. It is not required by law unless you are under age 16. No where on her website did it say they were mandatory. She has since added it to her website because she knew we were going to write a review. I told her I still wanted to ride and will wear a helmet but she said no, you should leave because I don't want him sitting here on my property while we ride. She told me she would refund MY ride since she specifically asked me to leave. She has NOT refunded one dime! 2 hours and $240 dollars gone! Please read the other negative reviews. I wish I would have listened to them! Also, I think she wouldn't let my friend ride because he pointed out the terrible sunburn on one of her donkeys and his split hoof. My friend is a trucker and is considering putting a banner on the side of his truck, as he drives all over the country, saying how this place sucks! read more

If I could leave ZERO stars I would. This was the absolute worst horseback riding experience I have ever had. I told her I had experience riding, but no matter what I tried to do to please her she continued to belittle my husband and I. The other couple riding told me they were furious at how she spoke to her husband as well, and planned to leave reviews along with myself. Not only did we get started an hour late, but she was EXTREMELY condescending, rude, and unprofessional (As you can see by her response to my google review). I told her i went by my middle name Andrese, but I could see it wasn't worth explaining again to her when she didn't seem to hear me. I smiled but kept my distance from her after her continuous belittling, and it was obvious to her I was not talking anymore. Avoid this place at all costs...especially if you have children. If she talked to my kids the way she talked to my husband and the other gentleman I don't know what i would have felt. Unless you want to watch someone be rough with their horses and belittle you and your family the entire time. I sincerely hope she will attempt to give other riders a better experience--as we don't own horses for a reason, we aren't pros and we don't pay a so-called professional so that they can talk to us like idiots. examples below: -my husband had a horse go to close to the fence and tried to lead it away when she turned around and very aggressively yelled at him for trying to tear up her expensive saddle pieces (I was so shocked I literally thought she was talking to the horse, not him). -during a trot, my husbands horse kicked another. She immediately yelled at my husband for this. As she was turning her horse to yell "what the hell are you doing?" Her horse spooked mine and it jumped sideways causing her to turn and yell at me "i told you not to pass my horse! stop your horse! you told me you were experienced but clearly not!" -she repeatedly snapped at the retired Military gentleman for not paying attention, not controlling his horse, not doing what she told him to do. -she also cussed several times at us and her horses. Very unprofessional and some would consider her borderline emotionally abusive. my husband is too nice to take up for himself, but I will not delete my review because I want others to be warned and not waste their money--discounted or not! She may act as if she's booked, but as I mentioned there was only one other couple with us making a total of four! read more

We had an absolutely wonderful time with Sandy and her horses. My husband and I took our children for my daughter's 9th birthday. We have four kids ageing from 7-11 and we are all first time riders. Most of us were very nervous at first! Sandy made us very comfortable and got us going on our group trail ride quicker then I expected. Her horses were great with the children and understanding of our lack of knowledge in riding. I can tell they are each loved and cared for, they absolutely love their job. On December 29, 2020 my family of 5 (my wife and I and three children, who I refer to as "son" (13 years old), "middle daughter" (11 years old), and "youngest daughter" (8 years old) went to Orange Blossom Ranch in Dunnellon, Florida. The time was approximately 2 pm EST. The owner and guide is "Sandi" (Sandra Johnson). We told Sandi we were inexperienced riders. We documented this in a waiver we signed. We began a ride with Sandi with another family from NJ (a mother and father and a 12 year old boy). We started from a point I will hereby refer to as "starting point." There were no other guides helping us at any point of the trip. At the beginning of the ride a pony named "Thunder" ran after us and started walking with us on the trail. Sandi told it to go home but Thunder did not listen. It remained with us for the entirety of the trail ride until the last quarter mile to return to the starting point. At this time Thunder was separated from us. Sandi decided to leave the group as a guide and go and get Thunder. There were no other guides with us. There were no other guides waiting for us at the starting point. She told us to not move while she did this. Some of us managed to control our horses and wait for her while others were unable to control the horses who started to walk or trot back to the starting point. While going back to the house one of the horses ridden by the woman from NJ started galloping at a great pace. The woman from NJ riding this horse fell off. I observed this as I was behind her on my own horse. I also observed her son fall off of his horse. My own horse bolted and started galloping at a great pace as well. After intense pulling and telling it to stop my horse finally stopped after approximately thirty seconds. I lost my prescription glasses and my wife's sunglasses because the horse was galloping so quickly. I then observed my son who had apparently gotten off his horse running to me saying that the woman from NJ fell and was not moving. I moved to the woman from NJ who was motionless on the ground to help her. I perceived that she had lost consciousness. I then saw that my middle daughter had reached the end and wanted to check on her. I asked my wife who is a physician to look after the woman. At the time my wife was also taking care of our youngest daughter. Sandi was walking nearby away from the starting point. Sandi did nothing to help the woman from NJ who had fallen off her horse as she walked by her. She mentioned to my wife that she had found her glasses. I asked Sandi to help get my youngest daughter and wife off their respective horses. After Sandi did this and led the two horses previously ridden by my wife and daughter and my horse to the starting point of the trail ride. She helped me dismount from my horse. At that point I saw my middle daughter who was at the starting point holding her arm. A woman who was waiting for the next ride was helping my middle daughter said that my daughter fell off the horse. The woman from NJ was walking and her husband came to take care of her. I motioned for my family of 5 to get into our car and go to the hospital quickly to tend to my middle daughter's arm. My family of 5 got into our car and started searching for the nearest hospital. We called and went to the emergency room in Bayfront Health Seven Sisters in Chrystal River, Florida. It was a twenty minute drive from Orange Blossom Ranch. The time was approximately 5 pm when we arrived at Bayfront Health Seven Sisters. We waited for my daughter to be seen at Bayfront Health Seven Sisters. We were told the hospital was very busy tending to patients suffering from COVID-19. My daughter's arm was X-rayed. My daughter suffered a fractured humerus and was told by the treating nurse practitioner to put my daughter's arm in a sling for two months. We left the hospital at 8 pm. read more
