I came to Dr. Bastani after a foot injury that was later diagnosed as an intra-articular fracture. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling rushed and unsupported throughout my care. From the start, I had to push for an MRI when my symptoms weren't improving, which he at first kept claiming was unnecessary. When the MRI finally showed a fracture, Dr. Bastani told me he didn't believe it -- that it was probably a radiology error because he had ordered a "lower-grade" MRI. He wanted me to just ignore the diagnosis. I had to advocate for myself again just to get him to follow up with the radiologist. He eventually ordered a CT scan, which confirmed the fracture. Even after that, he didn't offer a clear treatment plan. When I asked whether I should continue walking on the injury or be immobilized, his advice was essentially "It's 50/50 -- you can choose." I felt like I was being left to make medical decisions alone without proper guidance. I was told that Dr. Bastani follows a "conservative" approach, but in my experience, that felt more like avoidance than thoughtful care. When I brought up valid concerns about long-term joint health and arthritis, I wasn't given a clear plan --that isn't what conservative care should look like. Conservative medicine should still involve communication, reassurance, and a willingness to guide the patient. Instead, I was left to carry the uncertainty on my own. Every visit felt rushed, and I never felt like he took the time to understand my full history or concerns. With a nerve injury already affecting my gait, and a fracture that involved a joint, I needed someone willing to look at the full picture -- not someone who seemed eager to move to the next patient. I wouldn't recommend Dr. Bastani to anyone dealing with a complex injury or long-term healing concerns. In the end, I sought a second opinion that gave me a much clearer understanding of my healing status and a more personalized recovery plan. If you have a straightforward injury, Dr. Bastani may work for you, but if you have concerns that require clear communication, detailed care, or support navigating something more than a basic sprain, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. read more

Your feet are in good hands with Orange County Foot & Ankle Group! We've been to both locations (Fullerton & Tustin) and they are great! The staff is so nice and scheduling is very easy, they've been able to accommodate us with emergency appointments/same day as well. What I really love about this office is that there is an on-call doctor! Very few doctors offices have someone on call, they usually just tell you to go to the ER on a recorded message. Here's how we got to OCFAG... In April my mom came home from the hospital and she said her toe started hurting, it turned purple and was causing her extreme pain, I went online via her insurance and found them on a list. They were the first doctors office I called and they got her in right away. Dr. Lejuene was extremely pleasant, kind and thorough! He knew right away she had an infected ingrown toenail. He numbed her very well and removed it within minutes! He gave us aftercare instructions and sent us on our way with oral antibiotics. I was following the instructions and giving her the medicine, but unfortunately about 10 days later, my mom's toe became black and purple, bleeding and her skin was peeling in layers exposing her flesh. This happened on a Saturday evening and a on-call doctor (I believe his name was Dr. Tam Nguyen) I sent him the pictures of her toe and he said to get her to the ER asap, he even got in touch with the hospital which was very nice (most out of network doctors that aren't contracted with Hoag they don't communicate with HOAG doctors or the ER while the patient is in their hospital.) He emailed me back while we were in the ER (almost at 4AM, that is true dedication) My mom was diagnosed with osteomyelitis (she did come home a few days later with a PICC line). Dr. Lejuene has been following my mom on a weekly basis, they even got us in the same day after she came home from the hospital. He referred us to PEDES which is another great doctor office that has taken care of her vascular needs and performed the angiogram. Dr. Lejuene is very optimistic that her toe will not need to be amputated but has cautioned us we are not out of the woods and time will tell with the healing process of my mom's toe. I highly recommend OCFAG and Dr. Lejuene, he truly cares about his patients and is extremely thorough. ^__^ read more

Today I went in for an ingrown toe nail that was bothering me and I couldn't take care of it myself. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the two front desk ladies and they were very helpful and friendly. That just gave me a good feeling that I walked into the right place to help me with my problem. I was then taken into the room where I was taken in by Juana who was helping out from the Fullerton office, she explained the procedure and assured me I was in the good hands with them. I had been avoiding going to a podiatrist because of a less than positive podiatry appointment over 2 years ago. But then I heard some nice things about Dr. Wilvang and made an appointment to see her at the Tustin office. Good move on my part. First, the waiting room is spacious and pleasant to be in, plus there's fresh coffee and cold water available. The staff at the front desk were very nice. They acted as if they enjoyed being there. I like that. Also, my appointment started right on time. I like that, too. Dr. Wilvang herself was professional, knowledgeable, and easy and pleasant to talk to. My mom went in for an appointment today and was given the worst customer service and professional service! She clearly came to your office with paperwork from a previous doctor because she needed a second opinion since her feet are still in so much pain. Unfortunately she was seen by Dr Dihn who seems to be just as inexperienced as her previous doctor!! To top it off the "friendly nurses" at the front desk were rude and made no effort to help find answers to my moms questions regarding her insurance. I had initially wanted him to see Dr. Bennett after reading all the positive reviews but he was booked up for a couple of months out. So my son was scheduled with Dr. Camarena. I am so happy that my son saw him. My son has been treated for years with other Podiatrists both here & out of state for what everyone just assumed was fungus on one of his big toes. And it may very well be the correct diagnosis. However, Dr. Camarena was the first and only Podiatrist to ask if my son ever had an injury to the toenail, which he did. He actually had to have the whole nail removed years ago after an injury and subsequent infection. Dr. Camarena explained that my son's condition could be fungus but it could also be just the way the nail is now after the injury, in which case all the fungal medications and treatments in the world will not help it. So he shaved the nail down and actually took a sample to send to test for fungus. This seems so basic and simple and I'm not sure why nobody else did it. If it comes back positive for fungus, then we will discuss next steps in treatment for that. If not fungus, then we won't waste time any longer applying topical fungal medications and spraying his shoes. I'm glad we did not choose to take the toxic anti-fungal meds in the past, although they were always presented as a treatment option. Dr. Camarena is knowledgable, friendly, honest, and professional. The office staff is also very nice; friendly and accommodating. The office is clean and inviting. They have water and coffee available. The wait was minimal. When you have lots of doctor appointments, as my son does, it's all of these things that make a huge difference. I am so pleased that we found this office. Highly recommend!!! read more

