If I could give zero stars I would. We want to build a new security fence surrounding our whole yard. We own a little more than a an acre and wanted it fully enclosed. 40K job. We were told to go to the showroom and we did. Spent 15 minutes waiting for ANYONE to even acknowledge us, I asked at for a brochure at least. its hard for me to describe the experience. I hired Orange fence to install a fence around my wife's garden, The entire fence was hand made with cedar boards that they cut to size on their premise. Their craftsmanship is the highest grade. They put cedar latice and a black metal screen inbetween the latice to keep the smaller animals out. Two gates that hinge perfectly. I am not a "let me speak to the manager" type. Which is in large part why this is my very first Yelp type review. I'm also not a general contractor or a board certified fence surgeon. I'm just a homeowner who has witnessed a fence or two go up, has dug a post hole once and has very few demands and expectations from fencing, and the installation thereof. I wanted a fence that kept my dog in the yard and looked better than the travesty we inherited when we bought our home six years ago. Neither of those are tall orders, really, given the previous fence looked like the scene of a tractor accident and my dog will stay when I tell her to.  If I remember correctly, I relayed exactly those requirements to whomever we spoke to when we got our estimate and picked out exactly how pointy we wanted the top of the pickets to be. In retrospect, I never specified that I also wanted the fence to remain upright. I will admit, that was my oversight, though in my defense, I just assumed that was a given. So, to the tune of around sixteen thousand dollars, Orange Fence removed the old "fence" and "installed" a new one. In the same way I am not a manager-messaging consumer, I am also not so persnickety that I felt compelled to check the finished product with a level. I also didn't think I'd need to check it with a protractor just two years later. There are some things I prefer "to the left"; my politics, Beyonce choruses, but not my fence. The fence is now enjoying a westerly jaunt into my neighbor's yard. I have also discovered an entire gate post that is standing erect, to use a term loosely, through what I can only surmise is sheer dint of will. I don't recall the installation process involving any concrete whatsoever. I also accept that I'm not Bob Villa, so I just assumed they knew better than I did and let them do what they're going to do. Looking back, the lack of concrete does seem odd given how a quick Google search on installing fence posts, including Do-It-Yourself videos on Orange Fence's own website, involve concrete. The posts appear to have been just jammed into the soil not unlike a child sticks a trowel blade into a sandbox after they've sufficiently filled their bucket. That gate post I mentioned wiggles like an incisor three hours shy of a visit from the tooth fairy, and not only doesn't appear to be concreted to the earth, it isn't even attached to the rest of the fence. It just stands there. Like the Washington Monument. But not nearly as stoically. I've pitched sturdier tents. So, well before it ever occurred to me to take to the internet with my discontent, I reached out to the company, and a woman reminded me the warranty for the installation only covered a single year, which had since lapsed, and someone would be out to give us an estimate. A gentleman met with my husband some days later and agreed that oblique is not a desirable feature for a fence, certainly not after only two years. We were then given an estimate of about five hundred dollars to fix the most obviously diagonal posts. The estimate also didn't note whether concrete would be involved or if we'd simply add a bit more gardening soil like the first time.  Doing the math myself, I realized it would cost me less to set all nineteen leaning posts in concrete myself. I recognize how warranties work. It sets out a specific length of time during which a business will take responsibility and ownership for all or part of the continued function of their product. I also recognize that Orange Fence gave a warranty of a single year. What concerns me, however, is that this issue is the result of the quality of the installation.  Even garden hobbyists know you can't just stick a tree in the dirt and call it good because it will tilt. You have to stake it upright. Even *if* the current trajectory of this fence is the result of the weather, I am a bit surprised that a company can't deliver a product capable of withstanding two years of the climate of the state in which their company is based. I guess I'm just perturbed that the structural part of this fence was less secure than a sapling. Maybe I should have called an arborist. I am also perturbed that one can be left paying installments for a fence with panels doing the Smooth Criminal lean into my neighbors yard, and the company from whence the fence came will say, in essence "yea, we can come by and do it the exact same way again, but it'll cost ya!" So, I'm not saying avoid Orange Fence at all costs. Because, maybe acute angles are your aesthetic. And if they are, you might find exactly what you're looking for with Orange Fence. Otherwise, be prepared to specify that you would like your fence to remain erect, and expect to purchase the "fully perpendicular to the ground" package. read more

Orange fence installed some nice looking fence at our house, the fence came out nice, but the cleanup was unacceptable, they left all kinds of debris along the fence , it was a rainy day , we recently had grass planted by our builder , it was trampled on, and was left with nothing but foot prints in mud, I have used Orange fence in the past and spent a lot of money, I thought they are better than that, don't think I would ever use them again, or recommend them to anyone. read more

Suffice to say I would avoid at all cost. My wife contacted them to get an estimate. They took approximately one month to perform that. The guy showed up late, promised a quote and never delivered. My wife pinged him again for a quote, was told she would get it that day, then nothing. If this is how they act BEFORE getting your $$, I can only imagine what a disaster it would be to actually hire them. read more

i was interested in a gate for my driveway, i called orange fence ORANGE CT. for a quote. seems like it was to small of a project for them. never called us back we had to countinue reaching out for a respond so they finaly responeded with a quote of $11,109.00 for a 14 feet driveway aluminum gate. all they had to say to us, it's to small of a project. not make up a outrageous amount they should've been honest. i recommend don't trust them they are not honest! read more

