I have worked with many realtors across the US and will say the level of professionalism and knowledge Itamar had of the market and how to negotiate got me a home that had all the features within my budget. Solely my opinion of the initial communication I had via email and phone...and not impressed. Felt both unprofessional and rude. One agent, who was in charge of two East Brunswick listings, was not helpful at all. I inquired about two listings. Got a reply back from someone else, saying that the home was no longer available as they had received many offers, and it was currently under attorney review. Umm, OK, maybe you should list the property as 'Pending' or take it off market. However, at least he contacted me -- tried to call, and then emailed me. I got no response whatsoever on the second property I was interested in, in spite of emailing and calling the man who had initially responded to me, so I decided to call the agent directly. The listing agent picked up, and after I ask about it, she cuts me off, sounding apologetic and says it's not available either. And before I can say more, she's (obviously) rushing me off the phone, telling me "Sorry" blah blah, and that it's convoluted, and that I should text her so she can explain in further detail. Excuse me? Text you? What are we, in high school?! Shooting messages back and forth?! And if you REALLY wanted to explain in further detail, you could just spend an additional 1- 2 minutes WHILE I ALREADY HAVE YOU ON THE PHONE! Because I immediately knew she was NOT going to tell me s**t via text. Seriously, that phone call lasted exactly 32 seconds. She was *this* close to hanging up on me, but only stopped because I quickly spoke up. And that's when she threw that "let's text" comment. I understand you're busy, you have things to do and clients to attend to, but there should be a level of customer service here -- you cannot cut off, or almost hang up, on potential clients. While looking for homes, I am also looking for potential agents to work with. I have decided that I will not go with anyone working here because if this is how they respond to people, then they are not worth my time. Clearly, I was not worth their time. I don't expect a 10 minute conversation, or a lot of back and forth. But maybe take a few extra seconds to tell me -- without interrupting me mid-question -- that the house is not available. And maybe wait to see if I have further questions before nearly hanging up on me. Because those extra seconds could have scored you some additional business. read more

I have nothing but positive things to say about Michael Matthews and Orange Key Realty. Last summer I spontaneously called Orange Key after seeing Michael's face on the shopping cart at ShopRite. My wife and I were interested in selling our house in Spotswood and needed to do it quickly due to school calendar restrictions. We were historically hesitant to list our home because it seemed like such a daunting task. I scheduled an appointment and Michael came the day or two later and give us feedback about our house. He said he could sell it very quickly. Within the first four days (literally te first weekend!) we had the house sold for a really good price. We realized that we sold the house much quicker than we anticipated and Michael took us to countless tours of new prospective homes an hour west of Spotswood where we ultimately found and entered contract on our dream home. The primary reason we are recommending Michael and his team it's because we've never met anyone in the business world that can keep up with my wife or me. We move really REALLY quickly with things. MICHAEL SETS THR STANDARD FOR EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION AND TIME MANAGEMENT. Michael talked with us nearly every day throughout the house sale process, yet he never made us feel like we were burdening him. He always made us feel like his only client. He did not even mind that we took our one-year-old and four-year-old with us to most appointments. As a matter of fact he helped entertain our kids while we were able to look at the homes. He's great with kids, great with adults, and and it was a truly stand up guy. While we feel that we bought our dream home and hope to live here for a long time, we will certainly call him if and when we ever need to sell/buy. I'm so happy we went right to a pro rather than dealing with a part-time agent like we did eight years prior when we bought our original house. He always seemed to be well networked and got us into viewings nearly immediately despite being nearly on the other side of the state. It is evident that he invests in himself and his company (just look at his ads everywhere). He really is brushed up on current real estate knowledge and training. Customer service is a lost art as you probably are reminded every time you take a trip to any store. Michael really is a pro. He would probably also be an excellent psychotherapist as evidenced in his ability to bring me back down to Earth when I needed it. He was always a professional and a gentleman. I have never in all my life dealt with a realtor like this... Very unprofessional, never calls you back.... Has absolutely no answers to any of your questions. I had no idea what was going on for 2 entire weeks , and wound up losing the property I was interested in. Nothing but a waste of time . I suggest to everyone and anyone to never use them if your selling or buying.... And definitely trying to rent. Beware of Michael Matthews ... Extremely bad businessman. Regarding Phil P. Mr. P.: Although, you're not the principle of the property I will address this response to you with some facts. Firstly, you mention that we only brought 10 potential buyers to the property. Documented through our showing company, we did in fact have 17 showings and several open houses that brought in an average of 5 buyers each time. Your parents' home was listed on 3/8/18 and within 4 weeks we negotiated an acceptable contract and by mid April the property was Under Contract. Unfortunately, due to problems with the home, the buyer terminated the contract on May 9, 2018 based on unresolved inspection issues. Therefore, we lost several weeks of marketing time. As soon as the contract was terminated, we did an open house immediately to spark more attention. During this timeframe I advised your parents several times that they should make price adjustments due to market conditions. For the record, the unrealistic price that you mention was chosen by your parents. They were made fully aware that the highest sold home in the neighborhood which was sold by Orange Key Realty, me specifically, sold for $535,000. They felt that their home was worth more even though it was almost 900 square feet smaller and was not as updated as that other home. Based on the fact that you said I don't return calls or care about their home, I'm assuming that your parents did not share with you that while they were out of the country dealing with family issues, I reached out to them once a week to see how they were doing and also, I visited the home several times to make sure that everything looked perfect. Your statement that I show zero interest in selling the home could not be more false. Let me educate you on how dedicated we are to getting our listings sold. We invest hundreds of thousands of dollars in digital and print media on all of our listings annually. Your parents' home was advertised every month in many different publications as well as over 135 websites. We spent many hours at the home doing open houses as well as prospecting all of the neighbors in the area to see if they knew of any potential buyers looking to move into the neighborhood. Referencing your comment that I sent an email to your folks about where I left the keys, it seems like your father failed to tell you that we had a conversation a few days before the listing expired and I had advised him I would be stopping by over the weekend to collect the lockbox and the sign. While the unprofessional name calling will in no way help potential clients make an informed decision with regard to choosing a real estate professional, it is my sincere hope that my bulleted responses to each of your points will do just that. I take pride in what I do and how I treat my customers which is clearly evidenced in my track record. I have been a Platinum Level Producer for many, many years, the highest achievement there is in the real estate industry. Now that you have been made aware as to the facts of your folks' transaction, I would strongly recommend that you remove this disparaging and defamation of character review.