Dr. Lejeune is by far the most compassionate and kind doctor. He has great bedside manner and helps with every ache and pain. He infuses his visits with joy and laughter when he can. I have been going to him for three years and he continues to heal all of my broken bones and various foot issues. They take insurance in his practice too! I called OCF&AG when my 13 year pulled both of his Achilles' tendons and was hobbling like an old man or crawling like a baby. Got a same day appt in their Tustin office and it was amazing! The front staff were helpful and friendly. We saw Dr. Camarena who recommended several treatment plans to make sure as a parent I was comfortable and we decided collectively on a treatment plan together. He treated my son respectfully and listened to him. And he was much better within a few days! We were cash paying customers since we have an HMO and I needed him to been right away and there office was very generous with us. I would highly recommend this office! read more

I went in for a small callus removal. Before going in inquired about how much they charge since I haven't met my insurance deductible but was told that it won't be much but they can only let me know once the doctor has seen me. Dr. Lejune saw me, removed the callus, was in and out very quickly. I offered to pay on my way out but they still insisted they will bill insurance and if there is any payment needed from me will let me know. Finally I received a bill for $163 for my portion (insurance was billed for callus removal $112, office visit $192 but the insurance negotiated rates were lower and the reduced to $163). I thought $163 was excessive for a short visit for the callus removal and offered to pay the full amount shown on the bill for the callus removal - $112. I was told that Dr. Lejune wouldn't accept that but when I called and asked to talk with him was told that he wasn't even in that day. When I told the receptionist that the billing office said that they had just talked with Dr. Lejune the receptionist said may be they messaged him. Anyhow, I paid the full amount eventhough I still think the charges were too high for a simple callus removal visit. Time to look into Amazon for callus removal equipment. read more

I have been to this podiatry clinic a few times for ingrown toenails. Let me tell you the experience and the procedure were really great!!!! Dr. Yen conducted the procedure both times and it was great!!! I have honestly been afraid of having the ingrown toenail surgery done for about ten years. I've had to deal with both big toenails on both sides growing into the skin and then getting infected. This caused me problems every three months or so and I would usually just cut a notch in the nail and pray that the pain subsided. Eventually it did, but it would always return. I was pretty nervous but I called Orange County Foot and Ankle Group after finding them online. I called the first time and got an appointment and had the operation the same day. The second time I got an appointment a few days later. No big deal. I got in no problem. Front desk staff is really amazing and helped me feel comfortable because I was nervous. (I should not have been, but I was). Anyways, I told Dr. Yen what I just told you. e.g. I have had this problem with ingrowns for a long time, and I am afraid of the surgery. But it was so easy. It didn't take more than 15 minutes. The only part that hurt a little (and nowhere near the pain of years of not being able to walk because of the ingrown nail) was the injections to numb the toe. And it numbs it pretty much completely. There is no way in hell I would do that surgery without anesthesia. But within a minute or two, there is no pain. Dr. Yen did the procedure both times and we just had a casual conversation. And then...................it was over. If you are like me and have had ingrown toenails in the past that bug you and keep you off your feet chronically like several times a year, go to this place and ask for Dr. Yen and get the procedure done. Do it NOW!!!!!! Really I wish I had not waited. The best part is, pain subsides after several days to weeks. Depends on who you are right? And a chemical is applied to the nail inside where the cells grow. It is supposed to kill the cells from growing. AKA, there is only a 10 percent chance the nail will regrow and cause problems. This office had good reviews on yelp, so I scheduled my appt. I asked the receptionist what the new patient fee was, and she stated it was $125. I was quite shocked to discover later that the Dr. charged my Insurance $272. Now just to be clear, no procedure was done during this visit. We just talked about my toes, and the Dr. didn't even actually touch my foot. This is Billing Fraud for a physician's office to bill such an exorbitant fee, especially when I explained to their office in writing that I booked my appt. based on the information I received that a new patient fee was $125. Be very careful about using this Dr's office, you wil find that they will triple your bill when submitting it to your insurance plan, and you will be left with a very high bill that you have to pay yourself. I tried to resolve this with the office, but never received a reply back - their communication is also very poor. But the Billing Fraud is by far the worst part. read more

I was disappointed with my visit. The doctor saw me for 15 minutes and told me everything I have already read and researched online. She seemed burned out or tired and reminded me of doctors who stop caring. I was told I have a flexible flat foot, to stretch and buy shoe inserts. They have state of the art equipment and did a thorough exam. They explained the various reasons why I was experiencing pain and options to address it. Saw Dr. LeJeune for a really bad ingrown toenail and I was really nervous because I've had it done before by my family doctor and it was not a good experience, not to mention I have the lowest pain tolerance.
