Talk about the old bait and switch. Upon leaving they gave us a list of things that needed to be cleaned. I hired cleaners and had this place spotless! The pictures are taken at move out. In addition we were told my maintenance that we did not need to fill in the holes in the wall or a hole in the door that we only needed to seal the hole with a mesh lining and the maintenance guy would take care of it. We also purchased blinds to replace our he bedrooms. The maintenance guy told us to leave the receipt and if they didn't fit he would exchange them. We payed $50plus for the blinds alone and $250 for the cleaning service. Now I receive my invoice and I'm being charged $180 for a full cleaning????!!!! I'm being charged $60 for filling holes? $31 for cleaning the blinds which were cleaned. $95 for blind replacement. And $100 for the door repair (for the hole we were told to cover with mesh which we did). Not only are we get not refunding any of my deposit but are trying to charge me $153.71 more in addition! Wow. Talk about deceptive. When my husband called the new manager was beyond rude. The accused is of leaving the apt filthy. Did I mention that we called the apt manager for days to do a final walkthrough with them and never got a response?!?!? No wonder. That would interfere with the total scam they have going!!!! They never made a peep, but the nosy guy downstairs complained like a good little spy and Trisha said she couldn't stay the night anymore unless the man out her on the lease. He's 60 years old and works and makes not a sound. They messed up my entryway tile, so I tripped over it every time I walked in the door, but never fixed it. My kitchen sink leaked and warped the counter and they never fixed it. The fireplace didn't work. The patio door didn't fit well so there was a crack. At one time I counted more than a hundred stink bugs in my apartment. I left the place spotless. I had two small dents in the wall (one from moving my treadmill out) which I fixed and didn't see a dime of my deposit. The downstairs neighbor spent all of his time keeping tabs on everything I did and reported it to the office manager. You think you have privacy but you have none. They charge a lot, stick their noses where they DO NOT belong, and they don't fix anything and you won't get any of your money back. It's a ripoff. They tell you you're welcome to have friends over, but I had three girlfriends and watched Saturday night live once and got complained about for laughing too loud. On a Saturday night. Before midnight. They don't want you if you're not 80 and all alone in the world. They don't want you to have friends or family. The office manager will pull you in because she talks nice but honestly, in my 52 years, I've never met anyone who defines the word "two faced" like she does. I couldn't wait to get out of there. It was like living in hell. Actually, I would prefer hell over that place. Trisha was awful and the apartments are not even close to being near worth the money.

Today was by far the worse days of living here. My front door has no weather stripping so it's frozen. You could hear and feel the cold air coming in from the outside not only through the lack or weather stripping but in the living room where the floor and wall meets. I did call the office and all they said was put blankets around the window. How does that solve the issue?? Your charging me $1600 a month to reside here and that's the best you can come up with as a resolution? I lived in other apartment complexes before not paying nearly as much and never had to endure with what I did today. These buildings are over 10 yrs. old and the issues don't justify to what there charging to live here. I will not be renewing my lease. I feel sorry for anyone to decides to rent here cause for what they charge the buildings are not up to par. They are charging the same amount as brand new Apartments in Valparaiso that were built less than this and don't have nearly as much problems. Do yourself a favor and run and don't look back. The office staff and maintenance is great. Lake Pointe Apartments are now owned my Morgan Properties and there hands are tied, but again stay clear of any owners with the name Morgan Properties. I have photos from the issues I ensured today. I won't post them here. The office manager has been sent them and the issues although I know nothing will be done.
