It's such a beautiful sound that touches your soul and grabs your heart. Even if you're a non believer, one would appreciate the beauty. Location is very convenient (off 5 fwy)! So happy there's this beautiful masjid here in Irvine. I was a bit weary of the parking, especially coming for Tarawih prayer. I got in a lil after 8 & there was still lots of parking! I ended up parking in the New Horizons School parking lot. The street parking was full. I am not sure how full the actual parking was in the lot of the masjid. By the entrance there were workers directing people in where to park. The atmosphere is just lovely. The interior feels very very clean & I loved how the sisters area is a mezzanine, & not just a separate room completely blocked off (if you have been to other masjids you know what I'm talking about lol). It was a bit hot in there, which is probably my only complaint. The speakers here were so good & the sound was on point. The way it echoes throughout the masjid is just heartwarming! I love going here so far, the recitation is just amazing. Can't wait to come back again!

Temple Review: Unfair Treatment and Favoritism by Volunteer (Komal/Reeta)…read moreI am writing this review today because my friends and I finally found out the name of the woman responsible for pushing us away from this temple: Komal (also known as Reeta). For a long time, many of my South Indian friends and I faced continuous issues with her, but because we didn't know her name, we couldn't properly address it in a review until now. Unfortunately, this was not a one-time misunderstanding. This happened to us an uncountable number of times. Here are the main reasons why we, along with many other South Indian families, have completely stopped attending this temple: Targeted and Rude Comments: Komal/Reeta is usually the main person distributing the prasad. She consistently targets South Indian devotees with unwelcoming comments, telling us things like, "You need to volunteer and not just come here for the prasad. These insulting remarks are selectively directed at us while others are welcomed warmly. Favoritism During Kanjak Puja: During Kanjak Puja, she deliberately hoards and distributes the gift bags to her own relatives and circle, completely ignoring the children's ages. However, the moment our kids line up, she suddenly claims that the bags are "finished." It is heartbreaking to see children discriminated against in a place of worship. Gatekeeping the Temple: Multiple devotees have noted that she treats the temple like a private club, making it clear she only wants her specific circle to be there. Enabling a Hostile Environment: Her friends and family members have now started mimicking her toxic behavior. Because her inner circle behaves the exact same way, the temple environment has become incredibly toxic and unwelcoming.

After a few aborted attempts over the years, we finally made it to St John Chrysostom for a Sunday…read moreservice and we're so glad we did. We had heard some great things about their former Rector, Rev John Taylor and wanted to hear him preach. Well, we waited too long. Last weekend he was consecrated the Bishop Coadjutor for the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles. Congratulation to him and his family. The new Rector, Rev Christopher Potter gave an inspiring homily. He preached on Matthew's gospel -- on the sower of seeds, on both rocky and fertile soil. It was new and insightful (as well as clever). We liked it very much. We were also very impressed by the sincere and welcoming presence of everyone to two visitors from Scottsdale. It was also nice seeing how everyone greeted each other as friends, in a relaxed and genuine way. It made us miss our time here as being too short. Services at St John's Chrysostom are at 8:00 and 10:00. Btw, the summer choir has six section leaders, who are outstanding -- so you are in for musical treat! So come to hear the gospel preached, stay for some fellowship and marvel at their spirit. Peace!

I have…read morebeen a member since 2009 and have since become involved with several ministries, including the St John's Mom's Club. I have made friends of all ages and feel deeply connected to this church family. As another reviewer mentions, the service is similar to a Catholic worship in ceremony, but Protestant in our beliefs. We read from the Bible every week and we have a fantastic sermon, either from our vicar, Father John Taylor, or our associate vicar, Mother Martha Johns. The sermons are posted on our website, www.stjohnsrsm.org, and they are often filled with many thoughts that I will ponder for weeks to come. My daughter enjoys the Sunday School program and once she hits 6th grade, she will join the youth group. When she was little, she went to the nursery and really had fun playing with the friendly staff. Our church is involved in many other ministries including Habitat for Humanity builds, a monthly Food pantry, a support group for caregivers, multiple Bible studies, etc. If you are looking for a new church family, I would highly recommend St John's, where all are welcome.

The important thing to know is that if you come during the holidays or on a weekend, it will be busy. The good thing is, as long as you don't mind parking on the very upper levels and walking a bit, I've always been able to find parking. But if you don't like walking at all, this probably isn't the center for you, and there's a lot of walking if you want to explore everything! What I love about this center is that you have everything from Nordstrom to Target, literally! You can find some very unique restaurants, along with typical chains, so there's something for everyone. We'll occasionally see a movie here as well, but that's another review. What impresses me the most is how well-maintained and clean everything is. Even the elevators in the parking garages are graffiti-free, which is very unusual. Now, not all the locations have maintained their interiors as well, but that's on them and not the Irvine Spectrum. My favorite time to come is still in December. We've always found the night atmosphere to have a lot of great energy. And yes, there are a lot of teens who hang around and have loud fun; they're harmless and add to the energy.

I think this is a great place for shopping and a good experience…read more There is plenty of parking and several parking structures in addition to uncovered parking. It is free parking which is nice and that is a good value. There are several shops, restaurants, Target, Apple store, cheesecake factory, a comedy club, a movie theater, a ferris wheel and much more. Some of the shops are more high end, so expensive. It is usually very crowded and it seems like everyone in OC is there on the weekends. I haven't really dealt with any of the mall staff, so can't talk about their service but I do see some of them cleaning pretty regularly, so that is good. There are a few bathrooms scattered around the mall, that are not in the restaurants. There are some nice water fountains too. It is a pretty large open air mall, hopefully you plan your shopping experience out well, otherwise prepare to walk a lot. Enjoy the photos.