We shopped around a bit before hiring Orange Fence. They gave us a good price (NOT cheap though), better than the large home improvement stores. Customer service was great and the install went smoothly. The guys that came out to install the fence were friendly, quick & helpful. They made sure to consult with us before and after the job to make sure we were on the same page and happy with the work. Initially I wanted a wood fence for a more classic look. After talking with the sales guy we ended up choosing a vinyl, scalloped, picket-fence. He assured us it would look great and be more cost effective in the long run with little maintenance. He was right! We've had the fence over two years and it still looks like it did the day it was installed. When we first installed the fence we got compliments from all our neighbors regarding how it great it looked. Within a year one of our neighbors also got a matching fence! Poor customer service! They were scheduled to come give a quote.... Said they would call in the am to give me a time that they would be here... no call. I called to see why they didn't call and the woman on the phone backtracked and basically told me that the man, Bob, who does the quotes doesn't work until afternoon and why would I say he's coming in the morning..because that's what he told me!! Immediately after hanging up, who do I get a phone call from? Yep! Bob - pretending he's has no idea what I'm talking about. He was probably sitting right next to the receptionist ...How convenient. Great experience, knowledgeable and friendly employees. I had been looking for a custom wooden driveway gate to keep my dogs and daughter in the backyard and struggled to find what I was looking for. Options were either vinyl or in wood local places told me to cut up a fence panel to make it or get a steel reinforced gate ($3k+). Finally found Orange Fence and upon calling they knew exactly what I was looking for and could make it to my exact specs in their shop. Drove up and the gentleman I spoke with was really nice, I gave my thoughts on specs and using his experience he said that I might want to double check it because the ratio of lattice to panel would look off in his opinion. He recommended I go home and hold up cardboard in the spot and show my wife, sure enough as soon as we did that we agreed. Went back and ordered using new specs and the price was extremely fair. Unfortunately with timing I ordered right before Thanksgiving, then we had a snowstorm and then Christmas so it took a few extra weeks but it came out perfect. I picked it up myself, they gave me all the hardware so it was ready to install. Wife was thrilled with how it came out, sizing was perfect and we are extremely pleased. I will return and recommend them to others. read more

I cannot say enough about Orange Fence. We had them install our pool fence last fall. We fenced in a large portion of our yard including the area under the deck. They knew exactly what fencing was needed to be in compliance with all of our local zoning. They ordered the fence, it came in exactly when they said it would and was installed without a hitch. This spring I needed them to take down a portion of the fence including the gate for the landscapers. They came today to reinstall it only to find that it no longer fit due to the fact that the mason did not accurately measure the size of the gate. They went out of their way to find a workable solution and were able to get the fence back up. I would highly recommend Orange Fence. read more

Ordered a PVC fence for a DIY project. Fence quality is far better than the big box stores.

The best way to say this is do not use Orange Fence and Supply in the busy season. We called them in mid June for a picket fence and a stockade fence. They sent an estimator the very next day. We spent the time to walk the project and discuss the style etc. We understood that installation was to be 4-6 weeks after receipt of a deposit. We never got the quote. After one week I called and was told it would be coming but they were busy. Several days later i was in Orange and dropped into the sales office. I spoke to the owner and he said he would follow up and i should have the estimate right away. By July fourth weekend no estimate so i called the owner and he said he would get personally involved. I guess he forgot about his promise to me the week before. We gave up and I have a contract with a direct competitor who gave us a quote within 24 hours. We lost close to three weeks on getting a fence installed due to Orange Fence not giving us an estimate. I would have preferred the courtesy of being told the install date would be more than 6 weeks rather than having them drag me along by holding back a quote. They may not have gotten the contract by being honest about the delay, but they would not have this bad review either. read more

After writing an unhappy review about this company, I was contacted by the President, Roy Cuzzocreo (you can also read his post to my review which I can only find under filtered items for this company). I really hope people are able to read this review as I have made a 100% turnaround. Not only was Roy sincerely apologetic but he went way out of his way to rectify the situation and took full responsibility for his employee's actions (or should I say lack of action). My fence was finally fixed today and I couldn't be happier with the service Roy provided. He even came himself with his son to repair the fence. Wow, what great service. Kudos to Roy for setting such a great example for companies on how to "mend fences" with unhappy clients and turn them into happy clients! Thank you. read more

Don't waste your money, or your time. You would think that a company dedicated to building fences would know what they were doing and perhaps even take pride in their work, but for me, it wasn't the case. The installers had little to no communication with the person who came out to do the estimate, so everything he told me would be done wasn't known by the installers and didn't get done properly. It probably would have been a better end product if I sat outside with them and told them everything they needed to do like measure and level, but being new to the fence game I thought that was included in the "professional installation". Also, as a nice little surprise, they dumped out their cement mixer on my lawn, leaving cement on my driveway and a patch of dead, cemented grass with gravel all over the place. Aside from the incompetence, nearly everyone at the company was friendly, though I had one phone call with the crew manager where he started yelling at me because I tried to tell him that certain posts weren't plum or parallel on a small section where it's really noticeable, the gates they installed didn't have proper ground clearance and wouldn't open/close and that his crew dumped cement on my lawn. He blew up and said I was being too picky, that my lawn was patchy and that it didn't matter that cement was dumped on it. The estimator and floor manager seemed to want to get the issues resolved for me, but unfortunately the people doing the work had already said they did all they could. With a new baby on the way I just wanted to end the experience and keep them away from my home. If I had to do it all over again, I would find a smaller place where I felt they had something to lose if they did a job poorly. read more
