This has to be one of the most amazing churches in the RDU area. The experience from beginning to end was top notch. Its churches like New Hope who are leading the way for this new age church. New Hope is such a welcoming atmosphere. I was able to attend church in a pair of jeans, a t-shirt and a beannie and NO ONE LOOKED AT ME AS IF I WAS OUT OF PLACE! I was floored. I actually feel as if I fitted right in. I love the multicultural attendance. There is an amazing ratio of nationalities represented at New Hope. The word from the senior pastor was great. He was detailed yet easy to follow. He was engaging yet full of substance. They offer so much! They have a really sweet looking children's church! It looked so cool I wanted to experience it for myself. Just a few tips, get their at least 15 minutes before service time to enjoy the time to mingle. They have a full service starbucks out front and it was pretty packed at the 10:45 service. Also get there early to take advantage of the best parking options. With that being said, give New Hope a try. I look forward to coming back soon!

The last thing I was told by my wife was to be there at 2:00 to take photos beforehand. I was spending time before the wedding with my family from out of town. I left everyone to get ready for the wedding, when I got there at 2pm the wedding was almost over. When I called them to tell them it was over, and that I missed everything except the kiss and introduction as husband and wife, they were all furious. Myself included. Not very thoughtful of the priest in this situation. What a total screw up. I feel as though I should be compensated for 2 hotel rooms for 2 nights and the gas for 3 vehicles that drove a total of 12 hours to get here and back for a wedding that they couldn't attend. Does any know a good Attorney?

I could easily tell that this is one organic church. Their worship style is wonderful, has a southern ring to it. Most of the songs were arranged and written by their own members! I also happened to be there when they introduced their lead pastor. I'm excited to see how he will lead the church.

I guess i'll be the only one lol. Great place to be! Love the music ministry! Awesome congregation of loving people ready to assist and be of assistance. They are a loving bunch and they make you feel right at home. The church itself is gorgeous and its location isn't bad. Its in the inner city of Durham. The church does a lot of outreach to help those in the community.

I enjoyed walking around the sanctuary and looking at the statues, including statues of Saints of Color. Many of the stained glass windows are from closed Catholic churches in other communities (Philly, I think). I have not had the opportunity to attend mass here, and that is something I'd like to do on a future visit to the area. There is plenty of parking and helpful staff. There are places nearby to eat, if you need that. Both visits, we've eaten at Sammy's Tap & Grill.

On Christmas Eve, I attended the midnight service, and the cathedral was packed all the way out the doors. It was truly beautiful--music, praise, and worship filling the space in a way that stayed with me long after I left. As an active-duty U.S. Navy Diver, life often keeps me far from many of the places that bring peace and reflection. Raleigh has always been one of those places for me. It is not only where I wrote Purple Rose: The Stars Carry Her Name -- Letters from Me to Her, or the city of the woman I wrote the book to, but also a city where I have found moments of calm, purpose, and kindness. I was really nervous to go…read more I initially found them while attending one of their Dismantling Racism workshops- which they do regularly. Admittedly, the congregation is a good bit white... I give it four stars though because they're doing a lot of work to change that including the workshops, educating people about the racist history of the UU church and how they've worked to change that (and are still working). Today's worship was completely presented by POC and their rotating messages on their digital board, vwhich faces the road, include "black lives matter" and "love is love" with a rainbow background. I'm still an atheist, btw, but now I'm an atheist unitarian universalist and I'm not the only one!
